I breed a new Garchomp in my SoulSilver and hatch in Battle Frontier, but pkhex mark this pokemon as illegal for your Met Location.

If i put the Origin Game: Platinum instead SoulSilver, pkhex mark as legal, so surely is PkHex not recognize the HGSS Battle Frontier, only Platinum BF.

By chance could you upload the file here?  It'll make it easier to determine the issue.

I'll try to get the save onto my computer this weekend to explore. I do still have a few Pokemon with my original trainer/secret ID on my pearl to copy over and can make reasonable assumptions as to when I caught everything else (Starter was on my birthday in 2010, I remember the days of the week and roughly when in the month in 2010 I got the other things in my team so can use old calendars to piece together), so worst case scenario I could use AR Codes to catch them and then edit them in PkHex to have virtually identical data to how they were, though exploring the save sounds more promising and interesting.

If you can extract them from the save there is a chance that you will not have to guess on any of the data it could all be there.  That's if the party is transferred in it's entirety which there is a real possibility that may be the case.

    EDIT

@DaisyWaisyI've done some looking into what data the game stores for the Trainer House and it is a lot less then I was hoping to find.  None the less this was what I was able to decipher from my save.  Several trainers can be stored in the section, but  I don't know how many trainers can be stored.  It looks like it is a lot more then the 5 trainers that are in the house.  As well, the default trainer Ace Trainer Cal does not appear in this list.

-The first part of one trainers block starts with a header that has the trainers name, ID, SID, and what I believe to be the selected trainer class.  There seems to be a little more data in the header, but it seems unimportant for the Pokemon information.

-Each Pokemon is about 34 bytes in the list with some being less and some being a little more.

-The Pokemon data that is stored that I could determine at a first look through is in the following order is the Pokemon index number, held item, moves, ID, SID, PID, temp value (unused), moves PP, IV block, EVs, Ability, and Pokemon name.  At the moment I couldn't find, but it has to be there is some value that is either the Pokemon's EXP or level.

Just a thought regarding finding them in the save; Action replay codes exist allowing you to capture enemy Pokemon. Would such a code be an easier solution? Also how would they react to trainer house Pokemon, are OTs retained? Gosh all these questions make me really wish I had access to his save now as even beyond me getting similar copies of my old Pokemon, I'm just curious now.

You'll run into the same legality issues if you do that and using the AR code to catch that way will discard relevant information.  That is why I mapped that RAM to preserve the important information.  But, in your case I'd say first try to find the Pokemon in the save file.  Even though I don't know how much of the Pokemon data is transferred to the Pokewalker, you can hope that the Pokemon in their entirety transferred during friend interaction.  If not the RAM dump will be your best bet then,

Thank you so much this is so useful! Concerning the save itself its just that I dont have his save specifically backed up yet sorry I didn't phrase my original post very well. In terms of reading from memory, I'm a little inexperienced. Can desmume do this directly or would I need a second hex reader running in the background?

You’ll need to dump the complete RAM when the Pokémon is on the field and then open the RAM dump in a hex editor such as HxD.  Unfortunately, with that method it’s not really suited for this task since you will be missing vital data for legality.  A better method is to find them in the save since I’m going to assume it will contain more complete data.  If no one helps you by next Thursday I’d be willing to help you find them in the save since you’ve peaked my curiosity.

I don't see an option for the trainer house teams in PKHeX, though the saves I currently have access to don't have anything stored in there which may be a contributing factor. I haven't been able to find any info online that there is an option in PKHeX to view trainer house data, so am unsure what to do when I do manage to back the save up.

As far as I can see Pokémon House editing isn’t apart of PKHeX so you will not be able to use that to dump then.  As far as I’m aware no one has done the research to find that in the save.  Also if the save is empty you might not have dumped to save properly.  If the save is dumped properly and you can load it up in an emulator you might find the attach thread useful to some degree.  However, extracting them directly from the save will probably give better results.

    Thanks for your reply!

