News and updates about Pokémon, events, and game mods
    Cecillia
On Monday, March 26, 2018, Niantic announced a new update, for Pokémon Go. This update gets released somewhere in the coming days. They also announced that it might involve Mew, this will mean that it could possibly be the first time people have the ability to catch all the original 151 Pokémon in Pokémon Go.

Niantic has announced yet another update for Pokémon Go, this is the first major update since the weather update a few months ago. Strange occurrences are happening in the world of Pokémon, and it is said these occurrences are tied to Mew! As Mew is seen in the promotional image, it could be an indicator Mew will be catchable, as something similar happened with other promotional images. The update will get released somewhere during the coming days. Since the blogpost has no clear end date, it would likely indicate that it's an update. Otherwise they would've posted an end date of the event.

After this update, you can go on special research trips. During these trips, you have the possibility to earn stamps for finishing specific tasks. The Field Research tasks will require spinning Pokéstop discs to get objectives, such as: finding and capturing specific Pokémon, battling, and other objectives. For Special Research tasks, you need to get asked by Professor Willow to help with important discoveries. Finishing these tasks you will earn rewards, such as items, and even encounters with special Pokémon.

There won't be a limitation as to how many tasks you can finish, so you can go on a long field trip, searching far and wide, besides this possibility of adventure, the tasks will gradually become more difficult to finish, according to Niantic. It's only possibly to earn one stamp every day; this stamp is obtainable by completing at least one Field Research task. After seven stamps, you could achieve a "Research Breakthrough" which will get you even better rewards.

According to Niantic, "Research tasks will provide interesting challenges that will help you get better at [the core concepts of Pokémon Go, which involve:] discovering, battling, and catching Pokémon".
We're interested in this update already, and anticipating it's release. Have fun with your adventures!

    • Since they released over a decade ago, the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games for the Nintendo DS have not had much in the way of ROM editors. Over the past few years, hackers have slowly learned more and more about the inner workings of the games, culminating in the most advanced PMD editor to date: Sky Temple.

SkyTemple is a user-friendly level editor for Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky that gives the user full control over graphics, scripts, Pokémon data, and more, enabling a great amount of creative freedom to prospective ROM hackers to create not just edits of the game, but entirely new levels and plots.
