PkHex for Mac won't open?

this may be a dumb question, but i downloaded the pk hex for mac file since i already have wine/ wine bottler installed previously  (and it has worked for me before) and for some reason when i click on the pk hex app icon nothing happens at all? do i need something else installed or..? any and all help would be much appreciated tyvm!

have you updated to Catalina? if so then you can’t open PkHex anymore. i heard it was something with apple removing a certain feature that the mac version had.

im running El Capitan (10.11.6) and it's my first time ever trying to open Pk Hex/ figuring this stuff out

Same. Running Mojave and PKHex just doesn't open. I've tried almost all methods on this forum and I feel a little desperate now.

Plzz someone help me i downloaded pokehex earlier on my pc it worked well for a long span also after the recent update it was working nicely but unfortunately after a while it wont open i have tried many times plzz someone help me thanks in advance just plzz help me
