I have just downloaded a hack of HG/SS called Pokemon FireRed DS. (It is in beta) When I extracted the file, it's file extension was .patch. I have no idea how to use it. I've been playing on a Japanese Fire-red Rom. I'm tired of looking up moves on Bulbapedia and I'm wondering is there a patch that changes the Moves from Japanese to English? Even a patch the changes all the text (except Pokemon names) to English would be great.

How is the money given by trainers calculated? I put in an amount but the amount I get after defeating the trainer is much more than specified. 10000 gives 28600, 5000 gave me around 10k etc. This is for Black And White.

Is it possible to edit how badges work? Specifically, editing the level they allow your pokemon to be before they don't listen? Like Badge 3 letting you control up to level 60 pokemon. Could you change it to 50?

Is there anywhere I can find a neat little program or even a PDF with a list of trainers per area for BW2? I was using Zero's BW Trainer along side Kazo's for that very reason but Zero's doesn't work with BW2 and he hasn't logged onto the forum in about 2 months so he may not update it any time soon. http://puu.sh/1SOrL An example of what I'm looking for. The best I know of at the moment is using bulbapedia and looking at the trainer section to see what trainers are in an area but this is far more convenient since I can scroll through the list, find the trainer I want and type the name in on Kazo's editor and edit it.

hello! I was trying the SDSME (Spyk's DS map editor) and had this idea " What if I try to use the compact style of pokemon center from HG/SS in platinum?" and I made a simple test, this is the result : http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v94/link-604/Print%20Secreens/pc1_zpsd5005f53.png I think I will mess a bit with this model, but how you can see the textures don't look this bad on the actual model and stufs Well how can I edit the texture to fix these little bugs (and add the steps ) and someone know any way to get the npcs and all the stufs to make verything work? and how do it work for the centers in general? If you wanna try . the map for the pokemon center in platinum is No.191 Well whats about this idea?

Ok, so I have seen videos of a hack that puts the map of the game corner with slots back into the games, but when they play the slots voltorb flip comes up. I am wondering which files within the rom I need to change to make mine look like and function like this? Also I need to know which file contains the actual voltorb flip mini game? Any help would be appreciated as I really liked the slots way more and would like to attempt a patch for this

I've been thinking about importing the name imput screen from Black/White into Black2/White2. Does anyone know where you can find the data for changing the name imput screen? I wonder if it's coded in the ARM9.bin or the overlays? 'Cause I'd really like to learn how to find the data for the name imput screen, so then I can copy and paste the data into Black 2 and White 2.

Hello, I was really wondering if there is a BW2 Starter editor that not only changes the starters, but also changes the starter images when you first receive your starters. I saw an image on google that has the starter images changed, but I'm not for sure if there was a tool that was used or just hex edits. Thanks.

I'm not sure if it's possible for this to be known for sure before Black & White are released in regions outside Japan, however maybe it is through examining the Japanese games so I thought I'd ask. Something I've been wondering, is whether or not it's possible that the Wi-Fi Mystery Gift in Gen V has been designed to discriminate based on something more than just the language of the game? Such as the UK and North American English games no longer having access to all the same Wondercards, whether an event is advertised in both regions or not?

Hey everybody. I was wondering what tools I would need to edit the contents of .narc files and such that are found in the ROM data when you open a ROM in Nitoexplorer2. I want to know this because I want to do this: |I want to extend the default Japanese input limit from 5 JPN Characters to 7 ENG Characters(HG/SS Name Input Default US Limit)| THIS IMAGE WAS MODIFIED! IT'S NOT REAL!! I know that I will require these tools so far: A Hex Editor (For editing extracted NARC contents) NitroExplorer (For extracting/replacing ROM contents) My first goal is to have the 7 Character Limit work. After I have the 7 Character Limit working fully I will want to change the JPN English Character page with with the US English Characters. (I assume the US Font exists in the ROM because if you add a Pokemon with a English name from HG/SS/D/P/PL the text uses the English Font and not in the Japanese-English Font..) My Final Goal would be to change the Max Character limit on Pokemon Nickname imput from 5 to 10 Don't bother saying that it is not possible because it is. I just need to know what tools/research I would need to do this. If I can successfully pull this off, I may have a possible contribution to the Pokemon B/W English Translation by Kazowar.

Hello, I'm currently working on a tool to edit the narc file a/0/0/2 which should contain the strings of moves, pokémons, types, names, etc. but as some may know the strings are encrypt with a key. unfortunately I didn't succeed in decryption neither of those strings and i wonder if anyone has, and is willing to share the decryption key with me/us. -Vetyst

So I am just experimenting with a ton of tools to make a Pokemon REd hack (probably not for public release until I have tested it, and work out how to make it a patch). I am making Pokemon available in the game, in the style of a 151 type thingy, but the obvious downside to this is that in Gen 1, many Pokemon did not learn any moves via level up before you could catch them. So I was wondering, is there any Gen 1 tool to edit level up moves?

I'm kind of new to the whole narc file thing, but I've been muddling through it. I have been able to change the Trainer's back sprite to Cheren, Juniper, etc, but I'm wondering if it is possible to replace the trainer's back sprite with a Pokemon's. Since the number of files within each archive don't match up with each other, I haven't had any luck yet. I guess my question is, can it be done? Has it already been done and I just can't find it yet? Another thing that's been bugging me is the texture hacking videos. I searched around but can't find any tutorials or programs to use for it. Sorry if either of these topics have already been brought up, I haven't been able to find anything on them. Thanks for any help or input.
