X11
Info

I installed X11 and that didn't help, now i'm trying to use Wine Devel to run the .exe file but i need .net framework and i dont know how to port that over to mac using Wine Devel. I really appreciate all the help but if I become too bothersome don't worry about it

Did you run the pkhex.app or the pkhex.exe after you installed X11?

You should use the pkhex.app after X11.

Dont bother using winestaging/wine devel  to run the .exe

I ran the .app version

It asked for permission to run and open, after which is verified and then the icon just disappears from the dock and after I try to run it pops up on the dock for a half second and then disappears.

I cannot watch your screencast - "We're sorry! We were unable to locate the requested page." is what the link says.

Go here download and install.

grab the latest pkhex.exe from here

Extract the .zip

right click the pkhex.exe. select open with

Tick  Convert to simple OS X Application bundle with WineBottler.

Which will open this window.  589ba9b58cc39_ScreenShot2017-02-08at6_21_33PM.thumb.png.524fe63f9844a7a5bf959a3867ad8987.png

You need to click [select file...] and target the pkhex.exe you downloaded.

Copy everything else that i have ticked and then click [Install]

Next a dialogue will pop up. Give the app a name and click ok.

Lastly, just wait for a few while it wraps.

So I downloaded the latest version, and opened it the usual way,but all it does is bounce in the dock for a few minutes, then stop responding. Tried it 10 times now with no success

i saw that you had posted previously that you had Wine running and that caused the pkhex.app to not work for you. Could that be the same in this case?

Try restart your Mac. Then try to run it.  If that doesn't work rewrap in winebottler but this time tick the "self-contained" box in addition to the other settings shown in the screenshot.

I rewrap in wine bottler and tick self-contained and also restart Mac, but it still bounced and disappear.

A few more suggestions...

close wine if it's running, and run your wrapped app again...

skip winebottler, and run the .exe directly in wine...

Or you could try the app I wrapped. The link is in the first post.

I have also followed this order and tried all the troubleshooting and it still does not work. I've tried to create my own with a .exe file and winebottler doesn't create the app, and if it does then it the app pops up for a few seconds and disappears. I'm a noob at using wine and winebottler but I'm following the instructions perfectly. Any more help?

You could open the exe in wine.

Open wine.

And then....

then...

IMG_0114.PNG.d97af1eb0b22efabb30181a1b28c5694.PNG

then...

IMG_0115.PNG.5f89ff988c22ffb4cf36c7390abf4863.PNG

finally, right click the exe - Open with... -wine.

Dialogue will ask "what would you like to do with it". You tick "run directly in" and from the drop down menu select this path: /Users/USERNAME/.wine

or this path if you have it: /Users/USERNAME/Wine Files
