  1. The other games will be the easy part for me, I'll try to get that information for you asap.

EDIT: Here's a BIG version of the background btw: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/258536/HGSS%20Art/website%20bg.jpg It's from the background of the official Japanese HGSS website.

EDIT2: Just saw this in my HGSS artwork collection and thought it might make for a better background, it's a lot less busy.

    boxart-bg.png

I like the idea for the new background. What if we could choose a background from a few preloaded ones

  2. yeah i tried it, it gave some error, i forget which one though, oh, i didn't use v10, it was v9.2 (since v10 wasn't out then). so unless you updated the ds loading bit too, it might just error up again.

Same with me, got an error so any new ideas. I am very grateful that you are still working on this.

  3. due to the fact that missingno usually screwed your game up id have to say its probably just a glitch, i always kinda hoped that they would turn it into a real pokemon in a later game with a really strange story and uber super dooper status, like OHKOing everything and banned from the elite four, gyms, trainer battles etc.

I think that would have been a good idea but that would have probably ended the series.

  4. Hey bear! Had the honour of facing this team a while ago.

    Azelf - Standard

Heatran - All good, you might wanna choose choice scarf actually, heatran has alot of power, but he's 4x weak to the ever used earthquake. So his defences might not let him survive for that long, more so you have life orb equiped. Heatran does have a lot of power, but in order for me to effectively use it would be choice scarf, Shuca Berry can also end it's ground problem.

    Celebi - good stuff

Gliscor - Just watch out for ice attacks, ice shard will end him.

Blissey - yea hands down this is the best special wall. You could try seismic toss, but that would render you useless to ghost pokemon.

    Scizor - Standard

    Pokemon to be Weary about.

Infernape - Becareful for this dude, it will beat your Azelf in a lead battle everytime..

it will outspeed your heatran and close combat, fire blast celebi, close combat blissey and fire blast scizor all for OHKOs

Mamoswine can Eq Heatran, Iceshard gliscor/celebi and superpower blissey.

Salamence - flamethowers your scizor and celebi, eqs your heatran.

Weaville - Weaville is really a problem to your team, beating your Azelf, Heatran, Celebi, Gliscor, Blissey in speed and OHKOing all of them. Luckily Scizor makes an excellent counter

by throwing a quick bullet punch.

Thanks I will revamp my team with these recommendations in mind.

  5. icon4.gifWARNING WARNING icon4.gif

The following sets involve an NU Pokemon. Every student of Lord Koffing must avoid their eyes from such blasphemy! The following Pokemon Pidgeot IS outclassed by:

    [sprite]441[/sprite] [shinysprite]441[/shinysprite]

    18_30_0.png

    Pidgeot @ Liechi Berry

    Naughty Nature

    Tangled Feet

    36 HP/252 Atk/40 SpA/180 Speed

    - Agility

    - Substitute

    - Heat Wave

    - Frustration

Yes, it's a Pidgeot. Yes, it's weak. And yes, it is trying to sweep. This hits 263 Speed, which after an Agility hits 526, outpacing Choice Scarf Gengars. Then max out Attack, and those HP EVs hit 316 HP to have maximum HP recovery via Leftovers... but since that number is so even, it will fail to Stealth Rocks. Then Sub up until Liechi Berry's effect kicks in and then... start attacking with STAB Frustrations. Why Frustration? Because Pidgeot is mad at Gamefreak for obvious reasons. Heat Wave is there so that Pidgeot is not walled by Steels and to hit those Scizors... but even then, 186 SpA will not OHKO any of them =/

A special attacking variation of this Pidgeot:

    18_30_0.png

    Pidgeot @ Petaya Berry

    Modest Nature

    Tangled Feet

    72 HP/252 SpA/4 SpDef/180 Speed

    - Agility

    - Substitute

    - Heat Wave/HP Ground

    - Air Slash

Forget about maximal HP recovery... just set the HP at odd so that SR doesn't eat you up. Obviously max Special Attack... because 70 SpA isn't THAT bad right? Sub up, Agility and everything to outpace Timid Scarf Gengar, then proceed to sub until Petaya kicks in, keep Air Slashing and hope for opponents not named Dragonite and things with Inner Focus to be flinch-haxed to death. Or... start Heat Waving steels but unlike the previous set it will actually do more damage... but still probably not enough to OHKO, especially not Empoleon. Since Heat Wave and Air Slash is redundant in coverage, HP Ground could be used to deal with troublesome Magnezones and Heatrans. Heat Wave is mostly for Scizor... as long as you are behind a Sub you will take it down without a problem. Choose your poison.

Yeah, I actually use those sets... and believe me, I wish I could find some room for Roost >.<

Ahhhhhhhhhh the horror!!! :kikkoman: I like it a lot. 526 from a NU Pokemon awesome never seen anything like this. the absence of roost is sad. I like this set but I would never use it.

I know my team has many holes but I have trouble seeing them myself. Any helpful comments would be appreciated.

  7. Im just hoping this Arceus wont be level 100 (it probably will be) ive already got lots of eigakan Arceus but they cant be properly ev trained, ive seen that weird way of ev training a level 100 but by my standards that makes it haxed.

Id be much more excited about getting the azure flute.

Same for me but I will then have my completed National Dex :)

  8. well, those values change randomly like everytime you poll them.

i never claimed it'd be easy to do nor that i would be able to do it.

all i said was i don't see much hope for this tool if the author doesn't even care to test it.

i may sound negative though it may possibly motivate those who are working on it to try harder.

however i think reverse engineering the game code may be the only chance to succeed.

He is using us as his testers because he doesn't own the game. The game cost me $60USD and took 3 weeks to arrive and since it will be in the US by the spring some don't see the point in purchasing. Also only Chase is working on this and receives no pay for this. Now I don't know about you but a I fully appreciate this contribution to the hacking community. I could wait two months for the full version. Time is a precious thing in life I have very little free time in my life and I think most will agree it is important to take time in your life to do other things in your life not just work on programming for people who don't appreciate it.

  9. I THOUGHT I completed the Johto dex to get the national dex... but I guess not. I have seen all of the pokemon (1-250ish), but the doctors don't do anything special. What do I have to do to get Grodon and Latios? (Soul Silver)

As far as I remember form my play through all you needed to do was beat all 16 gym leaders not finish the johto dex. I think oak gives it to you in Pallet town.
