If you haven't tried opening the app yet, the command will not work properly. Another thing you can try is right clicking the app and clicking "open"

It works now, and the only issue I have now is that it crashes after a few minutes, however I didn't update the PKHeX.exe file within the file you shared, so I assume that I just need to update the .exe file to a newer one to fix the constant crashing. Correct?

If you update the file to latest, it will crash immediately because WINE does not yet support dotnet 7

Yes, but you have to add the files yourself to activate it. Instructions are found from the old article:

No, but you might be typing the command wrong.

xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /path/to/pkhex/app

Hello all, 

 

Wine now supports dotnet7, but wineskin is not up to date with wine. If you want to use the latest pkhex with wine, I recommend installing wine with brew. https://brew.sh/

After installing brew, install wine with

brew install wine-stable

After installing wine, you can run pkhex by running

wine /path/to/pkhex.exe 

If it gives you the "no dotnet 7 runtime found", then download it from here (https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/7.0) and install it using wine the same way you ran pkhex above. After it installs, run pkhex again, and you should be good to go!

For M series users, I would recommend checking out UTM: https://mac.getutm.app/

UTM is an optimized hypervisor for mac, and it is REALLY fast if you virtualize windows.