I see some conflicting ones there: I don't have darumaka with zen mode, but I have it refistered. Maybe it was registered in my gen 6/7 national dex in bank.

For furfrow, I did have to add the trims to gen 7, then transfer from bank.

Still puzzled anout the 1346/7 entries in seitch version. Adding the 91 male/female versions to the 1250 list from mobile  adds up to 1341...which forms is switch counting and mobile not?

Edit: joe merrick uploaded a living form dex, I think it misses male/female though: hoopa unbound is able to be HOMEd too

You are correct on my inconsistencies.  With Darmanitan I added both Zen Mode ones so I wasn’t aware that you didn’t need to deposit one with the ability to get the Zen Form to register.  Furfrow I say the 1/10 mark, but didn’t realize I was missing the left and right arrows oops.  Lastly, I checked and it turns out I transferred the unbound Hoopa.

  7. @suloku from my experience the battle/item from changes are added once the Pokemon in its base form is deposited, with all other forms needing to be deposited in that form.  Keep in mind that this is a list prior to the DLC and for Pokemon that you only have to deposit the base form to get all the forms that if you add a shiny base form you will not unlock the shiny version of all the forms EX) adding shiny Arceus will only add base form shiny Arceus to the dex.   HOME does add the not Bankable/HOMEable and obscure forms.  So here is my list to get all the forms.

    Spoiler
    • Megas - Deposit the base form of that Pokemon.
    • Gigantamax - Deposit the base form of that Pokemon that has the ability to Gigantamax.
    • Regional variants - Deposit or transfer the version of the Pokemon to HOME.
    • Pikachu - Transfer all 7 hat forms from Pokemon Bank.  Deposit one to get its normal form.  See Gigantamax part to get the Gigantamax one.
    • Unown - Transfer all 28 forms from Pokemon Bank.
    • Castform - Transfer one from Pokemon Bank to add all 4 forms to the dex.
    • Deoxys - Transfer all 4 forms Pokemon Bank.
    • Cherrim - Deposit one to add both forms to the dex.
    • Shellos - Deposit/transfer both forms.
    • Gastrodon - Deposit/transfer both forms.
    • Burmy - Transfer all 3 forms Pokemon Bank.
    • Wormadam - Transfer all 3 forms Pokemon Bank.
    • Rotom - Deposit all 6 forms.
    • Giratina - Transfer Altered Form from Pokemon Bank and both forms will be added to the dex.
    • Shaymin - Transfer Land Form from Pokemon Bank and both forms will be added to the dex.
    • Arceus - Transfer one from Pokemon Bank to add all 18 forms to the dex.
    • Basculin - Deposit both forms.
    • Darmanitan - Deposit one to register both forms.

    • Greninja - Transfer from Pokemon Bank one with the Battle Bond ability to get both forms in the dex.
    • Vivillon - Transfer all 20 forms from Pokemon Bank.
    • Flabebe - Transfer all 5 forms from Pokemon Bank.
    • Floette - Transfer all 6 forms I mean 5 forms from Pokemon Bank.
    • Florges - Transfer all 5 forms from Pokemon Bank.

I'm interested to find out if any iOS users received the Magearna (assuming they didn't complete their dex in the first few hours of launch).
If not, we know what's the issue.

Also, it's interesting how you're an iOS user but able to see the Unown Challenge XD

I didn’t know other iOS users couldn’t see that challenge.  Also I only completed the dex this morning since someone traded me a Zacian over the GTS.

I'm on Android and I can't see the Unown challenge despite having every Unown form deposited. So who knows what the deal is there.

I can see and have completed the Unown challenge.  The only challenges I don;t have completed are the one where you need to catch 30 Pokemon with each type of ball.  I even have the dex completed and I didn't get the Megearna.  I'm also on iOS so that could be causing the issue.

How do we get all the hidden pokemon in sword and shield?  I mean  like this ones encoded in that haven't come out yet or even the ones that will come out with the dlc?

