Description This promo card was only available to Japan, and even then it was not easy to come across one. There were a few different draws throughout the years in Japan, and it each time it was mailed to lucky winners, who mailed-in proof that they purchased at least 6 e-reader booster packs during the promotional period. This promo card does not store itself in some way on the save, so it could not be extracted like e-Card Trainers and e-Card Berries (as .ect and .ecb respectively); it basically ends up directly adding the doll to your save, not particularly different from the way this tool works. Additionally, @HaxAras has a page that provides a bunch of saves, as well as detailing how to transfer the dolls onto an international system. Usage In order to use this .raw, users will need a VBA link with e-reader support. Instructions on how to use the VBA link with e-reader support can be found here.
  2. This guide is for those who are interested in editing an actual trainer/berry e-Card to use with the real e-Reader. If you are capable of save editing or you are playing on an emulator it's probably easier to inject the trainer/berry into your save file directly. Requirements your custom Trainer (ECT) or Berry (ECB) of course (can be created with this tool) e-Reader dev tools (https://caitsith2.net/ereader/devtools.htm) e-Card headerfix tool headerfix.zip (source) a hex editor (like HxD) a raw e-Card which we will use as a base (English, Japanese) Editing the raw e-Card Decode your raw e-Card with nedcenc like this: nedcenc.exe -i card.raw -d -o card.bin Open the decoded card in your hex editor. Copy the header (the first 83 (0x53) bytes as seen above) and save them for later. Copy and save the VPK (starting at offset 0x53 with "vpk0") into a new file. The full VPK size can be found at offset 0x51. Keep in mind that this is written as little endian, which means if these two byte are "81 07" the actual size is 0x781 (from 0x53-0x7D3). The rest of the decoded card is just padding, you can ignore/delete it for now. You have saved the VPK into a new file, now decompress it with nevpk: nevpk.exe -i trainer.vpk -d -o trainer_decompressed.vpk Open the decompressed VPK in your hex editor. For trainers: navigate to offset 0xD50, that's where the actual trainer data (ECT) is located, it's 188 (0xBC) bytes. For berries: the data (ECB) is at offset 0x4EA, it's 530 (0x212) bytes. For trainers: replace the data from 0xD50-0xE0B with your custom trainer and save the file. For berries: replace the data from 0x4EA-0xA19 with your custom berry. Compress your edited VPK with nevpk: nevpk.exe -i mytrainer.vpk -c -o mytrainer_compressed.vpk Note the size of your new compressed VPK! Create a new file in your hex editor and paste the header you have saved earlier in step 3. Paste your compressed VPK right after the header at offset 0x53. Now fix the VPK size at 0x51 to match the new size. Remember to write it as little endian! Fix the size info at 0x26: in the image above the value is 0x020F0622 bit 9-23 is the same as your VPK size + 2 bits are counted from left to right starting with 0 the original VPK size is 0x781 + 2 = 0x783 or in bits 0000 0111 1000 0011 0x020F0622 in bits: 0000 0010 0000 1111 0000 0110 0010 0010 convert your new VPK size into bits replace the bits marked in red in the size info convert the size info value back into hexadecimal write it back to offset 0x26 Pad the card to a proper size of 2112 (0x840) bytes. You can fill the area after the VPK until 0x83F with FF. Fix the cards checksums by droping it on headerfix.exe and you are done! You are done! You can now encode your edited card back into a raw e-Card: nedcenc.exe -i custom.bin -e -o custom.raw You can use the dotcode printer from the devtools for printing, it can print dotcodes in raw or bmp format. Keep the DPI at 300, choose your card and your printer and print it! You could as well just convert your raw card into bmp (raw2bmp.exe -i card.raw -o card.bmp) and print that. So, I hope everything was clear enough, if there are still questions feel free to ask!
