nlnw170503 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) By N.L.N.W. Pokémon Moon: The Ultimate Edition is a modified version of Pokémon Moon that features a much harder difficulty, an updated level curve going to level 77, a huge variety of wild encounters, and a slightly modified story that stays true to the original material. It's my first and probably only ROM hack, since it took approximately four months to complete it and test it on my own, meaning that I had to play the game more than 5 times. As an ordinary fan and inexperienced in ROM hacking, I feel accomplished and proud to bring to you this experience. Features Updated TM moveset, featuring some stronger moves, like Power Gem, Aura Sphere, Moonblast, Submission, Flare Blitz, etc. Enemy trainers have more diverse teams. Trade evolutions have been disabled, and evolutionary stones/items are sold on specific Poke Marts. Every Pokemon in the Alola Pokedex is available to the player, even Legendaries/Mythicals. Additional Pokemon from other regions can also be found in the wild. Non-Alolan Legendary Pokemon can be caught using Island Scan. The main story is divided into three parts. Modified dialogue. Some boss trainers use Z-Powers/Mega Evolution. Healing items have been reversed to their original healing value. Totem Pokemon have higher boosts, making them harder to defeat. Updated level curve. The twist of Pokémon Moon: The Ultimate Edition is that there are two versions of the ROM Hack when concerning the soundtrack of the game: The Original Sounds Version and the External Sounds Version. The first, as the name implies, is the modified game with the original soundtrack from Vanilla Sun&Moon, directed at players who are experiencing Alola for the very first time or for streaming purposes; while the External Sounds Version possesses a number of tracks from different media, used solely for the purpose of enhancing the game and giving it a more cinematic feel; it is not made for profits or other type of gains, just for a passion fan project. There is so much more to discover in this new ROM hack of a very underappreciated game, and the main inspiration for its creation is very noticeable. I hope that I have brought to you a memorable experience and feel free to comment on potential fixes or upgrades for the game. Thank you! Used PK3DS to modify the game mechanics and VEGAS PRO to modify the audio files for the External Sounds Version. Use Citra emulator to play the game. For it to be played, one must own their copy of Pokemon Moon. A quick tutorial of how to patch the game using xdeltaUI is as follows: Step 1: Download the preferred xdelta file from the link. Step 2: Open xdeltaUI, and select "apply patch". Step 3: In the patch section, click on open, and select the .xdelta file; then, click on the open next to source file, and select your Pokemon Moon ROM. Step 4: Click on the three points, and name the new file as you want. But it should end with .3ds in order to be played by Citra Emulator, (f.e, "PKMNMOON.3ds") It should take approximately a minute. Step 5: Select the new .3ds file on Citra, and enjoy!
