  1. That is good that the gender is set at this point, so if I wanted to know the gender first I assume I could just open the on screen hex editor and go to the correct offset and check the value to know before choosing to accept the card or not.

If so what offset would I go to and what values would correspond to each gender?

Edit: I successfully found the wc6 data and dumped it with NTR debugging thanks to all your info. Also nicely NTR doesn't cause unwanted key presses.

    Command used (must change pid)

    data(0x08c695bc, 0x108, filename='infernape.wc6', pid=0x28)

I still would like to know how to check gender before accepting the card. I just need to know where in the wc6 data to look. Since loading it in the editor doesn't help since it has a known problem with genders.

  2. Does anyone know if a equivalent of this exists that would let me convert a gen 1 .pkm to gen 2? Or just some gen 2 editor that would let me import a gen 1 .pkm

I have been for old times sakes doing a LiveDex on Blue and would like to bulk import them all into a Silver save to continue the LiveDex but would like to avoid doing that much trading with myself. Plus I wouldn't mind injecting them before playing through to the time capsule.

Edit: I found a editor that works I had missed it because it is a legacy version and I had tried the newest already with no success so I didn't think a old version would have more features.

  3. I am aware that it works on TW and JPN consoles.

What about Japanese language game on PAL console,/

or ENG/JPN language on US console?

you can just submit code into game to see if it loads.

As long as you don't accept the download, the serial code can still be used afterwards.

I did attempt on a NA console with the ENG language and it didn't work.

  4. I forgot my time zone is drastically different from Japan so it's still the 11th for me and I'm not changing my time since I'm playing a game that would penalize me. If people want it I will post a second one after it becomes the 12th for me. I'll just revert my save to before the event and do it again.

Other then that it is legit.

It'll be 7 hours and 15 minutes until my date is the 12th.

  5. Ok, so I've tried every idea but nothing works to get my old file working. If I upload my save and someone who can run SDF removed its secure value, I wonder if it'll work?

If anyone wants to try: https://www.sendspace.com/file/j4ma3n

So yeah, lesson learned, never try to inject an older version of your savefile.

Edit: not even that worked. Thanks, Nintendo.

I've gave it a try just says that the savefile is corrupted.

On gbatemp I saw someone give instructions for fixing another secure value game that included the instructions to start a new game and dump it's save which would have the correct value in it at that time then use a hex editor to find that value at the right offset and copy it into your other save. Then it would restore. All you have to do is find the save layout info to know the correct offset and number of bits to copy.

  6. Thanks for the reply. I tried the first method but it didn't work. Sadly I don't know anyone with a cartridge for me to try the second method.

I hope TDVS helps me fix this.

I found some old info that was better then my memory, I just hope doing the delete save button combo is a good enough equivalent to the SDF factory reset. But It seems it was just opening the game to the menu not actually starting a new save.

  7. It seems I've hit the anti-backup measure on ORAS by using the save manager. My game is the digital download version.

From what I've read, I have to delete the "Secure Value" but I don't own a flashcard to run SaveDataFiler. Do I have any other option?

I can't remember the specifics or if it was ever confirmed but I had heard a long time ago when SDF was new but people hadn't figured out the basics of deleting the secure value with it that some people restored a old save by starting a new game then saving then the restore would work on their old save.

Another option that would work but you would need access to a real cart of the game is to restore the save to the real cart then use Nintendo's official save transfer tool from the eShop to move it to your download game. But for that you would have to borrow someone's game and make sure you don't lose its save by backing it up and restoring it after.

Just keep your save safe on a computer so nothing gets mixed up.

  8. I know it may seem like a strange question since I can obviously get a decrypted save already but I do have a couple use cases where this may come in handy.

If you have a encrypted 0000001.sav and a decrypted "main" from savedatafiler made at the same time would it be possible to generate a saves xorpad by just comparing them? (All digital versions so Powersaves is not a option like the current instructions need)?

My use cases for why it would be handy would be

    1) For if I ever accidentally end up with a broken 3DS but no recent decrypted backups I could pull the memory card which is still likely working and get a decrypted main that could be imported into a replacement system.

    2) To open some old backed up .sav files from before getting a Gateway.

I do make regular backups both local and off site but I still want to be extra safe and like the thought of the ability to not depend on old backups but be able to decrypt the latest as long as the pretty well protected memory card survives.

It may seem unlikely but I have in the past had basically the exact same use case scenario "1" happen and got old info back 6 years after the fact when I finally found a copy of a encrypted backup. (Now I'm better with local and offsite backups for not losing them)

  10. I thought I would share some info on editing the games save that I was able to figure out. This requires savedatafiler to export and import unencrypted saves. I also found the Orbs number location to buy all the upgrades right away.

I only had one gen 4 cartridge to start finding this info and the rest was brute forced with trying different values after finding the right offset by diffing a before and after save of unlocking Diamonds legend.

    savedatafiler

    00000ae1 cygsavedata.dat

    Current number of Orbs

    0x68-0x69 xxxx

    -----

Total collected Orbs (Not enough to help unlock extensions since on a new game setting it to 199 then collecting another didn't open the Retrieval Extension so basically useless)

    0x6C-0x6D xxxx

Unlock generation 4 legends to be caught

  11. I can successfully open PKHEX on my mac but, when I was trying to change the IV and EV numbers, it can't be changed, it's all messed up, so why could that happen. Thanks

That seems strange I don't gen Pokemon (just look around my save and inject wonder cards) but I just tested it on mine without that problem. You may want to ask in the Mac thread but I had never heard any Mac users complaining so it may be a unique problem to you.
