Pocketmoon96 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 This is probably an error on my part but here goes: I have created quite a few pokemon in a box, but when I go to generate the code; I am given about 20 separate codes, one for each one. In AR Code manager, I have to set each on as a different entry and load each individually, which often crashes the game. Is there a way to generate a single code for multiple boxed pokemon? And how does one do that? Thanks a bunch
Codr Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 If you're doing this for a generation 4 game, there's currently a "bug" that isn't generating the codes properly. The next version will fix it, but I don't have a release date. If it's for generation 5, I'd imagine something else is being done wrong, because there's no way I can think of that those codes would crash anything, even if the wrong game is used.
Pocketmoon96 Posted April 6, 2012 Author Posted April 6, 2012 well its less of a bug, and more of a 'i don't feel like copying in 30 different codes into AR' problem... I am creating a whole box code for Gen 5. No matter how i look at it, Pokegen always presents 30 individual codes; which is tiresome to set up on my AR, especially as it is running out of space... If there is a way to merge the individual codes, (perhaps in he same way pokesav did)
Codr Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Are you not aware that the AR hardware will fail to function if a code exceeds ~185 lines? (Unless there's some update since this was tested for me.)
Pocketmoon96 Posted April 6, 2012 Author Posted April 6, 2012 I think thats true, but boxed pokemon codes were very small anyway. If i lined up all 30 end to end, it still wouldn't be 185 lines. Besides, It seems unnecessary to put each code in individually when they're that small.
Codr Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Uh, box Pokemon data is 136 bytes. At minimum, that's 18 lines per Pokemon when combined. You're looking at 9-10 Pokemon within the line limit. Also, are you saying that starting the game with the 30 individual codes enabled causes problems?
Pocketmoon96 Posted April 6, 2012 Author Posted April 6, 2012 this has gotten off topic... I hate to compare gen to sav; but i was able to make a full box in sav, export into one code and put it on my AR no trouble. I think its possible for pokegen to do the same. If the feature is under construction, that's fine. I just think its a necessary component. I'd ratger have one code that may or may not load in AR; than 30 individual ones i cant keep track of. Apologies if this discussion has become heated
Codr Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I intended to allow codes to be combined, but decided not to spend the time on it when the code generator was changed. The notion of wanting only one code every time, regardless of whether not it works, doesn't make sense, however. Why would you want something that doesn't work? I'll assume the answer to my question in my previous post was "no", given your response. In which case it seems like pickiness or laziness, not an actual PROBLEM regarding the ability to get something done. The way it is right now is the way it's likely going to be for the foreseeable future.
Pocketmoon96 Posted April 6, 2012 Author Posted April 6, 2012 very well. Ill stick with using separate codes for now. I see this is a purposeful design, rather than an oversight.
