I wasn't able to find an Anime/Cartoon based .PKM collection. I thought we as a community could create a thread dedicated to this theme. Please note: these files are meant to be used with Pokémon versions HeartGold & SoulSilver. I thought we could start by making Ash's Pokémon† and then go from there... † I will be using in-game Trainer Red's Pokémon as templates somewhat. What this means is, I booted up my SoulSilver game, went to go battle Red, and when I got to him, I used a code to capture his Pokémon. So far, I've only caught his Pikachu (once you capture one opponent's Pokémon, the battle ends). Pikachu's IVs were all 30. It seems as if the rest of Red's Pokémon have IVs of 30 as well. I'll confirm this soon... Note: Please feel free to post a reply with ANY helpful and accurate information so I can add it to this opening post. This thread should be assumed to have spoilers. I've put my review (not summary) in spoilers, but responders probably won't/shouldn't put it in spoilers bracket. So everything past the summary = spoilers. Be warned Oh, these episodes have only aired in Japan. This contains spoilers since this episode has obviously not aired in the US as of yet. If there's enough interest in this, I might do this every week for new episodes, and maybe do episode discussions of older episodes. Of course, anyone is welcome to do episode discussion threads, but let's see how it goes. Japanese names tend to be used since I'm discussing the Japanese episode, but I tend to switch back and forth :\ Summary:Shinji and Satoshi have a full 6 on 6 battle, at the suggestion of Shinji's brother, Reiji. They end the first episode on even grounds, but the 2nd episode has one finishing far ahead of the other. It's a very game mechanic heavy battle, with abilities, physical/special split, and more being referenced. -
Hey does anyone know what ever happen to the GS ball? It was showed in season 2 in the orange islands. But I don't recall the episode that ever revealed what it actually was. I assume GS stands for gold and silver but does anyone know of the episode that they talked about it?

Aura guardians are just another one of pokemon's famous myths and legends. Yet, they are mentioned in the anime several times. Like in the movie "Lucario and the mystery of mew" Lucario appeared from a staff that was 500 years old and was part of an ancient legend. Aaron was lucario's master and an aura guardian who taught lucario the ways of the aura. Lucario thought he had been betrayed but in the end Lucario knew what really happened. Ash also helps be the hero in this movie and lucario actually mistakes Ash for Aaron because of the similarities in the Aura he emits. Also in the pokemon episode "The keystone pops" there is another mentioning of the Aura guardians, however, this one was unnamed. He was in another town legend and he was the one that defeated and sealed up spiritomb so that it couldn't cause trouble anymore. This aura guardian had a pikachu, just like ash. Ash was the one that unleashed spiritomb again, plus then he sealed it back up again. Once again, in the episode "Lost Leader Strategy" They meet maylene who, has a lucario! Maylene has been having trouble finding herself confidence even with a lucario by her side. I'm sure seeing this lucario would stir up painful memories for both ash and pikachu. Lucario, is in tune with the aura as always and so is maylene. Because of the aura lucario and maylene can battle in perfect sync! Then in the episode "Pokemon ranger and the kidnapped riolu part 1" and "Pokemon ranger and the kidnapped riolu part 2" the aura is mentioned yet again. However, this time, obviously, it deals with a riolu. This is a very special riolu, that was specially raised so that it could learn the move aura sphere without evolving. This move has been known by all the other lucario's that have been seen in anime. Ironically, although if you think about it it really isn't ironic, Ash and riolu are able to communicate via aura. Meaning, their aura is extremely similar. In fact ash can even see where riolu is by sensing his aura, obviously ash is in tune with the aura when a being who is truly with the aura has been encountered. Pokedex: Lucario: Its the aura pokemon, a well trained one can sense someone half a mile away, using the aura it can sense the thoughts and movements of someone else, it can feel what others can feel, and it can understand human speech. I believe based on all of this that lucario's and riolu's are descendants of other aura guardians, humans that have mastered the aura. Perhaps that riolu that they found is a pokemon representative of the aura guardian Aaron? After all ash and that riolu were on the same aura channel. Perhaps ash's real destiny is to become a powerful aura guardian. What do you think based on all of this? Additionally, if I missed anything or my information was incorrect please post the correct info or info that I missed! Please comment!

