crazyme Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 I had trouble finding a guide for using PokeGen to create valid eggs that would actually hatch and didn't hatch on the first step. I finally figured it out and made this for the rest of you Creating legitimate Pokémon eggs in Pokégen is slightly different than other Pokémon but it is easy enough once you understand it Process. Main Page. Skip personality for now First start with the pokémon species and put the name of the wanted pokémon, Evolved pokémon are considered illegitimate until hatched, then they cannot be distinguished For nickname select Egg, it will change when hatched For level select the desired level upon hatching,a level 2 or higher is illegitimate until hatched, then it is fine Nature is the same as a hatched pokémon Leave held item as none Happiness is the key difference for eggs the happiness is used as a place holder for the number of egg cycles left, the steps required to hatch are equal to nx255 where n is the happiness value, if n is 0, the egg will hatch in one step Ability, form, country, origin, shiny leaf, and gender are the same as a hatched pokémon Select the box where it says egg, pokérus if you want it, leave shiny alone for now, we will get back to it later. Met. Game: Black/White Location: Day-Care Couple Ball: Poké ball, all others are illegitimate Level: 1 Date: Any Encounter: Egg/Pal Park/Event/Honey tree/Shaymin Fateful encounter: no As Egg: yes Rest should be grayed out Stats. Anything will work here, if EVs are above 0, it will be illegitimate until hatched Attacks Anything it learns naturally, egg moves, level up, or TM, Tutor moves will be illegitimate until hatched OT/Misc If you do not care about shininess this box does not particularly matter as it will be reset upon hatching. If you DO care about shininess, put in the ID, secret ID, and OT, into the boxes, the rest do not matter. Personality ID. Once the IDs are done, go back to the main screen and hit the F next to the personality ID box Once here, verify that the pokémon, nature, gender, ability, and IVs are about what you want them to be. For shininess, pick one or two IVs that you care about and select the "-" next to the IVs and change them to a "=", more than two usually cannot produce a shiny. Where there is the shiny box in the bottom left click it until you get a pure black and white check mark, no check means not shiny, grayed out means either way If you care about hidden power, hit the check box to unlock the options Once all of that is correct, hit the search button in the bottom left and then select a PID that shows up, if none shows up, change some of your parameters until one shows up, usually there is only this problem if the pokémon is shiny or supposed to have a specific Hidden Power Once a satisfactory ID is selected the IVs are shown on the left, if those are ok, hit the OK button in the bottom right with the PID still selected You have just created a fully legitimate egg, right click an empty box to successfully finish the egg making process I hope this helped
