  1. That's not entirely accurate, yes a copy of the Pokémon does remain on the HGSS savefile, but there is essentially a partial clone contained in the Pokewalker data itself. You can do a key combo at the Pokewalker menu in HGSS to "recall a Pokémon" if your Pokewalker is lost or broken, because the entire "original" Pokémon is still in a hidden slot on the savefile, but there is something on the Pokewalker more than just the species index value. If you test the Pokewalker using Spinda, you can see that the spot pattern is retained, as are form differences with gender and such for other species. Spinda having the correct spots is important, because that means the PID value is also retained by Pokewalker, as that is required to render accurate spot patterns. If one were to dump the RAM of the Pokewalker and recover that PID value, it could be used to reconstruct the Pokémon's Nature, Gender, IVs, etc. I'm unsure if Nickname, Trainer ID, Secret ID, Trainer Name, moves, level, etc. are also all retained, but the PID alone would be plenty to go off of. It looks like some other communities have done a significant amount of digging into Pokewalker hacking, like these two for example, they appear to have made some headway: http://dmitry.gr/?r=05.Projects&proj=28. pokewalker https://github.com/mamba2410/reverse-pokewalker It would take some significant effort and some digging to find it, but it's in there... Somewhere.

  2. Thanks for the kind words! All credits dued for SMD move shortcuts go to End and Irdkwia, not me, just so you know. 2.0 adds a ton of stuff to make the game more enjoyable for everyone, I'm glad you look forward to it! Unfortunately the development is on hold as I have had a big drop of motivation lately, but I will get back to it eventually The remainder of the to-do list adds side-quests for both endgame QoL and more gameplay designs for main story and endgame alike It will take the time it needs to be released as I am not looking for clout with a fast release nor for a burnout if I overwork myself

  3. I got it fixed! as much as i doubt anyone will stumble upon this error I'll share what I did: I initially wanted to find a save editor that could let me change my location to inside the gym, but didnt find one. After the post about resetting the NPC I began to wonder if I could do that through the save editor (i used PkHex). Looking at some event flags I saw there was one about my rival in Olivine City, I set it to "Not Encountered" (or words tothe effect) and went back into the game. The NPC was still in the door but I got am alert and interaction with my rival whose ghostly aparrition came from the door. I finished the conversation, entered the lighthous and came back to Olivine, and I finially was able to get into th gym and defeat Jasmine!

  6. Looking at `main` in a hex editor, the beginning and end appear properly encrypted, but the majority of the data is plaintext junk. Nothing can be recovered from your attached data. Regarding using another save: These games aren't that much of a toil; just spend the few hours blazing up to where you left off.

  7. Going back to MARIO Mew. This are a few images from different sources (most of them are from Twitter). Just sharing this because in the future years we can acknowledge a part of the range of the Mews that were distributed. 51259 is the lowest ID I've seen. (Sold on ebay I think) Followed by 51273 (which is the one of this post) 51292 (From Imgur, and the one of the letter from this post) and 51295 is the highest seen yet. (From Twitter). According to this distribution, 151 Mews were distributed. For sure some of them were between 51259 to 51295. Edit 7/17/2022: This one was also found on twitter, hard to read but seems that the ID was 51352. Now the range of 151 Mews could had been between 51259 and 51352. Given this evidence, I'd like to believe that the distribution started at 51210 or 51250, and they were incremented by 1 each one, but this is just pure speculation.

  12. Hi i am sharing my Pokemon Omega Ruby save file (USA) with you which also includes Pokemon from older main games. (I played all of them on Emulator) The game itself is pretty much completed on this save file, at least I wouldnt know what there is left to do. Save is around 140 hours of game time, boxes are full with mostly only cute Pokemon like Corsola, Mew, a bunch of Latias since I like those, Ralts, Buneary, Audino, Skitty, Ditto, etc. and one box with the ingame legendarys. Many shinies I caught myself like Latias (around 2500 resets), Corsola, Luvdisc, Skitty, Mew (on Faraway Island, Emerald) and so on and it also includes event pokemon which i found on this site. Have fun & lets stay cute together. main

  16. @sleepvertical so your save from the cartridge is working. Hence why it's loading on PKHeX. However to load it into the 3DS VC, a few things need to happen: 1) The save needs to be named specifically sav.dat 2) Extra bytes at the end needs to be added. If you provide the save, I can do it for you. As for Stadium moves, they shouldn't be there, but it's not like the game would freeze up cause they're there.

