  1. You only need the SD Card and Gateway files, not the actual Gateway Card.

Web Injection works from 9.0.0-20 to 9.5.0-22, I think people on 4.x can use PBT-CFW + Sysupdater + 3DNUS to update to FW 9.0.0-20 but you should check if that's safe or not.

By the way XY/ORAS aren't playable on FW 4.x, they have 6.x or 7.x encryption if I remember correctly

  2. I dont have a Gateway Card but i am on CFW 4.2. Its not the cia Someone told me to make sure I didn't pull savedatafiler.cia directly from the sdk, and convert the csu. But I have no idea what that means.

You have to find the .csu version of SaveDataFiler and convert it to .cia using this tool: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-put-savedatafiler-on-homescreen.373756/page-8#post-5212428

Put SaveDataFiler.csu and the files of the program in the same folder and open the .bat file, it will create an usable savedatafiler.cia :)

  3. So basically, if I updated the 3ds version by mistake, I have no chance of using pkhex, that's what you are trying to say?

Yes, unless someone finds a new exploit that works on newer firmware versions.

Actually, there is an alternative: the only method that works on every firmware is Japanese game (that works only on JAP consoles) + Cyber Gadget Save Editor

  4. PKHeX is a PC program, the firmware of your 3DS doesn't matter and never will.

The RAM exploits you can use to get files that you can edit with PKHeX won't be updated because the updated browser included in Ver 9.5.0-23 and later has removed the exploits, hackers have to find a new one and it's not simple, maybe it's impossible, we don't know.

It has been already said on this forum hundreds of times ;)

  5. Wrong.

    I have successfully used ram2sav on AS 1.4 and Y 1.5.

Interesting. Guess those reports were false then.

Since I updated to the 1.3/1.4 patches (I haven't tested it yet with 1.4/1.5) RAM2Sav creates the ramsav.bin file but PKHeX can't read it (I'm still on 9.2.0-20 sysnand, I downloaded the patches through rxTools' emuNand and fortunately they are recognized by the sysNand), that's not a big problem because I can just use a second SD card with only the RAM2Sav files on it (so no patches), edit what I want, inject the edited ramsav, save and then put the primary SD card back in the 3DS.

So the reports aren't false, there are mixed results :)

  6. OK, that's a little more helpful. But is it just those two games or are there any that actually work? I'm only asking as it was suggested earlier on in this thread to be able to update to a specific firmware.

Here's my idea of why firmwares updated through 3DS games don't work (first posted here: http://projectpokemon.org/forums/showthread.php?45804-9-4-0-12U-Web-Injection-Not-Working&p=202778&viewfull=1#post202778 ), could this be the problem?

Maybe that "-12" is the problem, if you normally updated through the Internet when 9.4 was the latest firmware you would have got FW 9.4.0-21, I read that the -12/-20/-21/-22 thing is the version of the web applications (eShop app, Web Browser) of the console, so maybe the FW update contained in SSB/STEAM doesn't update the Browser and you have a too old Browser version to use the RAM exploits... Just my idea, it's the only possible explaination I can think of :)

My browser version is 1.7567 (I'm on FW 9.2.0-20), check yours in the browser settings (where you delete cookies and browser history).

    (sorry for my English)