  3. Please, always keep a backup of your savegames! To know where this comes from, please read this thread: https://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?46883-GEN-3-Mystery-Gift-Research PC Version: https://github.com/projectpokemon/Gen3-WCTool/releases/ GC/Wii Homebrew: https://github.com/suloku/gba-link-cable-dumper/releases/ NDS Homebrew: https://github.com/suloku/savegame-manager/releases/ e-Reader savegames for Eon Ticket transfer (all regions) via Link Cable with real hardware: EON_ticket_ereader_savegames.zip Sorry, I can't make a propper post right now. I'll try to get this decent tomorrow. There are some readme included. FAQ: Q: What's the diference between using any of these injection apps and sending my cartridge to nintendo? A: None. Q: I have a ESP/GER/ITA/FRE game. If I inject the USA Mystic ticket, will this be legit? A: All evidence suggests that the USA Wondercard distributions were compatible with all non-japanese games. Game release dates make it also technically possible to have received an Emerald Mystic ticket on an European game, and we know the USA Aurora Ticket distribution device is compatible with European games (but it only distributed the english wondercard, fully opetational though). - USA and UK games are the very same game rom, so all the english events apply to both, regarless of being European or USA. - The spanish Emerald Aurora ticket wondercard is fine, Nintendo messed up and left Vermillion city instead of updating the wondercard text to Hoenn. The event was never done in Spain, but it could be received at other countries if you used the spanish cart, so it is totally legit, so don't worry, nintendo was very sloppy with this. - Nintendo also messed up the german Eon Ticket (there is photo proof from oficial german distribution that this was already known). For Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, the paired games had an exclusive feature that allowed them to scan e-Reader Cards and obtain a special berry. Pokémon holding these berries were not allowed to be traded to other main series games. Pokémon holding these berries were also not allowed to be traded to Colosseum or XD, nor transferred to Pokémon Box: Ruby and Sapphire. Once you scanned the e-reader card (or injected the berry card data), you can collect the berry from Norman in Petalburg City Gym. Pokémon holding these berries were allowed to be Pal Parked into Generation IV, however their held item would become the Enigma Berry. In Generation III, there is no legitimate way to acquire the Enigma Berry, as it is merely a placeholder in those games. Additionally, the data for these e-Card Berries do not exist in the ROM data of the Gen III games; the e-Card data is loaded into the save, and the game uses the placeholder Enigma Berry to display the stored data. So in reality, the player is merely holding onto the Enigma Berry, but the player would not know, as the data shown belongs to the e-card Berry scanned. These e-Card berries can be injected using @suloku's tool.

  6. Hello everyone, I hope you are well. Well, to put them in context, lately I've been playing Japanese or Korean language pokemon games, out of curiosity, in addition, to make a pokemon collection with these languages (Exepting events, and the 7 gene that I intend to do in Traditional Chinese). I hope to be able to share my collection in this beautiful community as a thank you for everything that has helped me, although I think I will delay a lot, but at least I think I can enjoy these games again. I'm going to be in Gen 3, with Pokemon Colosseum in Japanese, but I have a problem, I want to get Mareep, Togepi and Scizor from the e-card reader, I already have the e-reader in Japanese but I could not do The e-cards that I got functions and can get these pokemon, could you help me to make this request , I thank you heartily for your help.
  7. Not sure if this is the right place to post this. So most people know about the Japanese version of the E card Pokemon from Colosseum. What most people don't know is that there are English version of them, For the past few months I have been collecting the required tools and hardware to proceeded to see if these Pokemon could be obtain. Last night I was able to catch one of the extra shadow Pokemon Togepi in a English Copy of Pokemon Colosseum by modifying my save file. Here some Picture of me encountering the English Togpei; https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byle9GvE5WbfU0ZhMlEtVGlVZm8/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byle9GvE5WbfRk1VMDREX3lKUEU/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byle9GvE5WbfeEJMcWJheEk4dUk/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byle9GvE5WbfOHBLaDZZeDZrLUk/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byle9GvE5Wbfd2hZSGs1dWNDZm8/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byle9GvE5WbfNEtBSGFqWTVQM0k/view?usp=sharing The Requirement to catch one of these Extra Shadow Pokemon you must have; - Hex Editor (To modify your save file) - Modded Wii/GameCube - GameBoy Advance/GBA SP (Clones or Fakes wont work tested that myself) - Japanese E-Reader Plus - Link Cable to connect GBA to Wii/Gamecube - E Cards for Colosseum if you don't have these you can also print these if you have access to a good printer (E Cards )- Pokemon Colosseum USA Disc or Rom, Pal version does not work because there is know text in the E-Reader Room. - Pokemon Colosseum Japan Disc or Rom to enter the E-Reader Room Here is a Quick Tutorial On how to get the English E-Reader Pokemon. First thing before starting you'll need a complete Colosseum Save with all 48 Shadow Pokemon Purified. Step 1; Extract your save from your Memory card, you can use GCMM to do this. Step 2; Open up your save in your Hex editor and change the ''E'' in the first row to a ''J'' and save it. Now use GCMM to restore your save back to the memory card. Step 3; Now if you have a modded Wii which allows games to be played off a USB open up Japan version of Colosseum and head to Phenac City Colosseum. Go to the door on the left, there's a PC inside which you can used to save. Now extract you save and open it back up in Hex editor and change the "J" back to a "E" and then restore your save back to the Memory card. Step 4; Now that you are in the E-Reader room, connect your GBA with the Japanese E-Reader Plus inserted and talk the the person on the left which will save some data onto the E-Reader. Now you can enter the Battle Room. Step 5; Now this is the hard part if you don't have the E Cards, I payed about $600aud for a complete set. I have tried Printing these over and over again and they don't seem to scan at all, I even work at a place that does professional printing and no luck. If you are going to attempt printing these you will need a program that prints the e card files, just google search how to print E-Reader Cards and it should pop up. (E Cards )Step 6; Now all that's left is to scan the cards and battle each trainer until you reach each shadow Pokemon, Now you have yourself an Unreleased English E Reader Pokemon. Video of English Shadow Mareep; E Cards.zip
  8. Listen, this probably isn't the right place, but I don't know where else if not 'Project Pokemon'. If you know of a better place, please shoe me away there. I am only 2 cards short of a complete Japanese Fire Red / Leaf Green Battle E Collection, and also have a respectable amount of Emerald cards. I have lots of duplicates, and instead of spending $20+ per card on eBay I would love to just TRADE with someone also working on the sets. All of my cards were pulled straight from the pack and put into storage. I have an active spreadsheet I can share if someone out there is actually interested. Thanks!

