Battle Spot Hacker(?) and Questions

Hello! Recently on Battle Spot there has been some sort of hacker that gathers free wins from people via some sort of bug/exploitation/hack by causing the game to hang after selecting the Pokemon to bring in Team Preview. Here's a video of a player facing the "hacker":

The player's name is reportedly なおき and uses multiple teams, though the mono Electric mouse team seems to be popular. Besides public awareness, however, my biggest question is this: what sort of exploit is this person pulling off? What means is the hacker using to accomplish this? Not like I want to replicate what the hacker's doing, but I'm very curious how something of this magnitude has not been discovered before, especially with Generation VI having been out so long.
