Lyserg Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 I have a question regarding the Alola Pokdex: if I want to complete the Alola Pokedex but not the entire Pokedex (since transfers aren't available yet) how can I differentiate between the Alola forms and the original forms? For example, I have caught an Alola Vulpix; in the Pokedex it shows as I have seen and owned a female Vulpix and on the "displayed" box nothing is checked. I'm guessing if the "displayed" box is left unchecked and the seen and owned boxes are both checked then it registers the Alola form. But let's say I have transferred a regular Vulpix from RBY. How does the game know that I have seen and caught both the Alola Vulpix and RBY Vulpix? I find it weird both the regular Vulpix and Alola Vulpix share the same dex number.
Ispano Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 (edited) Because you'd be able to look at both forms in the dex if you did so. Same species, same dex Number. It only cares that you caught one of the species, not the different forms for the caught/not caught mechanic. Edited December 19, 2016 by Ispano
