Maybe they are different genders? like Gyrados having different coloured barbels.
I think these are decent something fresh and new to keep attention. I read elsewhere that the CoroCoro article was hinting at a new way of evolution (i dont know the exact text sadly..) but if thats the case maybe this might be the first evolving legendary? whould be real cool ;D
We don't know for sure yet, though this Pokemon could be like Lucario since we all thought that it was also a "legendary". I don't know if anyone still considers it as one but in my opinion, it is not. Coro Coro is expected to give more details out and Pokemon Sunday as well so we'll have to wait a few more weeks but you never know some of the info could be leaked on the internet before then.

HA! Take that people-who-thought-it-was-an-evolution-of-other-Pokémon and the people-who-thought-it-looked-similar-to-previous-Pokémon.
This is my logic: Why would they introduce an evolution of a previous Pokémon when a new game is coming out? If it was from something pre-existing, people would lose hype saying "Oh, I have the Pokémon needed to get it, no worries." But this, is a brand new Pokémon, and no one knows the conditions and what else comes with it, yet.

Did anyone else notice the fact that the evolved form has a different hair tie in the two pictures? In one its very thin with a leaf attached possibly and the other is a thick blue band. Weird... O_o

Nice, had a feeling it was going to be a Dark type. Their design isn't too bad, that was my main concern. The first form looks better then the evolved form to me, though I am happy with their designs, they don't look too over the top/don't look like an actual animal. Can't wait to hear the American name, probably be something funny, maybe Lupin something since it is a fox.
I'm also curious to know what kind of American name they'll come up with, though we won't find out till next year.
And I had high hopes that it would've of been an evolution of a Mightyena because the silhouette was pretty much similar to it.

I don't know about this. The Wii and the DS are both still selling really well, so announcing a successor this early would be counter - productive. It could be just another rehash of the DS (Like the DSI, DSI XL, DS Lite, etc) but other than that I call BS on this one.

I just found out that the game WILL be for the Nintendo DS. So theres no new console.

I personally see it as a completely new evolution of Mightyena. If you compare Mightyena with the new Pokemon silhouette, you can obviously see some little similarities. It looks like Mightyena became a werewolf and werewolves shape shift (don't they?)

Doh! Completely forgot about that! I guess I thought that Gen 5 would be on a new handheld console.
If it did then the new console should've been announced waaaayyy before the games.

No actually in my opinion they actually released it at a good time. (10th anniversary!).

This generation has been handled a bit differently, though. Only around 14 months seperated FireRed and LeafGreen from Ruby/Sapphire; so waiting over 2 years between the Kanto remakes and Diamond/Pearl made more sense.
HeartGold and SoulSilver came out 3 years after Diamond and Pearl, which is quite a bit longer than 14 months. Had they decided to wait another 2 years after Hg/Ss before releasing Gen V, then the gap between IV and V would've been 5 years; and that would be unprecedented. And, IMO, a bit too long for my liking.
By the time the Gen V games come out in Japan, it will have been about 4 years since D/P was released; and that's still the longest gap we've had between generations (matching the gap between Gen III & IV, and exceeding those between I & II, and II & III).

If they waited 4-5 years to release a new generation then they wouldn't make as much money as they used to thus making the Pokemon franchise go down the drain. Well let me re-phrase that. The franchise wouldn't actually go down the drain because they still have all the merchandise sales and the Anime/Mana/TCG etc.. but yeah, they'll lose a lot of money due the handheld games/console games since they play a huge role as well.

I agree with giving flareon flareblitz as well. Shame it won't happen.
Nobody said anything about it coming soon. The new 5th Gen game(s) will be released in Japan by the end of the year and and even longer for the games to be released in the US/Canada!

I think this is a 5th Generation Legend and its being revealed a little like how Lucario was revealed in the movie. I could be wrong though. D:
But yeah people don't really consider Lucario as a legend.

I'll post my latest siggys/banners or whatever I make out of Photoshop CS4 here. (: Just an FYI: I'm just starting to learn this graphics stuff and I can tell you that not all of my work will be good! :< But later on in the year you'll see a lot of improvement
EDIT: I'm not going to do any requests at the moment, I am merely posting these to see what people think about them and when I get comfortable in making Siggys I'll do requests!

With the new twist in this process I would like to put in some support for voting or changing your vote to Deoxys. As Guested and Codemonkey argued, Deoxys represents, better than the other options the spirit of Project Pokémon. Suicune does not really have anything to offer as far as symbolism, neither does Dragonite. Representation of the first gen, choosing someone who is underrated or what avatar an admin uses, should have nothing to do with the mascot. We should pick whoever represents our ideals and goals the best. That is, to cover the details (DNA) of how things work in the game as well as make available many or all Forms of Pokémon information. Deoxys would be a very flexible mascot in that we can use the different forms to represent different areas of the community. Or different topics that we cover. For these reasons, I encourage everyone to change their vote to Deoxys. To those that have not voted, vote for Deoxys, its the option that makes the most sense for us.
To be honest I chose Dragonite because I just didn't see any other Pokemon in the Poll list eligible to be a mascot, now I know this sounds weird but Dragonite, IN MY OPINION should be the mascot because it fits him better than the rest.

In my opinion, it will either be released on a new system or Wii. My theory is supported by these facts:
Gen I - Pokemon R/B/Y - Gameboy
Gen II - Pokemon G/S/C - Gameboy Color
Gen III - Pokemon R/S/E/LG/FR - Gamboy Advance
Gen IV - Pokemon D/P/Pt/HG/SS - Nintendo DS
Thus Gen V will be released with either of these two system methods:
Gen V - Pokemon Unkown Title - New System
Gen V - Pokemon Unkown Title - Nintendo Wii
The best bet for Gen V Pokemon Game will be on the Wii, that way no new system will be developed and released in order to get the game out quickly.
However, there is another possibility that Gen V won't be introduced to a new system or Nintendo Wii. Gen V could stay on the DS systems, but have more enhanced capabilities if used in the Nintendo DSi. Like use the DS Shop or a new feature added through a special promotion.
If what you say is true then Nintendo will have no choice but to announce the new system BEFORE the games are released(obviously) and my guess is that like the DS the "new" system should be able to play DS games like the DS plays the Gameboy Games only if the new system games aren't catridges. And the Nintendo DS was announced 4-5 months before the DPPt Games were released so I expect a new Nintendo system soon, if not then I guess there will be no new system.
Because the movie director never intented to have Arceus portrayed as "God", he even states himself that Arceus represents nature to which we must contribute to preserve it not damage it.That still doesn't explain the max stats Arceus has.

Thats because they announced those cards yesterday. When they launched the expansion their announcement stated that there were 120 cards.
