Seriously, this demo really loves me.

I traded three of them over to Japanese Blue since Hoothoot can't be traded over. I did some testing and Pokemon that are shiny in the demo RETAIN their shininess when traded back. Just don't trade it to a retail Gold and Silver since the shiny odds changed.

Here's the demo shinies I traded over to Japanese Blue. The Caterpie isn't the same one from earlier, I just so happened to run into another shiny one.

010 - キャタピー - 913D.pk1

011 - トランセル - 5BE3.pk1

023 - アーボ - F85C.pk1

Try using the time capsule and Johto Guard Glitch between Spaceworld and JP Gold/Crystal  to get gen2 mons dumped...

are those NPCs active? As far as I can tell, none of the NPCs outside of the Silent Hills communicate with players..

The Pokemon Center in the next town, "Old" town, has a working battle and trade area with functional NPCs for the features. I used the Time Capsule there to trade with a Japanese Blue for exporting, although I heard if you communicate with the final Japanese GSC it errors out.

@SwagKey got JP Blue to trade with 1997 Gold, so maybe the time capsule  could make gen2 treat beta as gen1, and using the guard glitch to trade any demomon with gen1 moves in, normalizing it as a gen2 pokemon... @theSLAYER

Yeah, that's not going to work. The demo has completely different internal IDs for Pokemon, so if you trade something past Meganium's ID it will become something completely different. This is why I'm playing it safe and only exporting Gen 1 mons from the demo, they're the safest and are globally compatible with the first two generations.

The only way we could ever use these demomon pk2 files properly is if PKHeX adds support for these demos...which I heard won't be coming any time soon because Kaphotics says they are way too different from the final.

I won't sorry, but I'll surely be in Japan Expo in Paris a month later. Maybe they'll show it too there?

To all people interested by the GS demo Mobile Trainer ROM has a beta Tyranitar picture inside.

And also @StarsMmd is working very hard on Colosseum, cut trainers was a dead end but there is still the 21st card to resolve.

Really? That's kinda weird to think about.

how there's an image of it, yet it isn't in the dex.

ya mind uploading/sourcing the image?

Also @StarsMmd found the 21st card data but we're unable to read it for now, is there any e-reader specialist here?

This line of yours confused me.

Mobile Trainer is actually a separate cart, unrelated to GS or the GS Demo.

Granted, they could have done initial testings with GS in mind (hence the old sprites), but it isn't something found in the GS demo per se.

Sorry to confused you.

Mobile trainer was developped in 1998 a year later after GS demo and it looks like there were changes in some designs inside.

Problem is:
1. That particular bulbapedia statement has no sourcing
2. I'm having difficulties finding any of such mentioned "unused sprites"
(TCRF has a page for the Mobile Trainer, but no such sprites, Glitchcity has a new page searching for the aforementioned unused sprites, but hasn't found them so far)
3. Googling GB Mobile Trainer Tyranitar gives me a bunch of Pokemon Go hits ><

I would certainly like to find these unused sprites, and see any matches the GS demo :D

There can be a number 4 some datas were downloaded only like GS ball/Odd Egg but the source says it is in the ROM so I hope they are

Found more "demo shinies" in my free time.

For some reason a few of my caught Pokemon got corrupted nicknames, including the Rattata above. I just unchecked the nickname value in PKHeX before extracting.

016 - ポッポ - 63E0.pk1

019 - コラッタ - 2A56.pk1

I encountered that problem too when I caught more than 10 Pokemon.

It's a corruption of nicknames in the PC due to technical limitations (the one they mentionned in USUM).

Note that you can transfer you Girafarig datas as I did for other Pokemon I uploaded here but I'll surely not remain shiny.

Also if you have time maybe you can help me to find how to catch trainers Pokemon we need the RAM offset location of battle.

Finally got them, that was hard because of custom moveset, bug in the attacks (which I think occurs with wild Pokemon too) ...

RAM adress CE00

Next quest: Force-load the 21st card. Off topic: anyone has a legal shiny Oranguru to trade me?

Edit: Forgot the Slowking ^^

199 - ヤドキング - 4A7B.pk2

Even if I could extract it, it would be completely useless unless we can inject into the demo's save file and load it. Different internal IDs means it's incompatible with the final GSC.

I know these Pokemon won't remain shiny if traded to the final version, which is why I'm calling them "demo shinies" to differentiate them for the final. Consequently, this can make some traded Pokemon from Gen 1 "demo shiny" but not "final" shiny in the retail games.
