when you trade a pokemon to gen 1 it gets rid of the caught data and pokemon that were caught in gold and sliver and traded to crystal will have no caught data also so i think it won't care.

I still would like to know what the caught data is for a Pokemon bred in Crystal would be. I'm sort of OCD about this kind of stuff. It matches my Crystal save OT and ID so it should be set up as such.

  2. I want to make the Pokemon in a modified Crystal save as legit as possible, even if the data I want on them isn't used for the Gen VII transfer but only within Crystal itself.

Pokemon caught in Crystal have a met location, met level, and time of day they were seen. How is this data stored for Pokemon bred from Eggs? Like I have a Faint Attack Ninetales that shares and OT with the save file's trainer. Because It cannot be transferred to gen1 without getting rid of faint attack, and was "hatched" in Crystal, what would be put into those 3 fields?

I tried putting "route 34" "Level 5" and "Night" and various combinations there of and it flags the Egg moves it has (Hypnosis and Faint Attack) if anything is put into the location field.

Do bred Pokemon only keep track of level and time of day? or none of them at all, because it even treats Pokemon with gen 1 only moves as legal with anything put in the level and time of day field, even though it is impossible.

  3. After the latest update, all Gen IV Celebi events are being flagged, even ones just dragged and dropped from the database

The ones with Nasty Plot say "Invalid Move", and also say "Unable to match mystery gift to the database.

Speaking of database, all of the Gen IV Celebi are gone from it, I had to use a zip file with Gen IV events in it.

EDIT: The Gen IV Shiny beast events are being flagged for the same reasons.

EDIT again: Okay, Gen IV events in general are being flagged

  4. Basically I want to give my Gen III/IV Pokemon max contest stats. I want to put all of the possibly obtainable ribbons on a Pokemon I've had since Gen III that is currently in Moon, so it's less want to do this for any real effect and more for future-proofing if Contest stats ever become viewable again.

Or did they remove the bits that store contest stats completely, unlike Gen V?

  5. The Gen I and Gen II games do not keep track of illegal Egg Move combinations, like Amnesia + Confusion Tangela

Additionally Amnesia Psyduck, Baton Pass Farfetch'd, and Earthquake Gligar seem to not care what their OT or ID is(Psyduck is always "STADIUM" with 02000, Farfetch'd and Gligar are always "Stadium" with 02000).

Additionally it is impossible to generate a Shiny Pokemon in Gen 1, since wild Pokemon cannot have certain DV combinations in those games, which includes all combinations that would make them shiny when traded to Gen II. As such the only way to get Shiny Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Mewtwo without glitches/ACE is Via Gen II PCNY events. They have the OTs of either "PCNYa". "PCNYb", "PCNYc", or "PCNYd" and the ID number is randomly generated. There is no way to get Shiny Mew in these games period(Celebi is possible via the Japan-only GS Ball Crystal event)

In fact because Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Mewtwo cannot be generated in Gen II in any way(All other Pokemon are either found natively in them or can be bred), there are numerous DV combinations that are illegal with them.

  6. Apparently editing your starter Pikachu in changes its hold item from Light Ball(which only the starter pikachu can have) to Berry(which all other Pikachu caught in Gen 1 have) when traded to Gen II. Is there any way to make it so editing the starter Pikachu doesn't alter its unique catch rate modifier(and thus its Gen II hold item)?

Heh, nobody has noticed that Time Of Day stopped showing up for Gen2 pkm. Now visible!
    https://github.com/kwsch/PKHeX/commit/f85910abe2a37c587dcf79cf1f72a2d6b7bb0421

All attached PKM show as valid when viewed from a Crystal save file. There's no morning/day/night legality checks in PKHeX.

(VC vs Cart detection is based off the file extension; .dat == VC)

Crystal .dat files flag the Crystal-only moves(I converted my .sav from my physical Crystal game in anticipation for the inevitable VC release), except the 3 Move Tutors, which instead are not flagged in the VC Gold/Silver games even though they are currently unobtainable.

Thanks, fixed the crystal eggmove deal (wasn't allowing crystal egg moves in most cases).

    https://github.com/kwsch/PKHeX/commit/a75614ed775e4b4bf0c34d2a1ade11a4da27575a

Will need to see specimens for any other pending issues, if any :)

-Gloom can be found at level 14 in Crystal in the wild

-Crystal level up moves like Wing Attack on Yanma are flagged

-Special moves like Extremespeed Dratini and Dizzy Punch Babies are flagged

-Stadiums events like Surf Pikachu, Amnesia Psyduck, Earthquake Gligar, and Baton Pass Farfetch'd are flagged even with the correct OT/TID

-Relearn moves like Bite Suicune, Powder Snow Articuno, and Hitmonlee, which are obtainable via Stadium 2, are flagged

If you want I can go through every Pokemon and list any moves added to Crystal version, as well as event moves(I figured most of the PCNY event moves are flagged due to obscurity outside of battle simulators, I know all of them).

Also I need to point out that Crystal, not only met location and starting level are tracked on Pokemon, but whether it was caught in the Morning, Day, or Night, and there's no way to modify that in PKHex

    044 - GLOOM - 40E7.pk2

    193 - YANMA - F1FD.pk2

    149 - DRAGONITE - 43F2.pk2

    125 ★ - ELECTABUZZ - D579.pk2

    083 - FARFETCH'D - 59AD.pk2

    026 - RAICHU - 87BA.pk2

    207 - GLIGAR - 8D8A.pk2

    245 - SUICUNE - D6EC.pk2

    106 - HITMONLEE - 5B76.pk2

  9. Okay I updated it and the update treats everything from Crystal and Stadium/Stadium 2 in Gen 1 and 2 files as Illegal(It says "Invalid Move" for the moves in question). Is there any way to make it tell the difference between a VC Save and a Cartridge Save like with the Gen 1 save files in the earlier versions of the program?

