How to patch:
The UPS program Tsukuyomi is unable to patch the ISO. Use NUPS if on windows. Use Multipatch on Mac.
Apply the patch file to a clean Pokemon XD: Gale of darkness ISO using any UPS patcher. This patch was made for the NTSC (US) version so it will not work on other versions. The iso is quite large so it may take a few minutes.
Always patch onto a clean ISO, even if you are applying an update.
The file size for the ISO should be 1.46 GB (1.35 GiB). If it's an nkit (1.1. GB) ISO then you'll need to convert to a regular ISO using this tool. If the file size is below 1GB it's probably in a .zip, .7z, .rar or other archive and needs to be unzipped.

@theSLAYERI think this should be moved to the PkHex forum.

So the backup save slot can be populated.

The game needs to be saved at least twice in order for pkhex to recognize it. Also GLDAAUE is just the internal cart identifier.

Did you set the mon back in a party or box spot.

Minccios have cute charm or technician.. is that normal?
If the documentation says they do then, yes.
-
Have you tried opening the edited save in pkhex after exporting it to check if the changes are seen by it? Did you make sure to click save in the items window?

I don't think that feature existed in gen 4 or 5. Gen 3 yes (Record mixing). Gen 6 Definitely (pss).

I know I'm late to the conversation on this one.
I was doing the same thing as OP but also whit shiny mins bred on crystal. I wanted to trade kanto mons back so they had the "met in kanto"
I just did the drag and drop between saves as it's quicker.
The only issue (If it is) I come across is when gen 2 are moved back to gen 1 I ctrl click the legal tick and the data recognises it as a gen 1 static mon instead of gen 2 egg hatch.
However when I move back a gen 2 with eggs moves, bulbasaur for example, pkhex recognises it as a gen 2 egg.
You might need to enable gen 2 tradeback moves when loading a gen 1 save

I don't know of anything for LGPE or GO. Gen 1 is RBY, 2 is GSC, 3 is RSEFRLG, Gen 4 is DPPHGSS, Gen 5 is BWB2W2. LGPE is considered Gen 7.

For gen 1 and 2 you can use pikasav. For gen 3 you can use a-save by kazowar. For gen 4 and 5 you can use pokegen by codr. All of which are available in the downloads section. If you want to edit more than pokemon and items I don't think their is anything public to do so except a mystery gift injector for gen 3.

Heyah !
Well first, I want to thanks again for the custom path for Pokémon Database, this changed a lot of things for me and helped me a lot for my collection, this is really the best thing ever
Now, I've a little question since i'm working to clean on my Drive Folders (where my RNG saves are stored) : My saves are in the root of the Drive, but i've a lot of backup, special situations saves in some folders / subfolders. When I Input my custom path (so the root of my drive) it reads everything, even the folders and the subfolders ones.
It's logic, but just wanted to know if there was a way to tell the tool to only read the exact path set ? Just wanted to know if there was a solution before cleaning / organizing my drive otherwise to make my database even better.
Thanks o/The term you're looking for is "recursive scan" @Kaphotics Any chance you could implement a toggle?

Thanks mate.
It just felt cheeky as I was all set up to RNG abuse Fire Red then thought hang on a minute.
Gathering its just preference that people would continue to try and hit the right frame?
Could you let me know if I'm getting my initial seed correctly
Following this guide (attached image).
Looks good to me.
EDIT: You'll want the first 4 bytes which is the first 8 characters.

Question regarding RNG abuse on Fire Red / Leaf Green on emulator and rom.
Im obtaining the FR initial seed from memory viewer each time I load the game. I then put the seed into RNG reporter with my TID and SID and click shiny only.
When I run the search it brings back a few matches.
Could I just input the located PID and IV's into PkHex and create the mon that way?
Thanks
Yes

That is a save state. Make sure you save ingame via the normal method (press x->save) then file->export backup memory.

I think your best bet, is to take any 493 rom hack and extract p_enc_data.narc for wild encounters and insert it into a clean rom.
-
You'll be fine. Although if you change the base stats of a mon that happens to be in your party, it's current stats won't update until it levels up iirc
-
I think your only option on a physical copy is to use an action replay if you don't a way to extract your save.
-
If you're editing a mon you need to set it back to a spot, otherwise you can try closing pkhex completely then reopening it and loading the just exported sav.

It's technically possible, although It would probably be easier to change the basic info of a donor save near where you want to be.

What happens if you make a min that you can't get in that game, can you still change the info and prevent XP boost?
yes

I definitely want to use the mons online. What do I have to do to make them stay shiny, have my info and be legit for the gen 3-4 mons?
You must've posted while i was editing. In order for them to be legal use pokefinder.

You said if the origin is 1-2 and 5-7 but I'm creating the pokemon from scratch do you mean the gen they were created in?
Yes
I'm using the download files to get a shiny living dex so they are all shiny from the start so do I only have to do the codes to make them mine (SID, OT, TID) or do I still have to do .PID=$shiny after making them mine?
Yes
If so how do I calculate the PID or is there a code to do that for me
.PID=$shiny will do that for you
For a mon to be shiny the PID, SID and TID are run through a calculation and the result determines if the mon is shiny. if you change any of those values the mon will most likely no longer be shiny. ".PID=$shiny" makes the mon shiny (by changing the PID )based on the new TID and SID but breaks the correlation between the IV's and PID for Gen 3 and 4 mons. If you don't care about the legality of the mons (or using them online including sending them through the bank) you have no further issues to worry about. -
I don't believe it's possible at this point. Maybe in the future.
Possible Natures for Gen IV Spreads with Flawless IVs

saw op edit, more info, add spoiler
According to PokeGen which is my goto for gen 4 pokemon editing there are several dozen across all methods documented at the the time of it's most recent release. (there is no way i'm typing all that into a spreadsheet :P) AFAIK method 2 and 3 are common to emulators and have basically never been confirmed on og hardware. for more info check this smogon writeup
