EngSpringer Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Hi, tried loading the beta of PokeGen so I could read the data on some B&W pkm files I have. Unfortunately, I'm running Norton 360 on my system and Norton keeps quarantining the program and restartiing my computer. Has this happened before or am i just the unlucky one with a very antisocial Anti Virus?
Rinduri Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 The real question is why you are using Norton. It tends to screw up a lot of things.. Anyway there should be a way to make an exception for the .exe. Not sure how though because, again, I don't use Norton.
Codr Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 This is definitely one of those false detections or another virus injecting itself. There's nothing malicious in PokeGen.
EngSpringer Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 I'm confident that PokeGen isn't malicious, but was thinking if this happens only with Norton if I should use a different AntiVirus when the subscription is up. Am considering turning Norton Off when using PokeGen.
Bond697 Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 get rid of norton and grab this: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/ it's far better than norton/symantec stuff and is completely free. the newest version came out a month ago(v2.0) and does a pretty amazing job of malware detection/prevention/removal.
