  1. Thank you so much! What hardware do you have? It's been a long time since I read this. Is it just a Japanese E-Reader and the Japanese cards or did you print them out?
  2. So I'm not sure if anyone is following this anymore, but since i have all the hardware and cards I've manage to scan the battle e cards into English version of Colosseum i have taken some shot of what happens when scanned. https://www.dropbox.com/s/vzp4z38iajdscff/20150706_202201.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/2tbjymnluqepbpk/20150706_195741.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/fwejqo0pyt9syx9/20150705_191858%20%281%29.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/0ybp7i0qps5pspx/20150705_191829%20%281%29.jpg?dl=0
  3. I've parsed out a few things about Trainers and their Pokemon that were missing from above. I'm just gonna repeat some of what you've already written above, just so I can make complete thoughts. It's possible some things are off, like what I've assumed to be the first and last entries of a data set. Any static values might also actually have some meaning, but they're impossible to figure out just from looking at the raw data. One thing I realized is that, if string IDs are really 4 bytes long like you describe in your tutorial part 2, then they're probably 4 bytes in all other structures too. I was able to use the Dolphin debugger to test this, changing an NPC's string ID from 0000NNNN to 1000NNNN and when I tried to speak to them they didn't say anything (the dialogue window flashed briefly, like it wanted to print but didn't have anything to print). You also said, StarsMmd, that every 7 entries is the team for a different Trainer, but it turns out that's not strictly true, because one of Ein's teams starts at 2814 and then Eagun's starts at 2822 (everything after that then continues the pattern of 7 entries per "team"). I kind of wonder if, when the game loads a team, if it just reads the first 6 Pokemon entries from that index, or if it reads to the first "empty" entry, or what; I wonder what would happen if you tried to put one "empty" entry right in the middle of a "team", or if you didn't put any empty entry for like 20 entries. At any rate, it's apparent that the game doesn't strictly care what index you give it to start (though it may care what comes after that). Also, the early Trainer/Trainer Pokemon indices may get used for externally sourced data, like e-Reader card Trainers and versus battles, given the strings associated with those Trainers. Trainer class data: In: common.fsys\common_rel.fdat Start: 0x90F70 Entry size: 0x0C (dec 12) Entry count: 42 Offsets... Trainer data: In: common.fsys\common_rel.fdat Start: 0x92ED0 Entry size: 0x34 (dec 52) Entry count: 819 This data could possibly start one "entry" farther back, at a "round" 0x92ED0. All of the bytes for that entry would be 0 except for offset 0x00, which would be 2. I don't know of any way to say for sure that it can't start there... Maybe if I found whatever structure defines which Trainer/team is in a map. Offsets... Trainer Pokemon data: In: common.fsys\common_rel.fdat Start: 0x9FE28 Entry size: 0x50 (dec 80) Entry count: 5510 Offsets... And, just because the Pokemon data uses Natures and I'm not sure of a "good" place to post this... Nature data: In: common.fsys\common_rel.fdat Start: 0x122E60 Entry size: 0x28 (dec 40) Entry count: 25 Offsets...
  4. All I wait about the e-reader now is what is this unreleased 21st us card in pokemon colosseum? It can be really interesting to force-load this content. Source: https://tcrf.net/Pok%C3%A9mon_Colosseum
  5. Haha what perfect timing for this! I had borrowed an e-Reader from a friend over a decade ago and I had a lot of fun scanning in my Pokémon cards that had minigames on them, but when I learned that you could also get events using Mystery Events in R/S, I was bummed that I couldn't do any of that until I thought of my workaround the other night. I was able to, after a bit of playing around, get a custom code to generate that could be scanned after I finally got the first ever custom Battle-e card working. I put a proof-of-concept trainer with my own team on it to try it out, and it does work. I'm working on purchasing an e-Reader (Hopefully today if any places in the city have one) and attempt to make use of the code by use of scanning. Not for e-Reader stuff specifically as far as I know, but there is an IRC I frequent on, and we can join their main channel, or even make an e-Reader specific channel on there.
