Is it possible to transfer your save file from a non hacked switch to a hacked one, edit it and then put it back to my non hacked switch safely?

So I have a hacked and a non hacked switch. I want to edit my PKMN Scarlet save file from my non hacked switch and keep it clean. So iirc you can only transfer save data by login into your nintendo account on both switch and then do data management. Can I do this by login into sysnand or syscfw without getting banned and also edit the save file and update it back into my non hacked switch?

Or is there another way?

btw I could not find any other thread that discusses this topic so i hope it is alright

You can, provided you have nothing illegal or bannable on your Sysnand. No piracy, no installed apps (homebrew or otherwise), no illegal themes, nothing.

I have been using SysCFW with online for years. Transferred edited saves between 2 Switches.

you can access Homebrew via the homebrew launcher. Just don't install homebrew like an app that appears on your home page.

Do it all at your own risk

so with homebrew launcher you mean the gallery app that leads you to the homebrew right? and can i log into my nintendo account from my non hacked switch into the hacked syscfw without getting banned or do  ihave to log into stock sys and then change to syscfw? and can i safely transfer save data from syscfw or do i have to always switch or stock sys?

Well you can link it to any other app, not just gallery/album.

Yeah. I use homebrew launch -> JKSV. and FTP to transfer saves.
And then use official local save transfer method to transfer saves between switches.
All done on Sysnand + CFW. I don't have Emunand on my regular setup.

In any case, even if you're confident that you've done nothing wrong on your Sysnand, all at your own risk.

Hey, am back again, just to tell you that everything worked perfectly.

Here is what i did for other people to not ask again and have a faster idea what they can do:

-> I transferred my save data of PKMN scarlet from my non hacked switch to my sys stock on my hacked switch.

-> Then I booted into syscfw and used jksv to make save data/back up.

-> Afterwards I connected my hacked switch with my pc.

-> The next step to was copy the whole folder of my save file to another location as a backup.

-> Then I copied it again and edited that copy in pkhex. After that, I exported the edited file to the 2nd copy of main and replaced it. The replaced copy then was added into the save folder on my SD card of my hacked switch.

-> I booted into syscfw restored the save file via jksv and then booted into stock sys.

-> I used the regular data transfer method to get my edited save file from a hacked to a non hacked switch: press + on the games icon (both consoles):

-> select data management and transfered the edited save file from stock sys (hacked console) to my non hacked one.

-> i tested the game and went online with my non hacked switch. I joined a random raid and everything works fine. my edits also came through.

if anything happens in the future i will share with you

So I'm curious about this. I've been wanting to do this too but wasn't sure how. Did you by chance have any emulators on your hacked switch when you did this? I have RetroArch on my hacked switch and a Gameboy emulator. But those aren't installed directly to my home screen. I was curious if you had anything like that on yours when you did the data transfer. If not then I probably shouldn't risk this but I am curious overall.

Homebrew emulators (those who needs to be run through the homebrew launcher, not those that needs installation in the home screen), are generally considered safe to be used even when the console is connected online. We don't have ban reports for using those in SysNand. As always, we don't take any responsability if anything happens.

That's good to know.  Thank you. I completely understand the risks. I know that if anything happens it's on me

Hey, as already mentioned it doesnt ban u if u have an emulator or even game roms on your emunand. just make sure u have the files to block nintendo servers on emunand. Today i transferred another save file with the same method i already used: as of today nothing changed, everything works fine.

That's awesome. Thank you. I appreciate the replies. I'll definitely try it myself soon enough.

Hey, does this guide still work?  I want to try and do this, but I don’t know what could get my non-hacked Switch banned and what couldn’t.  (I’m planning on just completing the Pokédex, get all clothing, and just get max items.)

Plus, doesn’t the official local save transfer talk to Nintendo’s servers in some way?  So wouldn’t Nintendo’s servers detect that I modified my save when transferring back to my non-hacked Switch?

So on my stock switch I have all my save data, I want to transfer all of my save data to my emunand so I can like do mods and stuff with my progress. However, how do I do that and if I do it, will I get banned because everything I did on my save data will be on my stock switch. (one of my mods is SMO online and like super star mode and maybe some smash bros stuff)

We can’t guarantee you won’t get banned. However there have been ton of people, who include YouTubers who literally play with mods with friends online as content, so keep that information in mind. All at your own risk of course.

I’ll say temporarily remove all mods when you go online to transfer the saves. You can always reinstall the mods after.

Ok so I should remove all mods first, then transfer my save data from my sysnand (ofw) to my emunand with like jksv, then reinstall the mods? (Note, I have servers blocked on emunand but not sysMMC (cfw).

I’m sorry, but the way you described makes it unclear if it’s one device or two devices.

but yeah, you could use device A’s Sysnand (which is hacked) to transfer the save legitimately to device B (unhacked). You should be able to figure out how to move the save around in Sysnand and Emunand on device A. Just make sure you keep backups (saves, mods, nands, etc) before you do any moving of anything.
