Is there any way to spoof Generation 2 Mystery Gift with a 3DS?

Hello! I tried my best to find the proper forum to post this in, so sorry if this post is better suited for another forum mods.

So, I will soon be getting a Gameboy Color, and was wondering if it was possible to use Mystery Gift with my 3DS? I know just going onto the Virtual Console version of the Generation 2 games and trying to use Mystery Gift flat out wont work, but was curious if there had been any homebrew applications that send the correct IR signals to the GBC to utilize Mystery Gift?

I've scoured the internet for such a thing, and I have not found it. So I decided to make a thread to see if anyone here might know, and to make a web to lie in wait like a spider until such a thing comes into existence. I have moderate coding experience, and would be interested in looking into 3DS homebrew creation for a tool like this if such a thing does not exist yet, if that's even possible with current 3DS homebrew capabilities.