  6. Nice work! I've actually been working on the same thing but for different games for quite a while now. It's great to see things moving on the Pokémon e-Reader front as well. CaitSith2's nedcmake and nedcenc can do this for you. Nedcmake takes vpk data and header info, and creates a bin file with header, and can create raw and bmp (!) files as well. Nedcenc can transform bin files to raw and vice versa. Personally I've found nedcenc is a bit more reliable when dealing with multi-card applications. Is there an IRC channel for this?
  7. I was given a bunch of Emerald and FRLG e-cards yesterday, so I'm working on being able to edit trainers, and I intend to start working on berry editing soon as well. I presume I can probably take the Ginema Berry data and perhaps region-convert it and get it working on a USA copy of the e-Reader (And perhaps get it imported into USA copies of Ruby/Sapphire!). Thanks for that card, it'll definitely be welcoming to get more additions to this collections after I sort through the Emerald and FRLG Japanese cards (These of which can lead to custom Battle Tower games in the Japanese copies of those games). I've also been planning on working to creating a BIN converter to make them able to be scanned using a dot code. I plan to test this when I get an actual e-Reader, which I hope to accomplish tomorrow morning, else get one on eBay and hope that the card reader works.
  8. Wow, that is a great tool you made Team Fail! Actually there are more e-Cards already dumped and out there on the internet. But they are all in raw format and not available as bin files as far as I know. Though you could decode them to bin with Caitsith2's nedcenc.exe they wouldn't have the same format as yours. But they contain the proper vpk data which is still usefull in my opinion! Just remove the first 81 bytes and the last 98 bytes of the decoded bin to get the vpk. This can then be "fixed" by recreating the 54 bytes header to get a proper bin in usable format. Here's my fixed version of the Ginema Berry. Maybe you already know, but Japanese e-Card data can only be used properly on Japanese e-Readers since the game will just get an loading error when trying to receive the data on an English game. Also the e-Card does contain text which will appear corrupted. Ginema Berry (JP).zip
  9. Right now, everything is based purely on the e-Reader end of things, since Mystery Events did not use Wondercards, rather stuff was sent and a message telling you something was displayed (Such as the Eon Ticket telling you to visit Norman or saying a new trainer arrived in Hoenn when using a Battle-e card). Mystery Gift, on the other hand, did. If I can find a way to rip Pokémon Fire Red/Leaf Green/Emerald events, then that'd definitely be a possibility, although some events were distributed as e-Reader events in Japan since the e-Reader flourished there much better than it did in North America (Hence its axing in Europe).
  10. Kinda surprised this place isn't much in-tune with getting these events preserved. Anyways, Bond697 pointed me to the direction of some GBA save editor source code. After making my way through the source, I managed to find some checksum stuff I needed to validate the trainer data checksum in the save data. And with that... Battle-e cards are now fully editable and distributable.
  11. Just wanted to give this a gentle nudge. Yesterday was a day full of research and coding, and with the help of SciresM, the application can now handle modified e-Card data safely. That is, it is now possible to edit the e-Card data, and the program will ensure that the checksums are correct (And if they're not, it'll attempt to fix it), as well as the size of the compressed data, known as VPK data, within the save file. It now means I can do this: The data is now fully editable and recompressable with the assistance of caitsith's application, nvpktool. It was also caitsith that found the CRC method, and I attempted to port it to C# from C, while SciresM fixed it completely. So feel free to toss him a thanks if you do make use of the application! Anyways, the OP has been updated with a new link to Poké-Reader 1.1.
