  1. I'm trying to figure out if its possible to extract a Global Link Game Sync ID from a game save then inject it into a new one. I want to start my game over (as most people do), but I don't want to loss all my progress in the DW. I'd also like to inject it into ROM Hacks for the same reason. I didn't think to make a backup of my save file when I started because I didn't think Nintendo would be so anal about it (yes, I should have know better). Anyone know if this is possible?

  2. Heads up to anyone who contacted Pokemon Company about not getting there Eevee: I just recieved this email from PCI

    Hello, Trainer!

We have successfully verified that your account qualifies for the Eevee Evolution promotion! We will contact you in the next few days with instructions on when and how to receive your Eevee Evolution on the Pokémon Global Link.

Thank you again for your patience in regards to this issue. We appreciate it!

    Sincerely,

    Pokémon Support Team

Looks like they are going to take responsibility for screwing up. Yay!

  3. yes...only when you get the pokes legit by dw sync.....

i don´t think they will fix it...as i wrote them to allow me to get the munna theater sceene.....and they did never ever answer!

They have already responded to a number of people on the Serebii forums. I'm hoping that means they are taking it seriously
  4. Well I just came from the Serebii.net forums and it seems a number of people there didn't get their eevee-lutions as well. A number of them send emails to tech support at Pokemon.com about it. I suggest anyone here with who had problems do the same. If enough people bring it to there attention, there is a good chance they will do something about the problem.

  5. Did you guys accidentally hit "Play Again", or is it completely different?

No. It took me two or three tries to get Flareon though. Once it said it saved, I just closed the browser.

It's going to be hard to rip from our games since that would mean ripping the ENTIRE .sav file, which people have personal Pokemon in it. I would just use PokeCCGear and hack it yourself if you are THAT desperate.
It wouldn't require them to give out their entire save. You rip your save and then use PokeGen to extract the Eevee-lution as a pkm file. Its no different than people extracting wonder cards or event pokemon from there saves and uploading it to the forums. I'm not desperate to get one, I just would like to get what I "earned".
But you will have no proof of you actually obtaining it on your DW account sooooo....
While this is true, I'm hoping they take the time to realize that most people wouldn't waste the time to lie about something so trivial. I just emailed them about it because they have been very helpful in the past when I've contacted them.
  6. You used Firefox too? Ya that is a web design error. Well I'll be sending them this and other threads as proof. We'll see what happens.

Im hoping people will rip the eevee-lutions from there games so we can load it on. Im hoping it wouldn't be too hard to manipulate the pkm file so it looks like it came from your DW.

  7. .... My problem is that I can't get it to save in the first place. I've seen several people have had the same problem and have read up on several suggestions to get it to save, but so far nothing has worked. Each time I confirm my choice of Leafeon twice. After this, there is a screen that pops up that asks if I want to Play Again. Most suggestions on the net said to not click Play Again. Some say to click another link or to just exit from the web browser. I can confirm that neither worked for me any of the times attempted.

After this fail I clicked Play Again. Completely played through again, and was not shown the Eevee prize screen so I thought this worked...NO. My first clue was that I had a new High Score of 86,000 but the character screen of mine was not updated with this score.

Next I played all the way through, picked Leafeon and then hit the Play Again button. I purposefully lost in the first round just to see if that would cause an interrupt allowing Leafeon to be saved...and No again.

Is anyone else having as much problems with this? And before you say it's saved, you should make sure.

Edit: I switched browsers and it worked! Leafeon is now successfully saved, and now I'm going to work on getting my Glaceon.

Edit 2: Glaceon is now confirmed saved after several attempts to save. Switching browsers was only a fluke. What seems to have worked was to clear my cache, history, and cookies. This was the only thing in common with the two successful saves.

I wish I saw this post before the 5th. I logged on today to find that it my Flareon never registered. I sent an email to tech support about this. This seems to be a widespread problem, so maybe they will do something about it.

:( I want my Flareon!! It was supposed to be my fire type for my first play through. >.<

  8. Edit: my 2 cents on the "is it legit" debate...

I say no, it is not.

The only reason we have the Gamestop Celebi is because someone a) got hold of the ROM and dumped it, and/or b) the DS at a Gamestop had its date changed and the Celebi was given away mistakenly.

This is not the first distro ROM that has been leaked, but there are also distro ROMs that to our knowledge have never been leaked.

