Hey there, I've been looking into some of the information when it comes to XY/ORAS hacking, and I have three quick questions I was a little confused about- 1. Is CRO editing causing black screens a limitation of pk3ds, HANS, or just the game in general? I've read at different places it's possible to work with HANS, but most places say that just simply looking at the CRO options breaks the romhack. First thing I did when trying to hack Alpha Sapphire is mess with the typings ... so something tells me that hack isn't going to work any time soon. So, I guess... will CRO editing ever work, or is it already working? 2. This one is less relevant to ROM hacking but it leads to my third question- Is it possible to take a backup of a digital save, erase the save in-game, make a new save, and then transfer the checksum from that save to the old one? Or, anyway, any possible way of being able to recover the save on a digital game? I know it was previously possible with the QR scanning, but that doesn't appear to be possible anymore. The current save manager thing also doesn't seem to get past the backup check, so it doesn't really have much use. 3. Is it absolutely necessary to delete your XY/ORAS save in order to load a hack? I noticed that I was having an incredibly difficult time loading Starlit Sapphire and Neo X on my 3DS, but as soon as I deleted my AS save, Starlit worked. I can't delete my X save though, because it's a digital copy. So I'm wondering if it won't work because it's digital, because I have to delete the save, or because I did something else stupid without realizing it. Hopefully this is in the right spot and the number of questions here is okay. I'd really appreciate the help! -
So im playing as steven and i want to change the map sprite to stevens head and the continue buttons play head to steven from the PSS but i cant find them anywhere in the a folders. Does anyone know where they are for sure. -

Smealum shows the new version 2.5 homebrew, and states that rom hacks are now possible. He showed off Omega Ruby "Smea Edition". How do we randomize our own save files with this new homebrew version? So... yesterday I've been working all day (literally all day) to try and find a way to dump my Pokémon X game or to decrypt a downloaded pokémon Y file (to use Pk3ds to randomize it), I found out that you either need an older version of the 3ds (4.5 to 9.2 I believe), which mine is running 9.9 and downgrade seems not to be possible, or a gateway, I already bought a Sky3ds which should be arriving in a few days, so my question is, is there anyway to dump and decrypt my Pokémon X or to decrypt the Pokémon Y ROM I have? Also, I managed to download an already decrypted AS ROM which would be ok for randomizing but when Winrar opens it it says it's corrupted and some items like code.bin banner.bin and icon.bin seem not to be in the files (not sure if it's because of the corrupted download), is there anyway I could use this files to randomize AS? If none of this is possible I would really apreciate if someone were to PM me a randomized ROM or the needed files for Pk3ds. Thanks in advance and sorry for any grammar errors since my first language is not english, also this is my first post and if I did anything wrong... Well sorry haha

i want to look at textures, models, files and stuff for x/y, oras and other pokemon games. i know i need to use action replay to connect the game to the computer, but once im there how do i skip the action replay hack stuff and look at the files? also do i need to use a rom hacking program to look at the files or is that just for editing? keep in mind i dont want to hack the game i just want to look at the files. -

Greetings, Im trying to figure how to swap the battle backgrounds, i've seen this "BVEditor" but i want to play battles with different background. I found how to swap trainer models, music, but battle backgrounds it's something i can't find any extra info. Where do i need to change ? Or what steps do i need to accomplish ? Thanks !

I keep seeing people talk about the Gateway-3ds for using the ORAS randomizer, but I have a patched 3ds. According to the website, the Sky3ds will work on the last patched 3ds system. Has anyone used the Sky3ds for running a randomized rom?

I Have the new 3ds xl capture carded for my youtube channel. However my old 3ds is on version 9.0 and I use it to inject boxes of pokemon. Is there any way to edit the values that correspond with the vs recorder background? It may have nothing to do with values and correspondence. But you know what I mean.

I'm wondering if anyone has done any documentation on the Gamecube Pokemon games? Mainly on how or where they store Trainer data or items found. -
Now before I begin I will say yes, I do own a legal copy of Pokémon Red in fact I bought it when it was new. Anyway I'm thinking about making a video later this month that's like this: The player goes to Route 1 and a level 95 Scolipede uses hyper beam. My question is how is the best way to make it look as believable as possible? For starters I'm not sure how to make a Scolipede sprite look like it's from Pokémon Red, honestly I think I might even need someone else to make that sprite for me, don't worry when I make the video I will give credit to whoever does it. I'm sure I don't have to entirely edit the ROM itself, I can just modify the ROM a little bit and do the rest of the edits in Movie Studio Platnium 13.0 which is the program I use. My plan is just remove the sprite from the Pokémon Red game, and add it back in in the program. But I'm not sure how I'll make it work, that's why I'm asking. Any help would be appreciated, thank you. -
so I got attracted to this site as I saw this randomizing nuzlockes and people editing their games almost like pokegen. Anyway I am pretty clueless on how any of stuff works and am just trying to learn everything I can about this idea since it seems really cool especially the results I have seen people randomizing their games changing the main characters etc. I gathered 3ds/2ds need to have certain firmwares to make it work but that's about all I learned so far. like what other requirements are needed to really start doing rom editing (programs physical equipment etc) also im kind of new to forums so hopefully me posting this isn't a problem. I know not a lot to work with here.

I want restore 3 items missing in the remake: BERSERK GENE, RAGE CANDY BAR and SLOWPOKé TAIL, rage candy and slowpoké tail are present but key items, they must be regular items, Slowpoké's Tail have a price of 9800$, Rage candy of 300$ and the rage candy bar must be a medicine that recover 20 HP (it's the copy of the POTION) and both cannot be held, like Kurt's balls. This 2 items after must be present into the mart of Maoghany town (RAGE CANDY is selled by the granny, SLOWPOKé TAIL by the fake seller of the Team rocket, it's the same market but are different the set), I don't know how hack the mart! BERSERK GENE it's an held item that have the same effect of the move SWAGGER (raise the attack of the pokémon that held it of two stage and confuse it) and once used disappear the price is of 200$. Only the Berserk gene should be held and if the player save the game should return in the bag for avoid compatibility problems with other games, the griseus orb back to the bag if you save before the link, but not if you save normally, but is better if the berserk gene back into the bag with every save, because with the pokéwalker link on Viridian City is possible fight with the linked friend and also you can view the item held by the first pokémon of the party and if it held the berserk gene not is right, otherwise a way to block the pokéwalker link if your first pokémon held the berserk gene. For a last thing it's better also hat in every link room the Berserk Gene become an hide item like the Griseus orb to avoid of assign it, Griseus orb disappear only if you are linked with Diamond and Pearl and if you are into the common union room, Berserk gene have to be hide into the bag in every link room to avoid problems with the other games. Perhaps the Berserk gene is too hard but I think will be possible fix RAGE CANDY and SLOWPOKé TAIL, can you help me please? -