    231 - PHANPY - 6CCD.pk2

    157 - TYPHLOSION - 4C28.pk2

EDIT: It seems now even actual Crystal save files flag Crystal moves(Like an Dragonite met at Dragon's Den at level 15 flags Extremespeed as invalid). Also flags Move relearner moves even though they are highlighted in the drop-down menu in Green(since Stadium 2 had one)

  10. Especially considering that there are Decorations exclusive to using Mystery Gift with Stadium 2's NPC (Pikachu Bed, Unown Doll, and Tentacool Doll) or come from exclusive items attached to Stadium 1 Prizes, Silver Trophy and Gold Trophy, which are obtained via using Normal Box(Attached to Round 1 Prizes) and Gorgeous Box(Attached to Round 2 Prizes), and thus cannot be obtained in the VC versions

  11. Egg Moves that were added in Crystal(Like Submission Cyndaquil and Water Gun Phanpy) are for some reason marked as illegal in a Gen II save file, even though Extremespeed Dratini and all three Stadium event moves(Surf Pikachu, Earthquake Gligar, and Baton Pass Farfetch'd) pass just fine. I figured I could set the met location since Crystal does that(Being Gen II Pokemon with moves only obtainable in Crystal, they'd have those even in G/S's coding), but the location options are Gens III-VI rather than Gen II.

EDIT: My Extreme Speed Dragonite originally had the correct location(Dragon's Den at level 15), now it says Route 8(Most likely Unova, Kalos, or Alola since it's using the newer gen location list) for some reason even though it is in Gen II still.

EDIT: Another error is that Gen I Pokemon with Crystal Exclusive egg moves that are Gen II moves(Like Crunch Ekans) count as legal without any location data, even though it is impossible for Crunch Ekans to NOT have met location data.

EDIT: I am dumb, I realized you can just trade the Crunch Ekans Egg to G/S to hatch it for it to not have met location data, so that means there is no reason why the other moves should be flagged. I have yet to test other Crystal Egg Moves like Swords Dance Chikorita

  12. I have two different issues that are basically the same thing.

I edited a Pidgeot I originally caught legitimately in Leaf Green to have Timid Nature and perfect IVs. Even after I fixed the PID, it said "can't have ball in encounter type" (It was caught in a repeat ball). Is there any way to fix this, for nostalgia reasons I would prefer it remain in the Repeat Ball. I'm having the exact same problem with a Sableye from Sapphire.

Also editing similar things with legit Colosseum and XD Pokemon seem to make them no longer legal for the same reasons. Only it's "Encounter PID mismatch", any way to fix this as well?

  13. Does that code work in real copies? I'm getting a real copy of White 2 soon in the male and it would make getting all the hidden hollow Pokemon alot easier. Also, I second the idea of having a code to get Reflecting Mirror

  14. Hello. I was wondering if someone could make me a code to have the following Event Pokemon in my Party in my Japanese White version:

    -Japanese Wi-Fi Zoroark

    -Jolly Japanese Movie Victini

-Timid Japanese Movie Celebi (w/flag for the Zorua Event)

-Japanese Crown Suicune (w/flag for Zoroark Event)

-Japanese Crown Entei (w/flag for Zoroark Event)

-Japanese Crown Raikou (w/flag for Zoroark Event)

Also I would like a code to have a Dream World Sunkern w/Earth Power in Box 1 Slot 1

  15. The Heart Scale Codes didn't work for me, either. I had to edit the Pokmon Modifier code to give me 649 Heart Scales instead of Master Balls in order to get what I needed. All I did was change "01" to "5D"

btw, what is the HEX for 999?

with it, i could essentially change the Pokemon Modifier code into a slot 1 and slot 2 item modifier code with the added bonus of being able to catch any Pokemon.

Most of my HEX dabbling has been with GB/GBC, So I know little about values over FF

  16. How can I get these codes to work in the cartridge version of White? I have the firmware patch, but many of the codes won't work.

The ones I want to work are these:

    -Max Happiness (mark Pokemon)

    -Max HP IV (Mark Pokemon)

    -Max Attack IV (Mark Pokemon)

    -Max Defense IV (Mark Pokemon)

    -Max Speed IV (Mark Pokemon)

-Max Special Attack IV (Mark Pokemon)

-Max Special Defense IV (Mark Pokemon)

-Clone Pokemon (Hold L while Switching) OR Clone PC Pokemon (Hold Select)

-Walk Through Walls (L+A Enable, L+B Disable)

-Liberty Ticket at Huin City Pokemon Center(Select)

    -999 Heart Scales in Pack

ALL of these codes DO NOT work on my Catridge Version of White. Most other codes do, however.

  17. The IV and Max Happiness Marking codes don't work on my cartridge version of White. The EV one works, though. I checked and double checked and even triple checked and I didn't put them in my AR wrong. None of the cloning codes work, either. I'm guessing that those codes were tailor-made for emulators and not the real thing?

Also, I would like a code that give 999 of any item that's in the first slot of my inventory(most importantly Heart Scales and Evolution-based items).
