Thank you very much for the assistance. I like the idea of using another move in place of hypnosis on Politoed, and have considered running a different rotom set due to the fact that hidden power fire is weakened. I did make the change on Toxicroak from leftovers to black sludge. It was a great choice as someone did try to trick me out, and ended up being hurt in the process. Thank you again.

@randomspot555: Yeah, I was expecting something entirely different on the Scizor (why I Protected first). He must have been new to the competitive world. I know I've been there.
@ Wraith89: Thank you for the sprites; really makes a better impression. Totally blown away that Gliscor out sped Salamence, but as mentioned above, he must have been new to competitive battling. Thankfully, I had people like you, randomspot, Mewtwo EX, and Tbird to help me become a better battler.

I found it very ironic that not five minutes after posting a team building discussion and questioning the usefulness of the Gliscor I have on my team, this battle happened. Hope you enjoy.

It's been a while since I last posted a team for assistance. With the introduction of the new weather inducing abilities in Gen 5, I wanted to try my hand at making one of my own. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
[hgsssprite]186[/hgsssprite]
Politoed (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Hypnosis
- Protect
My lead for the specific role of weather induction, and to some extent a special wall.
[sprite]479-2[/sprite]
Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 128 HP / 252 SAtk / 128 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hidden Power [Fire]
My special attacker and, through experience, a valuable asset to a Rain team.
Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Spikes
- Stealth Rock
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball
My physical wall and trap setter. Prefer Ferrothorn in this set since one of the greatest threats to him is his fire weakness, which is quickly remedied by the rain, leaving fighting as the considerable danger.
[sprite]454[/sprite]
Toxicroak (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Dry Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Drain Punch
- Sucker Punch
- Substitute
- Bulk Up
My primary physical attacker, and probably the most benefited by the rain thanks to dry skin.
[hgsssprite]091[/hgsssprite]
Cloyster (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Ice Shard
- Shell Smash
My secondary physical sweeper, though I feel that I have been on the wall with Cloyster. Ice shard has come in handy to finish off weak opponents and the dragon/flying and ground/flying foes. Considering replacing with a spinner such as Starmie, but would love some feedback.
[sprite]472[/sprite]
Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Swords Dance
- Protect
I love the ability on Gliscor, and use his typing to the fullest when an electric attack is aimed at one of my waters. However, I haven't managed to really use him to his fullest.
Thanks again for any comments and suggestions that are given. I anxiously await hearing from what people have to say.

Thank you very much for the helpful advice. I think I will try my hand on Pokemon Online or the irc. If your Wi-Fi does become DS compatible, please notify for a battle.
-
Looking to battle anyone on Black and White Wi-Fi.
- Lvl. 100 6vs6 Singles
- Open to any type of battle, but please notify what you would prefer (OU,UU,NU,RU,BL,Uber)
- Pokemon Black: Name: Sukotto ; FC: 1464 1202 7380
- Please no outrageously hacked Pokemon. If you have used Pokesav/Pokegen to generate LEGAL battling Pokemon, they are welcome. (An example of an unwelcome hacked Pokemon would include one with all its stats maxed out, or the notorious Wonder Guarded Spiritomb)
- I will be available to battle at ant point today between the hours of 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm, and will remain on the site for contact. As or the rest of the week, please send a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible to work out a time that will work for us both.
Hope to hear back from someone, and looking forward to some good battling practice.
-
One word of advice from personal experience: be careful running your Hydreigon set. I used to run one very similar (Fire Blast over Flamethrower for more power). Be forewarned of the drawback of using Draco Meteor with Choice Band. You will get that great power boost, but after only a couple DM, you may find yourself in a tricky spot. I would recommend running Dragon Pulse instead; you lose some power, but you don't lose his much needed power.
-
I have as of yet encountered anyone from here in the game to battle/trade. Let's set up some dates/times to which we can meet in the club room (middle person at 2nd floor of pokecenter) in hopes of finally making encounters. How about any day from about 3pm-4pm EST, 4pm-5pm MST, 5pm-6pm CST, 6pm-7pm EST? Hopefully this will work...
-
Cydetu and Haganeno, make sure to post your in-game name with your friend code. Not enough help with only 50% of the needed info...
-
I'd love to register new people to battle . Friend Code is in the signature. Message my page when you add me and we can set up a time to meet in the wifi room.
-
Feebass for his/her requirement to evolve bugs me. Zubat and Bidoof for how little experience you receive for killing them and how long it takes to level them up.
Edit: HAHA Didn't realize I've already kinda posted something about this. ... X_X... Don't judge me...
-
@ Wraith: Best... Post... Ever!!!
It'd be a lot to ask for, but it would be pretty sick to have a different storyline for boy and girl.
I'd laugh to see the sinister gangs/teams in these games be Team Ying and Team Yang. X)
I'm not sure what to expect, but it would be nice to see more reaction out of people for some legends you might have obtained ( much as Wraith pointed out).
-
Totally neglected to post purpose for each poke. Sorry, lack of sleep killed me. Let's begin:
Smeargle: Opener with trick to limit opponent move set. Set up spore to put to sleep, and opt out with u-turn to big in a heavier hitter.
Rotom-h: Similar to smeargle with trick option. Mainly reserved for walls such as Blissey who are harder to break down.
Gyarados: Main Sweeper. Build up stats with DD, and unleash power. Prefer Stone Edge on enemies switching in with likely chance of electric.
Tyrranitar: Secondary Sweeper. Sand Stream breaks down enemies (though at some points my team) and allows for pursuit to take out retreats.
Forretres: Rapid Spinner and Heavy Defense. Giving thought to replacing Earthquake with Explosion. Very little influence on speed, so will often take a larger attack and Payback for greater amount.
Blissey: Wall and Healer. Serve to heal up against drawn out enemies while breaking down with toxic and seismic toss.

Thank you both so much for the help. Been playing these games since I was a little kid. Guess I really haven't acquired the hang a great team building.

I agree with amh792'a idea of the baby forme of Tauros/Miltank. I'd really like to see them make more Eeveelutions and finish up every type for Eevee. I gotta say that I really liked Torkoal from Gen 3. He'd be sick with an evolution. I totally thought at first that he was fire and ground, but found out just fire quickly after catching him. Giving him and evolution of maybe fire and steel would look kinda tight (though now I'm starting to picture Heatran).
-
Glad everything is good. Like the new upgrade. Great job!
-
Would like to battle whenever. Name and Friend Code in my sig. Send me a message when you can. Prefer using my Platinum.
-
Would enjoy a battle. Name and Friend Code are in my signature. I usually use Platinum. Send a message when you can battle. I'm good just about whenever.
-
I've disliked a lot of the pokemon in the game that have either taken a great deal of time to level up or evolve, or that you find in the wild and do not give you very much experience: Bidoof, Magikarp, Abra, Feebass. The benefit you get from these guys when they evolve is awesome, but you have to put so much into these guys to get something better out of them.
-
Just looking for some battling. Totally cool with battling anyone and anything (other than MAJORLY Hacked Pokemon, e.g. Wondertomb). My name and FC are in my signature (I prefer Platinum, but will battle with Diamond) . Please add me, and message me back when you can battle. I'm good just about any time. With all that said... BRING ON THE BATTLES!!!
-
Would enjoy a battle. Whenever you get the chance, let's battle.

Thank you both very much for all the advice. I have considered using Tentacruel, but am more than willing to give it a try on my team. As for Dragonite, I would like to give it a chance, but am not sure where to fit it in. Perhaps replacing Toxicroak or Rotom? Any suggestions?
