Coyote007 Posted October 21 Posted October 21 I played Pokémon Blue on the No$GMB emulator back in 1999 on my 486. That hard drive has died. I’ve found a 2003 CD backup of my Pentium 4 with a Pokémon Blue .sav file and ROM in my Visual Boy Advance folder. I’ve successfully recovered my Pokémon Sapphire .sav file from this same folder, but I can’t be sure if I’ve opened / saved Pokémon Blue in Visual Boy Advance back in the day or if I simply dumped all my No$GMB folder contents into the Visual Boy Advance when upgrading to a new PC. For some reason, this Pokémon Blue .sav file is 33 kB and not 32 kB. PKHeX can’t open the .sav file Rhydon can’t open the .sav file If I load this .sav file on a circa 1999 version of No$GMB it simply crashes and exits If I load this .sav file on Visual Boy Advance, Pokémon Blue complains about the battery state and then starts a new game. Several options still to be tested:Pokeblue.sav I can still try to open the file in a DOS version of No$GMB (can’t remember if I played under DOS) Load the .sav file on a circa 2003 Visual Boy Advance version Any other options? Is there any tool for checking the contents of a .sav file and determining its corresponding application? Thanks in advance!
