Action replay and pokesave for the ds lite.

Ive been trying to get into the competitive scene of pokemon since i really herd there was such a following. with pokesav and action replay allowing people to come up with there best viable poke's, it could be considered a must have... however...I HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT WORKS! i just cant figure out what i am doing wrong. sorry if theres a another post but i really can not find an answer. i have a dsLite and i have an action replay thats been updated for BW. So i can get the stock action replay codes to work, but the pokesav or what ever people are using i just cant figure it out. i am stone walled please help.