Unless you add the 35 Pokemon currently unavailable into your save using PKHeX which could cause your Switch to be band, you'll have to wait until next month when Pokemon HOME comes out.  For the DLC Pokemon you'll have to wait until June for the first set and then November for the second set.  I recommend just wait until HOME comes out to get the 35 that are currently in the game since February isn't that far off and it's a short month so you won't have to wait long for HOME.

In any games, Umbreon doesn't learn Toxic. That's why.

Gen 2 to 7 Umbreon could learn Toxic with a TM.

    hello,

hello, i don't understand why toxic is incompatible with umbreon in pkhex: invalid move error.

    thanks for your help

I'm going to assume that you are trying to make an Umbreon for a gen 8 save.  In gen 8 Toxic is no longer a TM or TR so it can't learn the move.  If you're wanting a Toxic Umbreon you'll have to wait until February when Pokemon Home comes out to transfer one from a previous gen.

  12. Are you referring to mechanic similar to how in Sword and Shield does not allow you catch Pokemon in the Wild Area at too high of a level, but in an ORAS setting?  If so ORAS does not have that limiting feature.  Or are you referring to when you get a Pokemon that does not have your trainer information and how it will disobey you until you have the correct badge?  If that's the case you will have to edit which badges you have, but that could mess with story elements.  Or are you referring to how in Secret Bases you can have all Pokemon at level 50 or use the machine in the base to battle them at their actual level?  In that scenario I don't think PKHaX or PKHeX can help you since I don't think Secret Base decorations have been researched, therefore; can not be added to the program and I don't think there is a program out there that lets you edit existing bases.  Does any of these answers answer your question?

  13. Now that I'm done school for the semester I figured that I would finish conducting tests to try and fill in the missing data in the structure, as well update the data that I was unsure about.  Therefore, the original post has been updated to reflect my most recent tests and now I feel relatively certain that the presented data is accurate.  I most likely will not be making any changes to the above table or carry out further tests on this subject.

  14. I've ran a few more tests with changing the number of badges obtained, entered the Hall of Fame, and made a new save to make sure it wasn't an issue with the save.  In all of these tests as soon as I tried to release the second last Pokemon it would always come back.  I'm thinking this is to try and prevent the player from missing out on double battles since the game stops you from entering a double battle if there is only one Pokemon on your team.  Now I'm wondering if Pokemon Box or migrating Pokemon to gen 4 is able to mess with this restriction.

  15. @Adilson Filho BR I've looked at your save and I think I know what is happening, but I'm not 100% sure.  However, I think it has to do with that the 7th gym being a mandatory double battle and to prevent the player from getting trapped the game is stopping you from releasing your second Pokemon.  I've tried adding Pokemon to the save and releasing different combinations  of them and I always get stopped at the last two.  So I recommend either leaving two Pokemon in your PC or remove them with PKHeX.  So to answer your questions from what I think is happening:

    1) Just make sure you have two caught Pokemon on your save and when you start using HMs make sure you have a Pokemon somewhere on the game that knows the move.

    2) You just seem to have met the criteria the game has set out to prevent you from releasing Pokemon.  See my answer for question 1.

    3) No.

    4) See above description, as well as, my answers for questions 1 and 2.

I need help for change Rival Starter in Pokémon Gen4 & Gen 5 saves, exist some method? What's this method? Please, can you help me?

For Black and White I know if you open your save in a hex editor and change the byte at 00020160 which is the flag for which starter you chose to one of these bytes 00 = Snivy/Defult, 01 = Tepig, or 02 = Oshawatt will change your starters of you rivals to match accordingly.  Just make sure you open the save file in PKHeX and save it again using PKHeX after any manual edits you make in a hex editor since PKHeX will update the check sum.

I'm trying to use this mew for swsh and I need help making it legal.

It's impossible to make that Mew legal at the moment since there is no legitimate to transfer Pokemon from past generations to generation 8.  You'll have to wait for Pokemon Home to come out before you can try and transfer Pokemon legitimately or with PKHeX.
