  1. This is something I found out just now. When a shadow Pokémon has been already purified, and it is then edited in PKHeX, it reverts back to being shadow in-game again, even if the heart gauge is set as 0 and the "Shadow" flag is unchecked. Of course, since the heart gauge is still 0, all it takes is going to Agate Village and re-purify it in there, but since I was too lazy to do that (and I'm in the middle of the story so it'd be kinda anti climatic) I tried solving it via HxD. Succeeded, so, if it's of any use, here's what I got: This is how the affected Pokémon looked when re-shadowed: *The heart gauge status is determined by these 4 bytes. As you probably know, hese values vary depending on the in-game heart gauge. These are the values of a shadow Pokémon that's ready to be purified. Here's the file, if needed: 156 - Fuji - 4DEBB64B197C.ck3 And this is the exact same Pokémon when purified: *These "purified" values seem to be the same, regardless of the species. The Pokémon used on this example is a Quilava. File: 156 - Fuji - 6FFCB64B197C.ck3 Pokémon XD seems to have some trouble as well, as any edit on this matter will have no effect in-game and trying to do it seems to cause a bug on the snagged/purified count. Haven't found out anything about it.
  2. -Not sure if posted on the right forum. Please move if necessary- So, I started a Colosseum game and as soon as I was able to save, I opened the file via PKHeX, only to find out both my Umbreon and Espeon are flagged as illegal when I couldn't possibly have edited them. About Umbreon, the program stated the typical "PID-Encounter mismatch". About Espeon, it's "Encounter conditions-RNG Frame mismatch". If needed, here are the unedited files: 196 - ESPEON - C245B6B1134E.ck3 197 - UMBREON - 0D43FC6BC225.ck3

Thanks to @Baegislash for helping me convert my German Colosseum save to NTSC, I was able to do the E-reader battles again and make save states. Here is a set of Japanese Colosseum E-reader shadow Pokemon save states. The OT name has been changed to PPorg and the TID/SID have been changed to all 0's. So you'll have to import your own data and Pokeballs if you want something outside of the standard Pokeball. You will also need to import your own Pokemon as I cleared mine.
  4. So I after finishing my Colosseum RNG abuse run, I noticed that the legendary dogs I left for the post-game (to be able to catch them with trade-only balls) are flagged as illegal. Met location for those is: Deep Colosseum (C) Agate Village (XD)
  5. I started a couple saves with different computers to find that Espeon is detected as illegal (when it was generated IG). What I checked with this, is that Umbreon's PID and IVs are generated 7 frames after the frame that corresponds to the TID/SI, but in the case of Espeon, the IV spread is generated (as I expected), 7 frames after Umbreon but the PID corresponds with the results two frames after that (according to RNG reporter after typing my initial seed there). Is this a problem of PkHeX or is it just me?
  6. Hello. I'm attempting to use my Pokemon Colosseum game save taken from my Gamecube's nintendo memory card, and transfer it to either another memory card, or onto my computer. However, I run into a snag when doing this. Utilizing GCMM, I attempted to backup the save, and restore the save onto a different memory card. When entering the game, the game save loads fine, except that I cannot save the game to that memory card, stating a message similar to "This is not the same memory card as the one associated with the game data. Please insert the correct memory card to continue saving" This happens on both the memory card, and on dolphin emulator. I even tried the following cheat on my game cube: Make Game Save Copyable [Ralf] QBG7-6X4E-UN7DU NH26-2519-VTJPM 6M8C-N29E-1Z7JW XU5Y-MH41-JCGCQ CVWN-QFAZ-UWB1B V2ZY-PM7G-8MCKZ Am I forgetting a step, or is this actually impossible to do at the moment?