  15. With the help of @Grender who handled the translation the e-Reader Berries are now in Spanish and can be used with the Spanish Gen 3 games. For scanning the cards you'll need an English e-Reader though as the e-Reader was never released in Europe. Translated e-Reader Berry Cards-Spanish.zip
  16. There's an Action Replay code out there that inserts the required data as if you just scanned all of the cards which activates the extra shadow trainers. It's how I snagged them on my US copy in conjunction with a warp code into the e-Reader room. The only thing you'll miss are the item and coupon rewards for initially defeating the e-card trainers.
  17. The Hall of Fame entries didn’t contain all the data, but if I remember correctly, the e-card trainers do. So it can swing either direction. We’ll have to see.
  18. So, if I am understanding this correctly: it is possible to alter any original Japanese E-Reader card raw file, change the region bytes to US, print, and use as if authentic? I am seeing someone capitalizing on this idea, but I am more interested in adding official Japanese trainers to FRLGE (though it appears...I could make ANY trainer?), and perhaps the Japanese Series 2 Berry Set to RS. Does this work for both NTSC-U versions of FRLG and Emerald? Or has some card reading functionality stripped out here? Or is there maybe just a flag that needs to be set in the ROM to use original Japanese cards via a Japanese E-Reader+ (after seeing this promising video) I know (while albeit a different case) NSTC-U Colosseum just blocked access to the E-Reader room, but everything still worked authentically after you get in there.
  19. You are a lifesaver. I actually own the e reader cards and have Swiss setup, so this is really about saving time for me when I do it the next time.
  20. Do you know where the language section is located? I want to make e-cards for the European versions
  21. Hi, there Poké Friends. Sorry if I revive thes conversation, but I was wondering around and find out about that mysterious room, so I searched and end up here, willing to get at thes the files of the E-cards and I can scan them into the game, we'll at least try it out, because I own a E-reader+ Rom and the Pokémon Colosseum US version in the room, but I don't have any e-card :(
  22. So I made a thread on The PokéCommunity Forums about how I got events given through Nintendo's e-Reader peripheral to work using a flashcard instead of an e-Reader or using VBA-Link and another ROM since access to an e-Reader for me was something I was not willing to wait for. I also wrote a tool for injecting event binaries into the e-Reader's save data so that the event can be sent to Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire (And Japanese FireRed/LeafGreen/Emerald if there's any card dumps of those). Poké-Reader Event Injection tool 1.1: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/34957059/GBA%20Events/Poke-Reader%201.1.zip GBA Event Pack 1.0 (You'll need this for the tool): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/34957059/GBA%20Events/GBA%20Event%20Pack%201.0.zip There's a couple of things I'd like to accomplish with this: 1. Can we get a complete set of e-Card data from all regions for all games (There's some Japan-exclusive RS berries, as well as the FRLG Battle-e and Emerald Battle-e sets that are undumped)? [if you want to see what cards there are, download the GBA Event Pack and check the included list!] 2. Can we RE the e-Card data and create custom berries and trainers to be sent to games or distributed as challenges for 3rd Gen games? 3. Can the Event BINs that I have become some kind of Gen 3 event archive format (Perhaps rename it to something useful, like .g3e (Gen 3 e-Event)? Note: If you do have e-Card events that are not in this set, and you'd like to have them added to the GBA Event Pack, PM me if you can dump your save and send me the .SAV file containing the scanned card. I don't have an e-Reader (yet), but if I can get my hands on one, I can perhaps just get scans of the cards and scan them in, providing the scans are of good enough quality.
