Shortly after its 2016 mid-year launch, Pokémon Go was dubbed as being a “global phenomenon” despite the persistent software
hiccups, the Google Account privacy hysteria, and zoning permissions.  Globally, there was an estimate of 160 million active users back
in 2016, and a projection of roughly 250 million active users for 2017.
    ²

Throughout its first year, the Developers have released numerous updates to address the App’s software issues, add various language support,
UI and feature upgrades.  It is also worth noting that there were a fair share of events hosted for GO Trainers year-to-date.  Will we ever see
that famous “raid” on Mewtwo as seen in the hype-trailer for the game?

Pokémon GO’s latest entry on their website titled, Happy Birthday, Pokémon GO! was posted July, 6 2017 in honor of the app’s first birthday.
    The article advertises that:

    Quote

“From July 6 at 1:00 P.M. PDT to July 24 at 1:00 P.M. PDT, Pikachu discovered in the wild will be wearing Ash’s famous hat (Original Cap)
from the Pokémon animated series, so make sure you don’t miss out on your opportunity to catch one! You’ll also be able to stock up for
Raid Battles and the events ahead with the special limited-time Anniversary Box, which will include Incubators, Max Revives, Ultra Balls, and
Raid Passes at a discount in the in-game shop”.

If you encounter or catch that Cap Pikachu, post your images below.  We would love to see them!

The Shiny Magikarp was limited?  I had heard that some Raids against Magikarp are more likely to be shiny.  If this isn't the case, I have wasted a handful of Raid passes. :/

    Oh, I didn't know that's a thing.

A quick google shows that it's apparently true.

It's the first one to repeat, then.

(in that case, magikarp raids make sense now, lol)

So my hope is that some hacker will come out of nowhere one day and release accounts with all the pokemon inside.

I missed the first days of yugioh duel links too i guess i will miss some cards forever now yay.

Oh well atleast they are doing a event now with a free dark magician and blue eyes white dragon with alternative artworks so thats minus 2 rare missing stuff.

@theSLAYER, do you have a Gyarados?  I'm 173 Magikarp Candies away from my first (hopefully shiny) Gyarados.

hehehe, I have a shiny Magikarp and Shiny Gyarados, from when they first released it XD

don't have any other Gyarados beyond that, tho ><

Oh i never knew the Shiny Magikarp was limited, that's a shame! I have a Gyarados fully powered up and almost 500 candy to evolve a Shiny Magikarp if I ever happen to get one.

Currently i'm trying to hatch a Pichu with a cap, sadly my last 10 2k eggs have all been Goldeen, Spearow or Geodudes. The first 5k i put on did however hatch in to a Magby, which i think was the only baby Pokemon i needed.

    • Since they released over a decade ago, the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games for the Nintendo DS have not had much in the way of ROM editors. Over the past few years, hackers have slowly learned more and more about the inner workings of the games, culminating in the most advanced PMD editor to date: Sky Temple.

SkyTemple is a user-friendly level editor for Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky that gives the user full control over graphics, scripts, Pokémon data, and more, enabling a great amount of creative freedom to prospective ROM hackers to create not just edits of the game, but entirely new levels and plots.