  7. Hello! I'm brand new here but I've been using PKHeX for a little while now. I decided to replay both Pokemon Colosseum and Pokemon XD on the Gamecube recently. Upon completion of both, I traded over every single Pokemon from both games into my Emerald game cart. I went and opened it up in PKHeX so I could transfer some easily into my Sun game and noticed a few things regarding the legality checking for Pokemon originating in these games. The mistakes I've found are as follows: According to PKHeX, all Pokemon snagged in Pokemon Colosseum should have a 'Fateful Encounter' flag. If it's missing, it marks the Pokemon saying, "Invalid: Special ingame Fateful Encounter flag missing." This is not correct. Pokemon snagged in Colosseum do not have a fateful encounter flag (Only Pokemon snagged from XD do). The Eevee you get as your starter in Pokemon XD does have a 'Fateful Encounter' flag by default but PKHeX seems to think that it shouldn't, stating, "Invalid: Fateful Encounter should not be checked." Again, this is incorrect and the Eevee starter from XD should in fact have a fateful encounter flag. Similarly, any wild Pokemon encountered at PokeSpots in Pokemon XD do have fateful encounter flags but PKHeX wrongly says they shouldn't. Finally, the Elekid (nicknamed ZAPRONG) you can trade for at the Outskirt Stand in XD states, "Invalid: Invalid Met Level, expected 0." This value should be 20, not 0. New: Female Snorunt caught in XD, transferred to a newer gen, and evolved to Froslass is being marked as illegal. Invalid Moves, Ribbons, and Unable to match encounter from origin game. It seems to not make the connection that a XD Snorunt could potentially be evolved to Froslass later down the line. File added below. All of this data was gathered by me personally. Both games were played through start to finish without any cheats, glitches, or save file editing (Minus the Colosseum Master Ball glitch ). Basically, the data is accurate. I'm not sure how much you guys really care about making sure the legality checking for Colosseum/XD is 100% accurate but I figured I could at least contribute this information. Hopefully it makes it into the next patch! Any further questions, feel free to reply here or send me a message! Hopefully this helps someone! SPECULATION: I believe some of these issues stem from the 'Origin Game' part of the 'Met' tab. Colosseum and XD share an option for Origin Game, when they really should be two separate options. Possible Solution?: Would it be possible for PKHeX to check Pokemon species and 'met level' to determine which game it originated in (Between Colosseum/XD)? Then figure out if there should be a fateful encounter flag present or not based on that? Even though there are some Pokemon available in both games, the met level will never be the same between the two games as every encounter has a set level except for the wild Pokemon in XD. But even those, you can still determine based on species and met level which game they came from. Edit: Examples of each kind of Pokemon are uploaded below. Colosseum Shadow Pokemon: 234 - STANTLER - 76BA9444C749.pk3 XD Starter/Eeveelution: 135 - JOLTEON - 2BCE45382A22.pk3 XD Wild Pokemon: 231 - PHANPY - 712EE213A4D6.pk3 XD Elekid Trade: 239 - ZAPRONG - 2B43457A38A1.pk3 XD Original Snorunt transferred from XD (Legal): 361 - SNORUNT - 36150E9F6D0C.pk3 XD Snorunt transferred into Gen 7 now evolved to Froslass being marked as illegal: 478 - Froslass - 18500E9F6D0C.pk7
  8. I have been reading about the Japanese bonus disc for colosseum and I keep seeing that the disc transfers 1 celebi to colosseum and then you can transfer up to 48 more to japanese gba games. I was wondering if this means it is a total of 49 per disc or if you can repeat this and get more than 49 (such as beat the game again on a different save file and then you get another 49 more).
  9. Can someone please tell me how to RNG a shiny in Colosseum? I haven't seen any clear guides on this. I've seen bits of information, but nothing like how the RNG is generated, what frames to select, how to know which frame you need for which TID and so forth. Can anyone write a guide up for it or point me towards information on how to do this?
  10. Hello readers! About a year ago I found on an archived Geocities Page linked via a strange Pokemon forum a zip file which contained a readme, and a strange binary file called colbtl.bin that is to be used to replace Pokemon Colosseum NTSC-U's copy with a program, that instead of GBA trading over the link cable, flashes any region of RS with a self-contained save file that is expanded. The gba displays info with a splash screen, while the Gamecube appears to fail the trade. I have painstakingly dumped this save file via FIX94's tool. You need to extract this zip file, grab colbtl.bin, put it into a Legit US (or possibly British/Aussie) Colosseum ISO (using GCISOTOOL, GCISOREBUILDER, or GCMTool, maybe wiiscrubber), and replace the file. You also need a way of loading the iso, so either PSO, XenoGC, Wode Jukebox, Swiss, Nintendont, Devolution, Wiikey/Wasp Fusion, QOOB, or other loaders/chips. No actual Nintendo rom code is in the zip file, all of it was freely given as public domain by an ancient hacking group. I suspect FIX94's PokeLoad Gamecube HB exploit for Colosseum and GoD, would be able to allow a talented GC hacker to make some sort of .dol executable on a memcard, that has Ralf@gc-forever's Colosseum Codes for enabling, farming, and Swapping the Ageto Celebi Event out for a selection of events, or allow them to hex it in, along with patching and loading colbtl.bin from the card's dol to trick Colosseum into flashing duplicate saves. There is no current way to set the save file in the colbtl.bin file. Hopefully some data can be found so that the data can be swapped like how Decchi.bin has swappable wondercards. Here is the zip, which also has my personal save file. That one has the word current in the filename. colbtlsv.zip
  11. Hi, is there any way I can get Ho-Oh from Colosseum to Emerald without the GBA-GC-Linkcable? I don't have the cable for my Wii and I wouldn't want Ho-Oh on my retail game anyway So is there a way to transfer Ho-Oh (and later Lugia from ) to my Emerald rom? I tried connecting VBA-M to Dolphin but that doesn't work.
