Are clothing edits possible in S/V?

Hi.

I’m in the process of getting my switch installed with a chip to be able to mod it. The main reason I would like to save edit is I have a glitched mystery gift backpack I want to fix. One of the ones from the online competition rewards. I have a working code but it tells me I already have the item (I don’t.) Nintendo and Pokemon company support were both absolutely unhelpful and did nothing. 

 

Is this possible to fix with pkhex? I’m imagining it’s a flag somewhere. My main issue is I would like to transfer the save file to my modded switch from my unmodded OLED, edit the file to fix it, and then transfer it back to my unmodded OLED. Is this achievable?

My biggest concern is ruining my save somehow or getting my console banned from doing something wrong. Perhaps someone has some advice or tutorial for someone who hasn’t used a modded switch before for save editing?
