PaperPikmin Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 How do I edit the in-game Pokémon sprites in HeartGold and SoulSilver? I know they are contained in the a/0/0/4 folder, but I stopped knowing what to do after that.
Kakko97 Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 You have to use poke ds pic platinum..check it in the "rom editing tools" topic
PaperPikmin Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 I knew that already, but what do I do with PokeDS Pic?
Kakko97 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Poke DS pic shows you sprites of all the pokemon in the game. To edit them, you have to save the image, edit it with a graphic program (paint too) and reinsert with poke ds pic. Then you click File->write to narc to save changes..
PaperPikmin Posted April 16, 2012 Author Posted April 16, 2012 (edited) What do I do if it says the image has to be 8bpp indexed? EDIT: I made the sprite, saved it as png, then I clicked on 4.narc, navigated to the sprite I want to edit, clicked open png, and clicked write to narc. However, when I revisit the sprite, it is double the actual sprite and has a jumbled mess below it. Edited April 17, 2012 by PaperPikmin
Kakko97 Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 save it in 8bbps or it doesn't work.. Anyway, there are a lot of tutorial on youtube check for these
Elyria Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 No. No there aren't. Necroed because nooooooooooooooo! 8bpp is a lie, doesn't exist, can't be done.