  12. So I made a thread on The PokéCommunity Forums about how I got events given through Nintendo's e-Reader peripheral to work using a flashcard instead of an e-Reader or using VBA-Link and another ROM since access to an e-Reader for me was something I was not willing to wait for. I also wrote a tool for injecting event binaries into the e-Reader's save data so that the event can be sent to Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire (And Japanese FireRed/LeafGreen/Emerald if there's any card dumps of those). Poké-Reader Event Injection tool 1.1: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/34957059/GBA%20Events/Poke-Reader%201.1.zip GBA Event Pack 1.0 (You'll need this for the tool): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/34957059/GBA%20Events/GBA%20Event%20Pack%201.0.zip There's a couple of things I'd like to accomplish with this: 1. Can we get a complete set of e-Card data from all regions for all games (There's some Japan-exclusive RS berries, as well as the FRLG Battle-e and Emerald Battle-e sets that are undumped)? [if you want to see what cards there are, download the GBA Event Pack and check the included list!] 2. Can we RE the e-Card data and create custom berries and trainers to be sent to games or distributed as challenges for 3rd Gen games? 3. Can the Event BINs that I have become some kind of Gen 3 event archive format (Perhaps rename it to something useful, like .g3e (Gen 3 e-Event)? Note: If you do have e-Card events that are not in this set, and you'd like to have them added to the GBA Event Pack, PM me if you can dump your save and send me the .SAV file containing the scanned card. I don't have an e-Reader (yet), but if I can get my hands on one, I can perhaps just get scans of the cards and scan them in, providing the scans are of good enough quality.
  13. Web injection exploit allows you to modify any 6G savefile at will (or so) using PKHex, needing only an active internet connection and a firmware below 9.5.0-22, so you can't use that on your 3DS because you're on 9.5.0-23. Gateway is the equivalent of a linker for 3DS games. It allows you to do a lot of things, including playing games with it. You can access the savefile from any game you play on it, and modify it at will using PKHex. But you need a 3DS below 9.2 firmware to set it up, so this won't help you either. Cybergadget is something like a card reader, that allows you to read your savefile and modify it through PKHex. It only works for japanese games, which you can only play on a japanese 3DS (or anything in the same region) so you can't use it with your european 3DS (I know it's an european 3DS because of the letter E at the end of your firmware, US have U and Japan has J). With your current console, the only cheating device you can use is Datel's Powersave. It's a cartridge reader which allows you to modify your save through a bunch of codes provided by Datel. Unfortunately it doesn't allow you to retrieve your savefile and modify it with PKHex, but you can still do things like cloning or maxing IVs easily. Don't know if I answered your questions, tell me if you have more precise questions. Also, I assume you know about PKHex since you posted in its dedicated forum, that's why I didn't explain it to you.
  14. Hi everyone is there someon e here who can make black 2 play as red with all overall sprite? Trainer card/ Mugshot battle/ xtranceiver. ETC HElp me please i really want to play as red in pokemon black 2
  15. You should look at rxTools, which looks like it can boot into emuNAND as long as the system firmware is 9.2. There's also MT Card's emuNAND, but I think that needs firmware 4.X, which may require a downgrade (which is a little dangerous). Setting up emuNAND with either, and updating emuNAND should let you still use the eShop and the browser exploits, just make sure it's the emuNAND being updated (only done through system settings, ensuring the proper prefix in front of the system version, GW3D, MT, or RX-E.)
  16. this works with my retail pokemon Y but not with my gateway oras rom.. I am on system nand 9.2.. I am not running any type of emunand and when I get to the step where the web browser is supposed to crash .. my web browser just freezes even tho on th e bottom screen it says loadcode loading .. I am doing every step very carefully and this does work with my retail pokemon y .. can anyone confirm it doesnt work with roms on gw? note: checked my sd after i forced my 3ds to shut.. it did create "injectiondebug.bin" on the root of the sd card.. and yes I tried clearing history and cookies and initializing save also when I load up the injectiondebug.bin in pkHEx it does appear to be the pokemon that I created.. the problem is the web browser freezes every single time and no combination of buttons or amount of time unfreezes the system. it requires a full force shutdown.. any feedback would be appreciated again I am on system nand 9.2 with no emu and it is a rom
  17. Um guys I did everything right and i till have no genning on my ds could someone please help me figure this out? I put the files in my e which is my sd card in the base folder opened my game checked the box and did the load code nothing.
