Trying to figure out how to build great pokemon experience for my kid

Hi,

I'm 43 and have a 7 year old kid deep into Pokemon loving. I've never played a Pokemon game myself.

I want him to experience it from scratch and collect Gen1 Pokemon from Red version while i will begin a blue version game myself.

I have two hacked 3ds and i did install virtual console games from downloaded cia files.

These games and the hacked 3DS works perfectly but i tried to make poke transporter work out of curiosity and it doesn't detect the Pokemon Red installed game on my son's 3DS.

Is it a regular behavior ?

I read that Poke transporter should be compatible with virtual console versions of 1Gen games, is it only compatible with legit version of games ?

If so is there a way to harvest the Pokemon in the cia version of Virtual Console with Poke Transporter anyway ?

I'd like my son to be able to transfer his pokemon from gen 1 all the way up!

I've made somme tries and was able to detect Blue Version from Poke Transporter onmy own DS so i guess it's a matter of game integrity.

The undetected Red version installed on my son's 3ds is way lighter than the version i've installed on mine.
