Problems with my Ultra Moon Save Data

So I'm trying to use the PKHeX tool to change some of the data on my Pokemon Ultra Moon save. Although, whenever I try and upload my save data, it says that "Attempted to load an unsupported file type/size/."

I'm currently at the point that you just get your starter in Ultra Moon

The size of the saved data is also only 1.04MB, so it's clearly not that big of a file.

 

I do have the PKHeX changed so that the game section is Ultra Moon, so I don't know what I am supposed to do next.

Anybody got any suggestions?

How did you obtained your save file? Is your 3DS hacked?

Looking at the save name, I would think it’s the encrypted copy ripped out directly from the SD card.

 

please don’t do that. Use a save manager to dump the save first, as per the tutorial in the reply Skylink98 made.

Thanks for the help, I was just originally extracting the save data, not any backup from Checkpoint