  18. So let me see if I understand this correctly... If I buy a Japanese version of Colesseum and a Japanese e-reader. Then print out the cards I need for the e-card room, I would be able to get in without using any hacks? Also can someone send me the files I will need of the cards for the 3 e-Pokemon to get. In essence the cards I will need to print, can I get a download link to them?
  19. On your SD card, go in to the Nintendo 3DS folder, then in the alphanumerical folder, then another one, then for OR, it is title\00040000\0011C400\data, for AS, it is \title\00040000\0011C500\data. So, for example, your Omega Ruby save would be E:\Nintendo 3DS\*\*\title\00040000\0011c400\data\00000001.sav Assuming your SD card is drive E, and those two asterisks are a bunch of letters and digits.
  20. Seems to be more too it. I just got the Streetpass and the Eon Ticket wasn't spread, so just a Wonder Card with the E-ticket is clearly not sufficient. I'm not far enough through to verify that the Eon Ticket is non-functional but since it isn't streetpassing it seems like a fairly safe bet. ETA - Going to try one more streetpass in case the save reflection to Streetpass didn't work properly the first time but I'd say that odds are that there's more to this ETA2 - I know its going to be available by code in Japan which suggests a Wonder Card as the medium but it might require a Wonder Card with a particular ID or something (like an unusual number of items for the Eon Ticket) (unless they've introduced an additional mechanism). So as far as Wonder Cards go it seems likely that we'll have to wait for the event to happen in order to be able to check. I might try messing around with event flags and seeing if that does anything but given the number of flags it seems like something of a fools errand. ETA3- Upon checking the official site I see notifications it won't be out until the 26th. I wonder if the Eon Ticket code in the game is locked and requires a patch hmmm. ETA4 - Realized I skip a step in my thinking. If you check the official site: http://www.pokemonrubysapphire.com/en-au/story/obtain-the-eon-ticket , you can click on the arrows under the 1st post and see an event thats supposed to follow you getting the Eon Ticket, getting the Eon Ticket via my Wonder Card didn't result in that event happening, so there's definitely more to it. Short of aimlessly trying varying combinations of WC IDs and item quanities it seems all that can be done is to wait to the 26th and hope someone submits a Coro Coro card or that it is patch locked and will be unlocked on the 26th, in which case I'll retry the wonder card then. As an alternative you could dump the ROM and decrypt it and comb through the data looking for aything to do with the Eon Ticket event.
  21. Don't post based on here-say. Digital copies will never be editable as the NAND stores data from specific E-Shop saves to prevent save file backup/restore; physical cartridges can't directly interface with a computer like an SD card can, so they do not have any anti-restore. Flashcarts don't do 6.0 encryption properly, and they save games with bad encryption, making them incompatible with unhacked consoles (and thus only playable on hacked ones unless you delete the save). -- Please keep to topics directly related to PKHeX.
  22. I've had interest in this for a very long time. I'm still looking to get a printer and Jap E-Reader/E-Reader +. I've got complete English and Japanese saves for Colosseum so I could just scan the cards and finally get these Pokemon. My goal is to eventually just buy the card packs online. If anybody is interested in a complete Japanese Pokemon Colosseum save let me know. I've uploaded it to the internet and used it to get a few Ageto Celebi.