Ok, I thought this was pretty pleasing to see. This was absolutely amazing and I'm astounded by the strength of pikachu's foe. Uberchu falls to the power of Uberzel. I'm also amazed that piplup of all pokemon was able to bring it down so that dawn could catch it. Here is the link to the episode "Buizel your way out of this" I think it would be a great episode to watch if you are a pikachu hater. Enjoy!

anime "Dealing with Defensive Types" Episode Discussion

So recently this episode aired in the USA at 8:00 A.M central time to 8:30 A.M central time. This episode held the long awaited battle between gym leader byron and Ash. Each of them used 3 pokemon and I found it to be a battle to behold. Here are the pokemon they used and a description of the battle. Ash -chimchar -buizel -glyscor Byron -bronzor -steelix -bastiodon So what did you think of this episode. I thought it was great and am looking forward to glyscor's next appearance. I also liked to see that little monkey overcome some of his fears that paul gave him from the intense training. Seeing glyscor finally battle the right way was a thriller too! I rate it a 10/10 -

I'm pretty sure that was what it was called. Only just a few minutes ago as of this post this episode aired in the USA and sure was a good one. As always I'm going to right a summary then rate the episode in the hopes that someone else will too. So what did you think? I rate it a 9/10...James made some funny comments and the battles were great, plus its good to finally see team galactic again and lucario. A pretty good episode and I cant wait till next week What did you think? -

This thread is to discuss your opinions on team galactic in the anime. Like are they efficient, not in it enough, cool, or maybe you dislike them in the anime and turn the TV off when they are in an episode. What are your thoughts. I think team galactic isn't in the anime enough. They are pretty cool and efficient I think it makes the episodes better because there operations are all planned out right down to the letter and the good guys are constantly trying to keep up. They should be in it enough. I loved the episode losing its lustrous and the one that followed it. Please comment!

I think the Anime is almost forced to redo G/S simply because of lack of things to cover. They've already stretched D/P almost to the limit as far as money and anime screen time, and unless they figure something new, they're going to lose some popularity. Thoughts?

Ok, so the title pretty much explains it but whose your favorite character? Please post why! Mine is conway because of his intelligence. His style with pokemon battling is also excellent. With his defensive type moves and using normally neglected moves to perfect effect.

Sleepless in pre-battle (I messed up with the title) This is one of the most recent pokemon episodes and today's episode. It was aired at 7:00 AM central time. Synopsis:warning, this could include spoilers if you have not seen the episode Pokemon featured: Pikachu (no duh) Swinub Cresselia Darkrai Piplup Croagunk Meowth (if team rocket is why not him?) Some other team rocket pokemon I believe were featured as well. Discuss! Did you like it, did you not like it? What could've been improved? What did you not like about it or what you liked? I liked the featureing of the legendaries and the evolution of swinub was pretty cool. However, I kind of wished swinub stayed small and cute.

I'll just copy/paste what I posted about this episode from another forum: Previously in Pokemon: A BATTLE TO THE DEATH (not really) between two big time legendary Pokemon, which are almost never featured in the anime. AND the Darkrai movie gets a continuity reference with Dawn mentioning that item she has. Oh, and Darkrai appearing (though not the same as in the movie). AND an evolution happened. That episode sucked. NOW pretty much a filler episode. No real big battle. No evolution. TR don't even "blast off." So why was this episode, featuring a Pokemon more annoying than scary or useful, was so much better? It was hilarious. This episode was full of scenes that need to be screen capped and turned into GIFs. If nothing big is going to happen. at least make it entertaining. And that's what this episode was.

The most recent episode in the Galactic Battles series (at least for the US) recently aired. It featured tons of new pokemon. Synopsis Overall a pretty good episode. What do you rank it I rank it...9/10 Discuss!

A new episode title has appeared called, "Tangrowth's Jungle". This makes me wonder if it is a pointless episode, or if someone (preferably brock) will catch a tangela or Tangrowth. I hope he does. Brock seems to be under-appreciated and doesn't seem to do very much in the anime. It would be cool to see him catch another pokemon. Opinions?

So I don't know what your experience is, but I was around when Pokemon first came to the US. I was actually growing up. The anime was even my first exposure to Pokemon, because I never owned a Pokemon game until Fire Red (about a month or so before D/P came out in the US), and had only rented Red from blockbuster years back. So about a year ago, I waxed nostalgic on the anime and viewed the older episodes. Wow, what a load of crap. Like many other shows I've re-visited, it didn't hold up. Shoddy animation, pretty poor voice acting, extremely repetitive. I know Pokemon, the franchise as a whole, has a certian amoung of formulaic crap, but man...Kanto and Orange and Johto are BAD. But then I tuned into Diamond and Pearl, and what is currently Battle Dimension. Instead of a bunch of characters that show up and are never heard from again, they keep coming back. Sometimes for just 1-3 episodes in the near future. Or other times they show up throughout the whole saga. The voice acting is greatly improved (many will disagree). The animation too. Stuff actually happens. Pokemon have personalities, and it's like I care about the characters. It's still a kids' show. But for a kids' show, it's doing a pretty good job with the hand it's been dealt with. What's your experience with the anime? I'd talk about the movies, but to me, they've universally all sucked.
