Skyler Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Hi everyone, this is the first time i post here in Project Pokemon. I have seen the works on this community, and I'm very interested in learning about Pokemon creation and legality checks. I been reading a lot about PID generation, trash bytes and IV's checks for a quite some years. For fun, i have been creating and studying some Pokemon for Gen III, IV and V but i still have many questions regarding if they are done correctly (some checkers pass them, others not), so the first question i want to resolve is how do i identify the differences between .pkm files form the different pokemon generations. I want to learn everything about that topic form the very beginning, so I'm starting in Gen I and II. There's little information about Pokemon hex data or the process for it's creation on gen I and II games, so i need a starting learning point, whit some good guides, articles, post or whatsoever regarding how Pokemon data is stored in memory, in game generation and the programs for checking them, because i think those games are more basic (or at least that's what i learned form It's DV's and EV's mechanics), so after learning form them i can move to gen III and successively. Also don't worry if the information it's a bit technical i can understand things like HEX addresses and memory stuffs (But when it comes to code lines i droll my keyboard:bidoof:, i just only know a few things about Qbasic and HTML form the 90's) Also i need a recommendation for a good program for save editing and .pkm files creation for Gen I and II, I'm mot sure if there is one here.
Skyler Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Hmm... It has been a few days and still no response. Did i post something wrong or in a bad place? i have read most of sticky post here and there and i see no problems... Well. I'll keep it simple and ask a simple question: Is there any info or programs regarding Pokemon validation or creation for gen I and II?
