  1. This is how I do my current injections to Alpha Sapphire as I have an old 3DS XL that I haven't updated to avoid this method from being patched, it's a bit ancient but it's how I like to do it.

What I'm simply asking is will this still work as long for Sun & Moon? I'll be buying the cartridge version of either one, not the digital release.

Kaphotics responded you already, but if you want to know why specifically it's not possible, it's because first this exploit is exclusive to Old 3DS due to its browser, but since the games runs in extended memory mode (like Smash and newer Monster Hunter gams), the browser and miiverse can't be launched at all. So no luck.

NTR won't work either on Old 3DS for tat reason. Your best bet is installing custom firmware and using JK's Save Manager.

  2. You don't need to because the traded pokémon would already have unique PID/EC anyway assuming they're legit or at least not related to yours at all. Only if it's shiny and you want to retain its shininess, you'd have to make PKHeX generate a new shiny PID (or if by luck, when you update the OT info the pokémon becomes shiny and you don't want it to be).

  3. The game doesn't check for them so it's your choice, but it's recommend to roll the PID and EC once because having two pokémon with those values equal to each other will look fishy, and you know, it's possible to extract replay data and look at it. Also if two pokémon have the same EC/PID and the same model (e. g. clones), if you put put them side by side on your box and hover the cursor between them, even if they have different stats their animation just continue running as if it was the same pokémon.

Basically you're just making them "a bit more legal and unique". Never hurts to do.

Also the PID isn't really tied to anything anymore and is only a legacy value used to determine shininess, so you don't really have to mind.

  4. Not really, and even if there is, we wouldn't know unless we fully figured out gen 6 RNG, which as far as I know is impossible because of how 3DS determines random events (this is what I heard back in 2013 at least, dunno if there's any update).

By the way, be careful with Game Sync if you changed OT info, if you already have your Sync ID, either never sync again or create a new file. There's zero problem if you haven't synced yet though.

  5. I remember seeing videos of people doing it, was that changed in a recent patch to the game or has it never worked?

Never worked. It's always linked to your 3DS profile.

A kinda wild guess, what MAY be confusing you is that the early X/Y days people changed their regions upon starting the game to get a Vivillon pattern of their choice then changed the region back, but that's because the patterns chosen upon starting the game then are never changed again until you start a new game, but that's only them.

  6. Telling if a ID/SID combination was possible required a highly advanced understanding of how the RNG worked, something that likely won't be possible at all in Gen 6.

Editing your ID/TID would treat the egg as traded, like SV-abused ones. This does leave a trade at the pokémon, if you look at a SV-abused pokémon's summary, the Egg Met becomes Link Trade instead of Day-Care Couple. Then it's up to one's view on SV exploitation if it's cheated or not. Theoretically this "trace" can be avoided if you edit the egg's OT before it hatches to hatch your own new ID.

  7. For other people who might check this thread:

I have done the safe switching shenanigans with Foxy and can fully confirm that it works :)! There were some issues with mixed up memories, but running rsavout then make a minor edit and run rsavin again fixed it afaik.

TIL that Ho-Oh's music is super awesome *-*

Confirming, it worked nicely for me too! The memories thing were actually an issue with PKHeX itself, apparently it also fixed itself if you saved the pokémon on PKHeX, and the game never got confused with it.

If someone else are gonna do this, I also recommend not saving after capturing the other legendary, just make a rsavout, that way your game's profile won't update and thus you won't lose your PSS friends list/daily event shenanigans because the game won't know you "switched systems". No big deal, but it's a bit better.

And I know right? It's one of my favorite ones! :)

  8. That would work, yes (speaking from experience). To not mix up saves, I suggest doing 1 at a time.

So to start, if you would send me your ramsav? Then I can "inject" my AS save which has the clear bell into it.

Also if you have a powersaves, I suggest making a backup. It can't hurt to do.

By the way, I won't be able to do what has to be done until tomorrow morning (in 9 or so hours).

Well, actually I mixed things up. Their flags for Ho-Oh or Lugia shouldn't be the same, so Ho-Oh from your game wouldn't be fought if loaded in mine and vice-versa. I added you on Skype, will have a save ready soon for your tests.

And no I don't have PS nor a second 3DS that can go online. But if this works for you it should do for me.

EDIT: just tested with a friend who has female AS and it does work with the Clear Bell in bag. This was just for testing though because he can't use the exploit anymore, and just happened to have his AS backup.

  9. I've actually not yet found someone who has a female character in OR :\ Not that I have searched that actively... but it's also hard to find someone who has a second console that is not updated these days.

I do, actually, but I've already caught Ho-Oh. Would it work to uncheck the PKHeX flag? I'm also kinda interested into Lugia music.

  10. Firmware spoofing would be with the Gateway Cartridge. But We're talking about the web injection

Actually it uses the browser exploit too, but it still needs the kernel access exploit that is only available in <=9.2. But no extra hardware is required (unless you count sdcard readers).

Either way I'm gonna update soon, there's no way we're getting another kernel exploit soon. Even if one is known, Gateway wouldn't release it just now because 9.2 is still recent (>4.5 took over 2 years), and the individual reverse engineers wouldn't either because "muh antipiracy".

  11. For those running 9.2 fw or under you could set up an emunand and use rxtools to play all your retail games and stuff online on the latest firmware while using sysnand to do your injection/exploits.
I used to have 9.4 actually. But not 9.2. But Now I have 9.5 and the web injections still work though

Even simpler, we could just spoof the firmware version and launch eShop to update our stuff.

Sadly it's <=9.2 only and I'm on 9.5.0-22 as well, I would really like to use it but it needs a kernel exploit (which we won't see any time soon). Guess I'll have to just inject everything and move on.