  23. RELEASE: VBA LINK + E-READER There is a VBA version with link cable emulation There is a VBA version with e-reader emulation compatible with raw files But there isn't a version with both emulations at the same time, that's why, using the source code of both versions, that's why I've done a merged version of both VBA in the same emulator. Here it is: I'm not the author of the link emulation nor e9reader emulation, I only mixed both versions in one. This is a merged of VBA-Link 1.73 (link since broken) created by denopqrihg and VBA-Reader created by caitsith (http://www.caitsith2.com/), they are the real authors of these emulations HOW TO EMULATE E-READER WITH POKEMON GAMES Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire JP The American version works exactly like the Japanese, but I'll post pictures of the Japanese version anyway, because the American version is already possible to emulate the e-reader with VBA Link and .sav files 0 - If you want to use an English save, rename the save to have the same name as the Japanese ROM, and the extension must be changed to sa1. For example if we have the ROM Ruby.GBA and Japanese Pokemon "Pokemon Ruby JP.gba" the save "Pokemon Ruby.sav" should be renamed to "Pokemon Ruby JP.sa1" 1 - Open the emulator twice 2 - Load the Rom of Pokémon Ruby or Sapphire in the first emulator and the Rom e-reader + JP in the second emulator 3 - Press start on both emulators 4 - Select the third option of the emulator with Pokémon Sapphire (Mystery Event) 5 - Select the first option in the second emulator . A popup will open , select a raw file corresponding to the version you are using, in my case Pokémon Sapphire JP 6 - Press A on the first emulator and that's it, you have loaded a Japanese trainer or berry 7 - Change back the name of the save as it was originally and you have a Japanese e-reader berry or trainer loaded in an American save Pokémon Emerald / FireRed / LeafGreen Japanese 0 - We can do the same with the saves but this time only with Pokémon Emerald. Japanese and non-Japanese saves for FireRed and LeafGreen are not compatible 1 - Download the following saves already prepared for e-reader (it's on the download page, file name being Pokemon E-Reader Saves.rar) 2 - Open the emulator twice 3 - Load in the first emulator an Emerald/FR/LG ROM and an e-reader + JP ROM in the second emulator 4 - On the emulator with the e-reader ROM select File -> Import -> Battery File and select one of the downloaded saves, corresponding to the game that we are using and click OK. A third option will appear 5 - Pikachu appears. Press A and select a raw file for the e-reader, in this case Pokémon Emerald 6 - A Sandsdrew and 7 holes more will appear and the raw file selection will be open again. At this point you can select up to 8 different cards. If you want to load less than 8 just press cancel on the file selection, then press B and select the first option 7 - Select the third option of the first emulator and press A twice in the first emulator 8 - Then press A on the second emulator. The Sandshrew will the start to move up and down. If all went well the first emulator will restart, indicating that the data loaded properly 9 - Now the trainers will be available on the Trainer Hill. In this case you cant put back in the save in the English versions because the Trainer Hill is incompatible with e-reader and have fixed trainers Source Code All versions of VBA publish the source code and I will not be less (source code has been added to the download page) Huge Thanks VBA-Team for creating the emulator denopqrihg for the link emulation caitsith for e-reader emulation ad2099 to testing this emulator and the save for FireRed & LeafGreen
  24. Hello Seeking help on the checksum, the Trainer Mossdeep Pokemon R & S This is because I'm developing with a colleague a tool which will allow insert events, wonder cards and other things to the games of pokemon, third generation. but for now we turn to the problem of the Japanese data to berrys coaches like thereof, to do the work they need to do a checksum calculation, e been researching and now even he had already seen these weps which has information for the calculation, I can not get the result as expected. 25. If cleaning the contacts didn't work, you most likely have a complete brick. It's a known issue that occurs from time to time. It is sporadic and is related to a miswrite of the save outside of it's normal boundaries. This can occur from bad server side commands (it seemed that there was an unusually high number of bricks related to a Wonder Card code that has since been taken down and fixed.) It can also occur related to disconnecting during the rewrite (intentional disconnects and unintentional disconnects that are usually related to faulty USB cords that we have seen.) Unfortuantely, there is not much you can do about it right now. The saves cannot be transferred to another cart. You can try contacting Datel, but I do not think that they have been replacing any carts. Unfortunately with these kind of devices, there is usually a clause buried somewhere in their warranties and terms of use that absolves them of any potential damages related to the changing of game code (including saves.) I've not researched their legal docs for Powersaves, but I would not be surprised if that is in there somewhere. It's still worth e-mailing them and see what they tell you.
