LGPE - PokeBall Plus Mew

When ajxpk meant is that for those games, the wonder card apparently isn't stored on the save.
If the users DIRECTLY/IMMEDIATELY receives the gift upon redemption, there is no reason to save the wonder card on the save.
Thus, you can't inject what which does not exist.

Here is the PB7:

151 - Mew - 9872CB42B168.pb7

Ahh gotcha!! Sorry!

It appears it is one Mew per Pokeball Plus, I received the Mew on Lets Go Pikachu, then started a game on Lets Go Eevee, delivered Oak's parcel to unlock the functionality to communicate with the Pokeball Plus, however was told "This Pokeball Plus doesn't contain any Pokemon presents."

I then went back to Lets Go Pikachu on and put Mew on the Pokeball Plus to go for a walk, then tried again to receive him on Lets Go Eevee, however was told the Pokeball Plus doesn't contain any presents.

You also can't return a Pokemon from a walk on a different game, otherwise you get told someone else Pokemon is on the ball and the results from the walk will be deleted.

Screenshots below of when i received my Mew:

This appears when the Pokeball Plus is connected for the first time:

If nothing else screenshots to preserve as much as this unique event as possible. It's going to be a rare thing getting an event Pokemon on a unique piece of hardware like this.

I wonder how many greedy scalpers are going to grab up a ton of Pokeball Plus, then sell them for twice/x-times the price once they are no longer offered for sale with Mews inside.

I have no idea how this hardware works. But the point I wanted to get at, is that I wonder if there's a way to wirelessly communicate(similar to wc7full RAM dumps) and extract the data from an unused PBP, and re-inject the data at any given point. Therefore preserving the original event the way it was intended.

As described by SciresM, the Pokeball plus is akin to an auto serial code, so when the user uses, they simply need to connect to the internet, and the redemption is validated.

The wonder card is probably in the RAM, just not stored in the save itself :/

@Deoxyz I can see this happening and that's what sucks about this.

Even if you inject it into memory while playing it won't work. This is like in Gen 3 with the Mystery Event script that runs from memory automatically when you received an Event. We're doomed as far as preserving these Mystery Gifts goes and I wouldn't even be surprised if that's the future of Mystery Gifts.

Well there goes my theory, didn't realize it was like serial codes and needed internet verification... Scalpers are definitely going to jump on this, unless there's an expiration date.

Wow, that's really sad... A future where we can't preserve full mystery gifts? Back to Gen I and II preservation methods I guess, just the .pkm. So ideally we'd want get many preserved so it's not just the same handful of clones being spread around...

So if I understand, even if it is theoretically possible to grab the wondercard data from RAM, it'd ultimately be useless? Personally, I'd still preserve them if possible. I guess there's no way to spoof the server, but maybe some custom method to generate pokemon with the wondercards will be developed in the future. All considering if sufficient data can be preserved, I'm just saying this from a viewpoint of not knowing how events work in these games.

Well for starters someone could find out how to access their servers.
Another way would be RAM dumps. The wonder cards are definitely in the RAM, so checking there helps.

Ultimately, I'll expect that RAM dumping and hacking their Switch is too much of a hassle for most people,
so we'll have to live off traded .PB7 files.

Well, we could use PKHeX to generate the PB7 based on the wonder card.
It already has that existing function for previous games (drag the wonder card into the left tab, and it generates the file as a PK.)

I need mew since pokeball plus got me one with wrong nature!

The PB7 is uploaded here.
Use PKHeX to modify it's nature/stats whatever.

As explained, you can't inject wonder cards.

How do I use that file

Like how you use PK7 files, drag and drop into your Save file using PKHeX.
This isn't a technical thread for "how-to"s. If you got any more questions, open a new thread in a relevant sub-forums and ask there.

You could also just change the nature on the mew you already have with pkhex.

Ahh, looks like you can't control the nature for Mew. (and probably all mystery gifts) That's extremely disappointing, especially since it's one mew per ball. (Because I absolutely would keep resetting my file until I got Timid mew lol)

This is going to be really annoying for any future events that you might actually want a decent nature on for competitive reasons. Bottlecaps are great, but random natures....Man.  I hope most of the events get nature locked because this is terrible if you don't edit.

Yeah I am not sure there is a way to SR. Hopefully they come up with a better way.  I hope the next game as all of the features of a full Pokemon game.

Why am I not surprised that people are actually defending Mew being locked behind a $50 paywall. 9_9

That you can obtain it as "just a nice bonus" from the Pokéball controller is one thing, it would be just that, a nice bonus, but specifically preventing you from transferring Mew over from GO just proves that Nintendo's intent is on money grabbing, not offering nice bonuses.

why am I surprised that people are salty that it's "locked behind paywall".

The enforcement is locked by Pokemon Go/Niantic:
You can't trade or transfer Mythical Pokemon, as they only get one per account, and won't get extras (excluding Meltan)
[I forgot about Deoxys. But they didn't remove the Trade ban on Deoxys, so my point at least partially stands,
that they block Mythical trades]

If people could get MORE than one Mew, and they continue to enforce that, then I'll wholeheartedly agree with you.

But for now, the transfer-lock is done by Niantic, not GF.

It's really only a "paywall" if you're getting the pokeball exclusively for Mew.  It's intended to replace the "Go Plus" peripheral, which costs around $20 USD.

In my opinion, it's worth the extra $30 from the Go Plus because of the LGPE in-game bonuses that you will get from using it with Pokemon Go. The fact your pokemon will spin pokemon stops for you automatically is incredibly lucrative to me, especially because having to push the button on the peripheral or look down at my phone may be considered rude depending on what I'm doing while I'm out. It also doubles as a controller for the game, which I do find nice. (And controllers for the switch vary from $25 for the classic controller to like $75 for joycons or the Smash Brother controller)

As for the "paywall" price, it's really not that bad compared to some other ones. I know I'm jaded since I've been playing for 20 years, but wish I could've gotten Mew for $50 back in 1998. As far as I remember, you needed to win a giveaway to obtain one. It was gameshark (which was probably around $30) or bust since the Mew glitch wasn't going to be discovered for another 5 years. But for real paywalls... Some serial codes go for over $100 on eBay even on the day they were going to expire. (am I still salty I didn't get to buy this code because of the price? Probably)  Any real life events (which is pretty much exclusively how Japan gives out it's mythical pokemon per gen. Gotta go to the movies to get Zeraora) will cost you something to attend. It could be next to nothing if it's local, or it could cost several thousand dollars because of airfare + lodging.

For this Mew, my issue is more that it only once, rather than once per profile. If you buy both games, it's probably not worth getting a second one unless someone else in your household plays Pokemon Go. I imagine this will end up being an item scalpers will pick up if there is no end date distribution, as only unused ones will contain the Mew still. (See: Pokemon Ranger which the cheapest new English copy costing $150 USD on eBay. This is the only way to get a manaphy with your OT, and if the manaphy egg was claimed from the game already, no way to get a second one. You need to use external tools to erase the save so you can obtain another one if you purchase it used.)

It's presently not announced when they intend to stop the distribution, but they said they will at some point.
