  1. Good morning, everyone.

Is there a consensus on the inventory editor? I've been holding off since the first banwave occurred a few months back.

At the very start of the game, would it be considered 'safe' to use the 'give all' button for tool items, medicine items, berries, and z-crystals, without impacting gameplay? Could this action potentiate an online ban since unreleased items would be on the save file?

I assume that unlocking TM/HMs and Key Items at the start of story mode would impact gameplay. But I'm not sure. Can anyone confirm if unlocking all of these items at the start of gameplay will impact the story mode or result in an online ban?

My IMPRESSION is that the banwave is primarily linked to modifying pokedex data, and trainer data like TID, SID, gender, etc. after registration.

    Screenshot provided.

    Thanks!

I've got no clue, let me check it out.

    EDIT:
Using Batch editor, if you set it to 1,
    all the Pokemon becomes yours.
(as in you become the Latest (not OT) Handler, hence its working!)

if you have issues, post screenshots of all the tabs (on the left) regarding the Pokeomn data.

As always, thank you Mr. Slayer - you've been a fabulous help :)

Hi, I'd like to know if there's a practical way to fix automatically a pokemon realearn moves. I know you can click on the relearn moves box and pkhex will ask to set the suggested moves but it's not really handy if you're trying to mass edit boxes of pokemon.

Edit: Also I'd like someone to enlighten me on the usage of "RelearnMoves"  in the batch editor.

Just a thought - sometimes when I can't figure out a repetitive task I use jitbit macro recorder:

    https://www.jitbit.com/macro-recorder/

It records your mouse and keyboard strokes and you can replay them for a certain number of repetitions at various speeds. So you could record a macro in which you manually 'click' each relearn move section for one box, click the 'next box arrow', then end the recording. Then you can play this macro back at a high speed 30 consecutive times, and it will automatically do the rest of the boxes for you.

I used to use this method A LOT before the batch editor, but it still has some good application here and there.

    Hope this helps :)

    It's quite literal.

Current handler cannot be past gen OT for transferred specimen.

    I've highlighted the error.

Latest (not OT) Handler refers to the Current handler who is holding on to the Pokemon presently,
    that isn't the Original Trainer.

The error message is basically saying
"Hey, how can the present guy be the same guy as the guy from previous generation. that makes no sense yo"

for OP, change that to "!" (your present trainer name)
    Capture.PNG
(I was using a female gender save, don't mind it)

[seriously, all the details are in the error message..]

Thanks, man. That makes sense. I haven't had any problem using Pokemon that throw this error in online play, but it must be best practice to keep this squared away in case Nintendo does make it part of the hax checks going forward

  5. Per the attached photo and Pokemon - what is the problem that needs addressing?

    The error is:

Invalid: Current handler cannot be past gen OT for transferred specimen.

This happened on transferred Pokemon after batch editing to modify all OT names. However, it seems like the OT name can legally be the same as an OT from a previous generation pre-transfer. After all, it's just a text string, isn't it? Help :)

For the sake of argument, lets say I wanted to go fully legit.  Could I wipe my savegame and be ok? Or would that count as changed data too?

I would guess that would depend on if gamesync has already detected the changes. If it's already picked up on illegal changes, then you could be on the chopping block. If it hasn't, then a game restart would theoretically erase any possibility of a ban resulting from the dastardly deeds committed on your original save.

  7. Good evening, everyone!

I know everyone is preoccupied with the current ban wave, but all the same I have hit a wall and cannot figure out how to legalize a handful of genned Pokemon.

Please see the attached file, and see if you can help me out. Arceus, Mew, and Genesect are the main problems, and I don't have a great answer for why they are getting blocked from unrated battle spot battles.

The bottom row, I'm 90% certain, is unusable because you can't breed a a non-Alola Raichu, Marowak, or Exeggutor (am I missing any?) in Sun and Moon. I assume that you can, however, breed others (Sadslash, Golem, etc) and still achieve an alolan-bred, non-alolan form. Please verify.

Thanks in advance, please let me know if you need additional information.

[EDIT: thanks to whomever moved this to the correct forum location]

I'm just going to post my case here for some additional info.

Moon = Banned - genned mons [legal], max items [all types], pokemon dex complete, max money, edited trainer location and pokefinder.

Sun   = not banned - genned Mons [legal], 999x all medicine and item slot items and max money.

It seems Pokedex is the main culprit here.
My friends who have genned mons from me or themselves are not banned either.

The bans are save/game sync only and only restrict you from playing in battle spot, rating battles and global missions.
As far as I know the pkhex rules state that you shouldn't be playing battlespot etc with genned mons anyway, so this ban barely matters.

I think I deserve the ban but hey it was for science, I wanted to check if getting the shiny charm through the achievement of filling the pokedex was different from just adding it in.

My reason to believe that they got caught was probably making a tapu or any other shiny locked pokemon shiny and unlocking the dex entry.
Like I mentioned earlier only my save with full pokedex got banned. for example I edited my sun/moon demo greninja to be shiny on sun and it didn't get banned.

Thank you for the research. This has been the most helpful bit of information so far. I highly doubt having illegal Pokemon of any sort would trigger a ban, as (this was stated above), hacked Pokemon of all sorts can be transferred locally to the innocent. Modifications of trainer location, TID, SID, etc. after a game sync, invalid dex entries, and impossible item counts are the likely culprits.

Honestly, I don't even believe that UNREASONABLE item counts would trigger a ban. As unlikely as it is that a player has max battle point, money, and max quantities of all items... it is possible. These bans have to be based on modifications to the SAVE DATA, and self-initiated.

  9. Good afternoon,

I'm working on making a morning sun Solrock. Any advice on how to do so? He only gets morning sun in the dream world as far as I know, but I can't get it to work with any of the encounter info I've set up so far.

If you would, please tell me what to put in these fields:

    1. Met Location
    2. Ball
    3. Met Level
    4. Met Date
    5. Fateful Encounter?

    Thank you!

  10. Quick question - what should we set the relearn moves to if the Pokemon is genned in V or earlier? The default sets all four to 'none', but should they be set to the egg moves/start moves relevant to THAT generation? Something else?

    Thank you in advance,

    -Howie

  11. What's up? Can someone help me figure out all these problems with my Exeggutors? When normal Exeggutor is released via Pokemon Bank, will these issues self-correct? See pic. Thank you!

What you're trying to do is the exact basis for the error.

The Hoopa is an event Pokemon that was NOT MEANT TO BE HAVE YOUR OT.

Okay - is this true for other Pokemon like this one? They appear to have normal, American trainer names. I was under the impression that events that had 'event' OTs were usually like SPRING2013, or GAMESTOP. 'Harry' and 'GF' seem like normal trainer names.

I was also confused as to which database PKHeX is comparing against - is it an in-house database of known, acceptable options - or is it the same database Nintendo will use to see if your Pokemon is legit or not?

    Thanks
