Is there still any way to download Pokemon onto a DS Lite?

I'm replaying Pokemon HGSS on my lite and there are some unobtainable-ingame Pokemon that I need, now in the past I just downloaded pokemon from Pokegts.com but then everything changed when Nintendo shut down WiFi services for the old DS versions (and the fire nation attacked) and now it doesnt seem possible for me anymore, or is it?

Excuse my ignorance, I'm new to all this, maybe someone here can help me out.

TLDR: I am trying to get one or two pokemon (eg a Bagon) that aren't catchable ingame (exclusing safari) onto my HGSS for casual, personal use, and I only have a DS Lite.

well... you have 2 options here: trade with a friend or something local, or buy a cheating device/r4 card ect.

The easies why I know how to is

Get an NDS Adaptor Plus (You can get them off Amazon) and use Pokegen
