  1. What you are asking for in your topic title and what you are really wanting are two different things.

An ability is the ability listed on an individual pokemon (ex. A technician Scyther.) This can easily be edited using Pokegen to alter a specific pkm file. This can carry over to other games. If it's legal, it can even pass through Bank (Wondertomb will not.)

Now what you are really asking for is a ROM edit to alter the base stats of a move. Move stats are not tied to a Pokemon (outside of the usual multiplier granted by its type or ability) but are inherent to the actual ROM itself. This will not carry off of your ROM edit (your edit will not be able to be traded off or passed through Bank.)

  2. No worries, and thank you for your candour.

I still have all my Pokémon (on the Pokémon Bank) so I haven't lost out on too much.

I just had a point saved where the next egg would always be shiny (with Masuda Method criteria parents). I had been switching in different parents; to be honest, I probably overused it anyway. :P

I shall keep the saves, and regularly check back in case such a function/ability becomes known. :)

Hopefully, they will find out a way someday to help you out. There have been multiple people with the same issue, so I'm sure it's on somebody's radar. Hopefully, they will find a way to help you guys out sooner rather than later.

I'm glad that you didn't lose much though and have your Pokemon on Bank. It would really suck if you lost everything like some others have reported (although it still sucks that you lost what you did.)

  3. You cannot swap Powersave backups between two carts. They can only be restored to their original cart. If you try doing this, the save will be treated as being corrupted.

As I said earlier, the only way around this is using a ROM with either of the two flash carts that I mentioned earlier.

  4. Actually, you are wrong about trading Diancie, AZ Floette, and the rest of the unreleased. No matter how you clone them (and you can clone them via Bank or your method), Nintendo's servers block them so they cannot be traded over Wi-Fi. I should know since I have all of the since removed Powersaves items.

The only way that they can be distributed via the Internet is by swapping ROM saves using the two available flash carts that can play the games.

  5. My apologies if this is a question which has been answered already (I read through this whole thread and didn't notice a solution):

    Short version:

Is there anyway to restore a Powersaves backup onto a cartridge other than the original?

    Long version:

I had a Pokémon X cartridge, which I have several Powersaves backups for. Unfortunately that cartridge has since died. :(

Is there any way (regardless of difficulty) for me to restore these saves onto a new Pokémon X cartridge.

    Any help greatly appreciated. :)

Sorry to hear about that. Unfortunately, there is no way to do that right now.

    Once again, sorry about that.

  6. Is it possible to decrypt my Y save without a hacked 3DS? I can't exactly afford one.

You can decrypt it as long as you have a Powersaves device by Datel. However, just because you can decrypt it doesn't mean that you can edit your save and place it back on your cart. If you do, it will just show up as a corrupt save.

  7. The key problem is that you are also making a big assumption that people are actually going to read anything. I've seen topics when it goes into great detail on the first post to answer all questions, but nobody bothers to read it and then makes posts asking the same questions over and over again.

Bottom Line: The people who make these posts are still going to make them even if you make a sticky post because they don't even bother to read.

  8. The major problem is that nobody even bothers to read even a little of the thread. This question has been asked literally almost on every page at least once on all of the threads related to X/Y saves and the tools for save/box decryption. If people just bothered to read just a little (and let's face it, these threads aren't that long compared to other forums like GBATemp), this wouldn't be an issue.

  9. This is fantastic work! :D I do have a few questions I would like answered very detailed:

    1. What method can be used to edit Pokemon from a Physical copy of X/Y? Can you provide all the necessary things? PowerSave?

    2. Injecting Pokemon that are not previously in the Save Game is still not implemented yet, correct? (Yes/No?)

    3. Can I only edit Pokemon I have already on my game cartridge?

    4. Can I edit IVs, EVs, Level, Items, Moves, etc.?

I would love to have these answered in complete detail, I am sure other people would like to know the answers as well! :u I would like to know before I invest in a PowerSave. xD Anyway. thanks and good luck Bond! :u *Stalks his Twitter* eue

All of these have already been answered about a dozen times, but here goes again.

    1. Powersaves to download the necessary save backups needed.

    2. You can't inject.

3 & 4. You can edit whatever you want just like you could in pokegen but with no way to encrypt it back, you can't put it back on your cart. So, since you can't get it back onto your cart, editing is a moot point right now.

  10. Well it is pretty much a moot point. It turns out they really hadn't broke the encryption on the cart like ScriesM had implied in a post on another forum. They did find a way to recalculate the hashes (which took trial and error) and let the Datel servers encrypt it.

The reason why it's a moot point is that Datel has now patched things so you can't repeat the process anymore.

  11. He has not said how he did it publicly and has also said that he does not intend to do it either. However, from what we know, the encryption to the file to his cart was overcome by sheer brute force, and I'm assuming, a lot of trial and error.
