Experience Multiplier Code - Bug?

When using the Experience Multiplier Code my pokemon get anywhere from 8 - 30 defense on leveling up. I'd really prefer not to have their stats altered unnaturally. I just want to level up quicker as I started a new team halfway through the storyline.

Also, this is for Heart Gold version.

Any help is immensely appreciated!

If they have unnatural stats, you can simply deposit them then withdraw them.

That'll reset their stats to normal values.