  19. In the long run, it's probably faster to start a fresh save and give yourself whatever pokemon/items/money was lost, and power through the game to get back to the same level of progress with some level 100 pokemon. If the solution takes longer than "doing it over again from scratch" it's probably better to just do it over from scratch.

  25. It's crazy how far this hack has pushed Sky hacking, all the way since psycommando and evandixon's first divings. I never thought I'd see screenshots like these back when I was asking for Exp multiplier codes for BRT here as moumous4 years ago That hype for 2.0 man!! Feels like the wait for RTDX. And in many ways Alpha 2.0 sounds like a Sky Remake, with much thought put to please beginners and challengers alike. The most ambitious upcoming release in PMD hacking, for sure. And the most anticipated so forget about not looking for clout, too late it's there already Good luck for what's left on the todo list

  26. It says "object event" cause you're talking to a NPC model you're not supposed to. Trying leaving the NPC's range, then walking north into the entrance. Or same thing but from the east. Basically trigger the NPC to leave the gym and talk to the player. Trigger the script to play, as opposed to talking to a script item that isn't supposed to interact with the player.

  27. You aren’t supposed to link the saves. You can try by updating the Sysnand firmware to the latest (that can use CFW), then make Emunand based on your existing Sysnand. Use the same user profile on both nands.
    1 point
  28. You can load it in Emunand if you prefer. I’m CFW + Sysnand + online. I don’t block Nintendo servers, cause I use them. I used both at some time or another. I’m unsure which one I’m using right now; I’m assuming Checkpoint.

  30. It’s a bug. As long as you don’t pirate stuff and install nonsense it should be safe using CFW online, so you won’t have to worry about linking. I’ve been on CFW-only + online for years…

  31. Seems that way. Just make sure you have sufficient time differences between connecting online with said changes

  36. This mod patches a lot of things to bring the best possible playing experience. Here's what it will patch for you: Starter editing - Makes playing as other Pokémon possible High-Res model patching - Prevents your model from disappearing during certain closeups Portrait patching - Shows the default portrait in the absence of a more specific emotion portrait Animation patching - Substitute missing story animations with dungeon ones to avoid the attack animation being used for everything And something else in the scripts specific to Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon that can't be mentioned without revealing spoilers. It is the last item in a similar list in this video if you're fine with being spoiled, or if you've seen it before. You must have Java on your computer to use this. This has been tested on the North American and European versions of Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, and the North American version of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. I don't know if will work on the Japanese version of Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, but it will not work on any other version of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. Instructions On the New Project window, choose "Starter Mod" in the drop-down, and fill in the name with something that makes sense. Then click OK. Wait until the loading is complete. This is one of the heavier mods, and may take some time even on beefier computers. Save the solution, to avoid having to repeat step 2 if something goes wrong. Expand the project you just created and open "fixed_pokemon.bin". You can do this either by double-clicking or by right-clicking and clicking Open. Edit things to your liking. You should see this when editing Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon (Gates to Infinity has a much simpler interface): For the purpose of this guide, I'll do this: Things to consider: Each Pokémon must have 4 moves. It's been a while since I tried having less, but I remember things not working with fewer than 4 moves. In my example, I got the first three moves from the level up, and the fourth from Zorua's set of egg moves, although you are not required to stick to these; you can pick anything you want. (PSMD only) The evolution must be the final evolution in the line. If you pick a Pokémon with multiple evolutions, the first on will be used. Refer to the PSMD Pokédex index to find which evolution comes first (for example, if the starter is Eevee, the first evolution is Vaporeon). Click File -> Save -> Save File. You can now rebuild the mod-pack. Note that this may take a while.

  37. Hello, I found an issue where Unown forms from Virtual Console games are marked as illegal in Ultra Sun, when they are legal before PKHeX's last update, only the "A" form shows as legal, if I manually change the other forms to "A", they show as legal, but any other form letter will show as illegal. When I click on it to check the legality, it shows me an error that makes no sense to me, and if the error was actually what it says, then the "A" form should be flagged as illegal as well, but they all have the same default data.