  12. I am playing Ruby on VBA-M and I really want "legit" Wishmaker Jirachi (Salac Berry), Channel Jirachi (Ganlon Berry) and Ageto Celebi (Agate Celebi would be even better: https://tcrf.net/Pok%C3%A9mon_Colosseum#Japanese_Bonus_Disc) in my save. Berries can be other way around ofc. So I am looking for someone who I can send my .sav file to so he can transfer those 3 Pokemon to the original GBA game and then trade them with my save using GBA flashcart. Another option is to dump the save file from original GBA game after transfering and then I can trade using VBA Link. Is there anyone here kind enough to do this? This could be useful: http://digiex.net/downloads/download-center-2-0/consoles-homebrew/1934-gamecube-pokemon-colosseum-japanese-bonus-disc-download-ntsc-j.html http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?6586-Pokemon-Colosseum-save-file-from-%28U%29-lt-gt-%28J%29
  13. **The first part of my tutorials is here if you're looking for it - -hacking-tutorial-part-1-File-decompression-recompression'>http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?46250-Stars-Pokemon-colosseum-and--hacking-tutorial-part-1-File-decompression-recompression** images: There are still a lot of things I haven't been able to figure out on my own so far. It is to be hoped, that with my knowledge of pokemon colosseum and hacking now available to more people we will see some progress. Some things on the list are things I've started to piece together but got stuck. Some things I just couldn't find at all. I. physical/special split Done II. Editing map scripts Done III. Editing textures Done IV. Editing models - Things I haven't been able to figure out at all - I. Where is the weakness/resistance table ?! Done It's been in the same format in all the other games but I can't seem to figure it out for colosseum or . II. I know where the sound files are but I don't know how to edit them. Their file names and magic bytes might give the formats away though. I just don't know much about music formats and its a low priority for me. III. ASM hacking Done The majority of it will be in start.dol. The gamecube runs on the powerPC architecture which is very well documented and in fact I have a hex editor on my mac that was able to disassemble the code for me without me needing to specify any details. My assemly programming isn't great though as I kind of missed those lectures in uni ... (damn!) Understanding the game's programming could allow all sorts of hacks like making new move effects (e.g. trick room or quiver dance), make new abilities (e.g. adaptability or mega launcher) increasing the walking speed or adding new battle mechanics from later generations like drizzle expiring or not switching in your next pokemon when one dies until the end of the turn (For those who don't know, back in gen III, in double battles if one pokemon fainted you had to replace it straight away meaning if you doubled up on a slot then you could knock out that pokemon and then hit the next pokemon switched in on the same turn). We could also change things like the chances of finding shiny pokemon (which is set to 0 in ) or the critical hit chances and damage multiplier like in gen VI. 14. i've been asking on quite a few sites to try and find out whether umbreon and espeon can be shiny through SRing (and got a lot of mixed answers); i already know eevee in xd can be shiny but i'd rather try in colosseum.
  15. Title says it all, i would also like to know how you approached the issue and achieved the results thanks! Pokecheck for it: https://www.pokecheck.org/?pk=10199210 .pkm file for it: fg5.pkm
  16. Hi everyone, um... I've recently been researching shiny pokemon in colosseum and noticed that if a shiny pokemon is encountered and caught then there's a 1/8192 chance of it retaining it's shiny-ness. Right so I was wondering, is it possible to: Save, find an unseen shadow pokemon (up to now like... starting a new game saving and buping into the shadow Bayleef) and then battle it and catch it. Check if it is a shiny then hitting the reset button if it isn't. If I kept this up would I eventually find a shiny shadow pokemon or would it be the same everytime? Thanks, Shay.

  18. Pretty much what it says. Which Snagger do you like the most, and why?
  19. I'd really like to to back up my Pokemon Colosseum (and XD when I get around to playing it) save file to my computer, in case my memory card gets lost/broken/etc. I've used MCBackup to copy it to my computer, but I gather copying it back to a different (or reformatted) memory card doesn't work because it's encrypted with the serial number of the memory card it was saved on. Obviously, this (pretty much) destroys the purpose of backing it up in the first place. Has this issue ever been sorted out? Is there some way to unencrypt the save files? I know there are other threads on this topic, but it looks like the most recent one is over a year old, and someone may have figured it out in the meantime. Has anyone tested whether copying the raw image of the memory card and then restoring it to a different card, or the same one after reformatting, works? I can't find anything that says either way, and I don't really want to buy a USB Memory Adapter in order to back up and restore memory card images, only to find out it doesn't work. For that matter, is there an application that can backup/restore the images without a USB Memory Adapter? (I have an SD Media Launcher.) Thanks Edit: Never mind! I bought a couple of spare memory cards and tested some stuff out. It seems to work just fine just backing up the save files with GCMM 10 and my SD Media Launcher  I'll leave this here in case anyone's looking for the information. And then if you restore the backup, you can copy/move it between memory cards as you normally would on your GameCube.
