It seems like Smealum might take a while to finish TDVS, as he said on his Twitter that he's been very busy lately. Could someone else please, by any chance, try to develop a Homebrew app to dump/inject save data from X/Y/OR/AS sooner than TDVS's eventual release? I've been getting super hyped about using PKHeX again, and I'm losing my patience. If someone can please make an alternative, then I thank you in advance. If not, then I guess I'll try to be more patient. Thanks for any consideration.

He has tweeted that PKHex works with TDVS, and I saw that he has it on his SD card, in his Tubehax/Ironhax tutorial video.

Yeah, I know that. But he hasn't released it yet. I'm just wondering if he'll be able to release it any time soon, or if someone else would be able to make an alternative before he releases TDVS.

From this tweet we can tell that he's been busy with his day job.. so that's probably what's holding him up.

Hopefully he'll be done before youtube is patched or forcing us to update or else not being able to connect to the net until I get another 3DS :o

Considering Youtube/Google really has nothing to lose from 3DS Homebrew, we can assume that Youtube will not patch this exploit. Still, I guess we also have to assume that it's not a 100% guarantee.

So, while TDVS (that should be better) isn't released yet, a new homebrew for backup/restoring saves appear: http://gbatemp.net/threads/transfering-sky3ds-save-to-legit-game.396162/#post-5643932

You should be able to transfer the save using save_manager if you can run tubehax or the other hax's. Just backup the Sky3ds then restore to the eshop version. I assume it would be best to already have a save on the eShop to overwrite instead of just trying to create it from scratch.

The homebrew, all credit goes to profi200 on IRC I was just at the right place at the right time to see the release.

I tested this app with Pokémon Omega Ruby so far: managed to backup, edit through PKHeX, and restore my save without problems. Didn't tested with XY yet.

Nice, but does this new homebrew require us to have something else like Sky3DS, un-updated 3DS, or Gateway? (which I neither have sadly)

Actually, just the Homebrew Channel - and for that, you only need to download the Youtube app from the eShop. You can follow this guide to setup, it's very simple. http://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-the-homebrew-launcher-and-custom-themes-all-in-one-noobs-guide.395652/

Ah yeah, already have YouTube, and already have Tubehax :)

Another question though, as I'm recently addicted to Rumble World... there's this Rumble World editor made by SciresM (same one who did RAM2Sav IIRC): http://gbatemp.net/threads/pokemon-rumble-world-diamonds-p-tool.386526/

As I read further, it says I require Gateway to edit my rumble world save (prior to the save manager's release). Question is, can I use this Save Manager to use that Rumble World editor & edit my save?

And yeah, the old instructions are here (which says I require SaveDataFiller?)...

Hmm, I'm not sure about Rumble World, since I don't play this game :/ Didn't tested yet... but seems plausible, about this method.

I can say, this save method works with this Python script for Pokémon Shuffle ( http://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-savedatafiler-pok%C3%A9mon-shuffle-free-diamonds-and-coins-golds.393568/ ) : 150 jewels, max coins, 99 Mega Speedups... just apply the script at your save, then restore the changed save through this new homebrew.

OK I'm about to get my game & its SD card to start putting that save manager to my homebrew. How will I do that? Just paste the "save_manager" folder & its contents inside the "3DS" folder?

EDIT: Also about that Shuffle post, it says SaveDataFiller too. What's SaveDataFiller? I thought I'll only use that in conjunction with Gateway? Or is that the old version of this new save manger?

Yes, exactly that. After booting TubeHax, you can access the Save Manager, then choose the game (pressing left and right) to backup/restore saves.

About SaveDataFiler, let's say it's exactly what you said. The difference is, this new save manager acts just like the SaveDataFiler, but for users without Gateway, custom 3DS firmware, and such. It's more for TubeHax/IronHax users.

Thanks for the answers :)

BTW, for games like Shuffle or Rumble World, there's that instruction for us to delete the "secure value" or whatever it is, before reloading the save, so it will not get corrupted. But how will I delete the secure value using save manager? :o

Hmm... about Shuffle, I didn't deleted anything and the patch worked fine... just the Jewels were overload at the first moment (more than 1000 of it!), but after using one single Jewel, the amount dropped into the valid limit of 150. Not sure about that "secure value", though :/

Yeah I was asking what that secure value thing is, because from both the Rumble World & Shuffle Threads, before Save Manager is out, it always says to delete it to prevent corruption: http://gbatemp.net/threads/pokemon-rumble-world-diamonds-p-tool.386526/ & http://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-savedatafiler-pok%C3%A9mon-shuffle-free-diamonds-and-coins-golds.393568/

ok tested it on x and it does work will tdvs be any better

I honestly don't know what exactly TDVS does, so as far as I can currently tell there will be no difference. On the GBATemp forum it says use this until TDVS releases the swap so we'll just have to wait and see.