I don't know of anyone who's ever managed to get a hold of the DS cart that was used by JB Hifi in Australia to give away the Red Scarf Manaphy, for example.

I have never heard nor seen a physical cart, or a dumped ROM of the cart used to give out Arceus in Australia early last year.

For all we know, those carts may have had other events on them, planned for release, but never used. If someone showed up now and said that they got their 'Blue Scarf Jirachi' from a JB Hifi back in the Manaphy movie giveaway days, we'd call it a hack because Nintendo never released the event, even if it may have been on that cart and accidentally distributed.

I understand where you are coming from, but after talking with my friends, the Celebi they got this weekend have OT GAMESTP. I can assure you the date was not changed on the distribution DS. I have also checked with the ASM at the GS closest to me (he's a friend of mine) and he said they never got a new distro cart in. Like I said before, I'm going to ask a Nintendo rep at PAX East this weekend about it. They might not know, but never know unless you ask.
  9. Its not trolling when you make a valid point. I agree that is it unlikely they would mark it as hacked/illegal, but you never know (unless you work for or have spoken to Nintendo). I spoke with a friend of mine who is an ASM at the local GS and he said his store never received the new distro cart, so there is a chance that there are a number of them floating around out there. I'm probably going to ask a Nintendo rep at PAX this weekend just out of curiosity.

  10. from snapshot 2, the 2 files are in a folder named "shapshot 2" in the archive. In that folder, are two files named "savegame_manager.ini" and "savegame_manager.nds". I took those two files and dropped them into a folder on my cyclo. It didn't work, told me it couldn't find the ini, so I moved the ini to the root, it didn't work again, so I moved both to the root. There, it just froze up after it said to 'hit B to continue'. It didn't give me the error like it had before, it just froze and didn't do anything.

I haven't seen anything about this app other than the screen that says hit B to continue and the popup that says it couldn't find the .ini file and to move it to another folder.

I have no idea why its not working for you. All I can guess is maybe the your download was corrupted. This app is still in pre-beta (pre-alpha even), so it could just be a stupid glitch or bug.

As for you file names, Im suprised it didn't do that for you. Has no one else run into oddly named files from the zips? What are you using to extract them?

  11. claudekennilol, not sure why it isn't working if your files are named correctly. To be honest I'm actually suprised they aren't misnamed. What is the file name? Also what release are you using?

Adding another bug: I tried to rip a friend's SS save and it failed with both snapshot and snapshot2. snapshot just errored out with generic message while snapshot2 said it was a NOR error. I used snapshot to extract the save from my HG and it worked, so not sure why SS wouldn't work.

  12. Is there a readme or anything? Or another site/post with more info? Or are we just supposed to guess our way through this? So far I've done dropped the nds and the ini in the root/savemanager. booted it up, it said if it didn't work to put the ini in the root. did that, booted it up, same thing. so I put both the app and the ini in the root, it seemed to work. I hit B, it does nothing.. This is the part where I'd do some reading to find out what's supposed to happen, or how to work it.. but the first post here just says "here it is, this is what I've fixed" So any help would appreciated.

Sadly there is no readme, which is something I've been asking for since I found this app. Without one. its not clear how to get the app running. For some reason Pokedoc adds the folder/directory name (savegame_manager_0.2.1) to the beginning of the file names (Ex savegame_manager_0.2.1\savegame_manager.nds). This causes problems as the NDS file looks for "savegame_manager.ini", not "savegame_manager_0.2.1\savegame_manager.ini". You need to rename both the NDS and INI files to "savegame_manager". Place them both in the same folder, and then boot the NDS file. It should work after that. If it says it can't find the ini file, move it to the root of the card and try again. Once the app actually loads, its self-explanatory. If you want to do a dump via Wifi, you will have to ask someone else about it as I have no idea how it works.

A heads up: Ignore the releases in the first post and use snapshot 2 (found in post 76). It is the most recent stable build. It works with a 3-in-1 (tested it myself), but Noko is having problems copying saves back to a retail cart.

Noko: So you can rip saves using your 3-in-1, but not upload/restore them back to the retail cart? Did you use snapshot2? I ask as I was going to try this sometime next week. If there is a chance of losing my save, I'm not trying it until Pokedoc does more testing.

    Yup!

Goodie. Thanks for the heads up. Sucks you lost your save on the retail cart. Thankfully it is backed up so when the problem is fixed, you restore it. Hopefully Pokedoc gets back to us this weekend about bug fixes.