  20. We're getting plenty of new Pokemon games, with HG/SS, and the recently announced Gen 5 games. But the awesome Shadow Pokemon remain quiet. After the huge disappointment of Battle Revolution not having a plot, there has been no word of continuing the Shadow Pokemon or Orre stories. And I, for one, want more. Lots more. The Shadow Pokemon games brought a huge amount of depth to the games. The Shadow state, as it was in its refined form, brought a careful balance of utility versus hindrance. Do you keep a Shadow Pokemon to strike opponents and wall enemy Shadow Pokemon as you whittle down their HP? Or do you purify them to learn otherwise-unobtainable moves and level up/evolve? Double Battle are for more interesting than single battle, offering new strategies, rebalancing the standard tiers, and helping to remove the "favorite syndrome" that has plagued Pokemon games since Gen 1 (playing with just your starter or a single other Pokemon the entire game because you are attached to it and feel no need to switch). The limited number of Pokemon also had a nice change. The "catch-em-all" focus was still there, but limited to the Shadow Pokemon (you could import others via trade, but without the Pokedex, there was no in-game reason to do so). And the limited availibility kept you switching your team around to find the best combinations and kept you experimenting. The game also improved in other ways. The removal of HMs meant that you no longer had to waste a third of your team on moves that had zero battle applicability. The removal of Gyms meant that you got to feel as though saving the region was actually your primary objective, rather than an annoyance that was getting in the way of your trip to the Elite Four (seriously, how many Pokemon games feel like the only reason you are bothering to take out Team Rocket or their latest copycats is because the jerks won't let you leave the stupid city until you wipe them out?!). The plot was also generally improved in most sections, I felt, and I would love to see it continue. While Cipher may have actually been crushed at the end of , there still exists the means to create Shadow Pokemon, and there are still plenty of entities out there who would wish to do so. There also exist a number of Legendaries who could potentially be turned to Shadow Pokemon. Darkrai would be a natural choice (although I would actually kind of like to see Darkrai remaining a good guy among several other Shadow Legendaries, including Cresselia). Not to mention that, since the Azure Flute has yet to be released, there is still an Arceus on top of Spear Pillar. And Shadow Arceus would be one heck of a replacement for -001.
  21. hi, i just finished the game in about 3 days of playing, but over like a month, and it was really good i think! it was my first time playing it. it took around like 20 hours, and yeah, i'm just wondering how long it took other people. it was challenging for me, because i ONLY used unbreon and espeon, and left all the other pokemon untouched to put on my ds later. and soon i can get celebi! wooooooo! did anyone else use the two pokemon only?
  22. I never fall asleep with any games or tv shows, and wasn't tired when I played, but for some reason when I played Collosseum I eventually had trouble staying awake. Did anyone else have this problem? (I LOVE pokemon for those who think I am insulting it, I'm not.)
  23. A similar topic was back in July but its over a month old and I didn't want to get in trouble for reviving an old thread. Basically I'm looking for a completed save file of Pokemon Colosseum with all pokemon including Jirachi and Ho-Oh if possible. I need them in .gci format. I've seen the ones up on gamefaqs. One looks perfect but it is in .gcs format and despite my best attempts with a hex editor and a tool called gcs2gci I can't convert it. The other two saves there that are in .gci format are awful. Can anyone help me out with this? I'd really appreciate any help. Thank you.
  24. Who was easier to obtain for you? Colosseum's Ho-oh or 's Lugia? [sprite]249[/sprite] or [sprite]250[/sprite] Lugia or Ho-oh To obtain Lugia and transfer it to a GBA game you need: To purify its heart. And to do so, you must have all purify chambers in their maximum rotations. That requires all other shadow Pokemon to be there. And when that happens... [sprite]249[/sprite] ^ This becomes into this ^ And to obtain the Legendary Bird [sprite]250[/sprite] Ho-oh, is needed that the player completed the story mode. And after all of the game is done is left only one thing: To take the Mt.Battle Challenge. This is a bit hard but should be the same. The protagonist must battle 100 trainer without going back or leaving. There is a bonus try every time you loose. If you battle without loosing until the very top can have up to 15 tries. However even if you defeat the #100 trainer Mattle, you need to have a spare spot in your first box.