All of the legendary Pokémon are shiny. Most of the mythics are shiny. The rest of them are shiny-locked. I obtained all of the stamps in the game. Your party is all Ash-Greninja. 42. PKHeX is now able to edit parts of the save, known as save blocks. It allows users to export and import various save blocks. Here's a tutorial on how to get it done. Steps 0. Keep a safe backup of your unedited save, somewhere on your computer. We're not liable if this results in a corrupted save. 1. Make sure you redownloaded and use the latest PKHeX. (Initial version with this feature caused corruption. Additionally, older copies do not have the feature) 2. Load the target save in PKHeX. 3. Now, click on SAV on the tabs. 4. Now, click on the button Block Data 5. Another window should open up. 6. Scroll through the dropdown list at Block Key:. For this example, I'll be importing the file normal_encount into *Object KNormalEncount (Original quote below, can be found here) Since I'm importing into *Object KNormalEncount, that is what my screenshot shows. 7. Now that Block Key: is showing the correct value, select Import Current Block. 8. A window should pop-up. Select the correct file to import, then select Open. In my case, I'm importing the file normal_encount. 9. Now that the file has been imported, close only the first window 10. Then, proceed to File > Export SAV... > Export main 11. Now close PKHeX. If you want to make sure the new save file is not corrupted, reopen PKHeX and try to load the save. 12. You're done. Now reimport the save into your Switch to observe the effects. Note: As of v.1.2.0 of the game, they added a new file called normal_encount_rigel1, which I've been told is required for wild area events to work. For wild area events Index 24 and lesser, simply also import normal_encount into knormalencountrigel1. This means normal_encount is imported into two block IDs, being knormalencount and knormalencountrigel1.

  43. Full Documents Related to the Distribution, the full copy of Pokemon Power Volume 6 is attached to this post: In the Fall of 1998 Nintendo Power held a contest to “Win Mew for your Pokémon collection!” 151 winners of this contest would be given the chance to mail their cartridge into the Nintendo Power Headquarters and receive it back with a brand-new mew on their game save. Contest winners were notified by mail by 2/28/1999 that they had won the contest, making this the earliest known Mew distribution in the west. Recently while browsing reddit, I ran across a post from Th4tGuyUKn0 showcasing his Original Red cartridge that was one of the lucky recipients of this contest. After scrolling through the thread, Th4tGuyUKn0 stated that the battery on the game had not yet dried out; upon reading this I immediately messaged him explaining Project Pokémon and asked him if he would be interested in dumping his game save. Luckily, he was all for it! The only problem was he could not remember which of his five Pokémon cartridges he left the mew on, and did not want to risk draining the more than two decades old cartridge battery by checking. Th4tGuyUKn0 graciously decided to send me all of his cartridges so that I could backup the saves and hopefully find the mew. With the amazing research done by @suloku on these save files, we are confident that we have found the Mew in question. In the Pokemon Blue game save we discovered a Mew with the TID 51273 (the same Mew ID# printed on the back of the cartridge) and the OT ‘MARIO’. Suloku has concluded that this Mew is definitely legit. It shares the exact same DVs as the YOSHIBA Mew, matches Mew machine distributions data-wise, and has the same OT Nintendo character naming convention that several forum posts from 2000~ reference. While this does raise questions about what distribution the supposed ‘NINTEN’ Mews are a part of, this Nintendo Power Mew is most certainly legit. Suloku was also able to find the Mew in the red save file as a deleted Pokémon (moved or deleted pokémon can be found in box savedata if it was not overwritten by another pokémon being stored in the same slot). Attached is the the .pk1 of the 1998 Nintendo Power 'MARIO' Mew. Thanks very much again to Th4tGuyUKn0 for sending and trusting us with these cartridges and Suloku for all of the great research, none of this would have been possible without them. Happy holidays and enjoy! 151 - MEW - C23C.pk1 Pokemon Power vol 6.pdf

  46. Happy to help! For once, holding onto that old stuff paid off. I hope it brings a lot of people joy. I know I was excited when I won the contest way back when! It's crazy to think that Pokemon is still such a big part of people's lives all these years later. A huge thanks to Suloku and Gridelin for reaching out. Otherwise this would still be sitting in a drawer.
