tool pk3DS: 3DS ROM Editor & Randomizer

I have some problems trying to randomize my Pickup Items and Tms for Ultra Moon. I randomized everything using the newest pk3ds and even double checked if it all was randomized. I then rebuild it as a .cia using 3DSBuilderMod. But after playing for a little did i realize that everything besides these two were randomized, aka Trainers, Starters, Wild encounters were random just not the Pickup Items and Tms. Does anyone know why and perhaps even has a way to fix it?

Seems to be a common issue from what i've read up. I have the same issue and sadly no idea how to fix it :/

It's been asked repeatedly and answered repeatedly. Remove any installed game patches and ensure the modified exefs file is being loaded by the console. The game doesn't magically revert your changes, it loads whatever data you give it.

Yea, i scrolled up a bit and realized it's been asked a lot of times. Also, i think i have made kind of a mistake, i intepreted "Pickup Items" (in pk3ds) as overworld items you can pick up, but judging by the layout it's about the ability "Pickup", thus not changing anything about the Overworld items. And then going by what i read, Overworld item manip would change something with scrips, which isn't really doable, so i assume it's impossible at this time to randomize the items you pick up in the overworld with pk3ds?

And sorry for not looking all that up before replying, would've been a better move.

Hello I have a couple of questions:

-Previous to editing the ROM with Pk3ds, I edited my game with pkhax (hacking some mons abilities and stats - but only for offline for fun). Now I edited the rom with Pk3ds in order to modifiy some base stats and some typings. When I load the edited ROM, will the savegame edited with Pkhax maintain all the edits I made (f.e. the ability hack)?

-Once I edit the rom with pk3ds, will be able in the future to use pkhax to edit some things I may forget and load the save as usual with checkpoint?

-I'm currently editing trainers' teams. What is the checkbox "flag"? Is this for a rematch? Can I enable rematches for f.e., Hala, which only battles you once after the elite 4 or dexio, nanu or mina?

-Can I modify the trainers in battle tree so they can have 6 pokemon and gain exp points from them?

Thank you very much!!

There are several tutorials online. To edit a ROM, you need to extract the files first. As far as i am concerned, there are several tools online that help you with that. After you extracted the ROM, you will have all the files in a folder, chose that folder with PK3DS and you can make edits as you wish. After that, you just need to rebuild the .3ds as file if you want to use it.

When I try to open Pokemon alpha sapphire the game doesn't load and I am stuck on the 3ds loading screen. I have game patching enabled through Luma 3ds can someone help please.

Luma3DS game patching sometimes conflict with installed game update. Uninstall the game update via 3DS settings. That's the only one I can think of presently.

So i have tried to use pk3ds to randomize a Pokemon alpha sapphire rom that i extracted using the pokemon Pack Hack. But whenever i try and use pk3ds to find the folder it will not open any file location of any folder ive ever tried. Video below

Please help :(

its like 2 seconds in my task manager and gone afterwards, someone a solution pls :D

Whenever I try to randomize my gen 6 game. All I get is this error whenever I try to open ExeFS.

Edit: The first part is in swedish but you should still be able to read the error code I think

Hi. Is it possible to battle Mother Beast Lusamine in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon using pk3DS? She is listed as "Aether president - 82" for the trainer class in the original SM games and the option is also available in USUM despite the trainer class number never being used (which is why im asking, idk if choosing that trainer class would crash the game or not)

Hello! Whenever I try to edit certain trainers in the trainers editor in Pokemon X, I get this message. I donn't exactly know what it means, but I know it is not normal. i barely made any changes, and tried to edit a battle chateau trainer, but it throws this exception every time I click certain trainers.

 

Also, note that the trainers seem to lose their edited pokemon and get overwritten by the previously clicked trainer's pokemon when this happens.

 

It seems to be exclusive to those trainers only.

 

EDIT: I carefully and correctly followed the instructions as well as the extracting and unpacking instructions. This is by no way a means of a user or instruction error.

 

I decrypted the .3ds file using BATCH Cia 3ds Decryptor. I extracted the files using HackingToolkit3ds V9. I renamed code.bin to .code.bin.

 

Please check this, I'm pretty sure this is not a typical Index Error or bad dump error.

Hello! I managed to find a workaround for my problem: Simply exit the program and reenter. You must abort the program when this happens, else, the pokemon will be overwritten.

 

Now, I'm having a different issue,

 

I am playing the game with the modified trainers. But when a trainer summons pokemon in a double or triple battle, the trainer tends to attack their own pokemon, and any moves that have been specified for the pokemon through this tool (Using the "Moves" tab and going to each pokemon's moves) is not applied to the actual game.

 

When can i see a fix for these two issues?

I keep getting ucrtbased.dll and vcruntime140.dll missing errors eventually when I try to rebuild the CIA. Any attempts of installing Visual C++ Redistributable für Visual Studio 2015 errors in a popup telling me that I have a newer version. I also manually swapped out the vcruntime140D.dll in system32 and dropped it into my hacktool folder. The issue persists. Any idea or solution on how to fix this would be appreciated!

Installed it, still returns the same error while the highest installed microsoft visual c++ redistributable remains to be 2017
 

E: solved it by using a .3ds dump instead of CIA

But when a trainer summons pokemon in a double or triple battle, the trainer tends to attack their own pokemon, and any moves that have been specified for the pokemon through this tool (Using the "Moves" tab and going to each pokemon's moves) is not applied to the actual game.

 

When can i see a fix for these two issues?

to avoid the pokemons attacking each other, you have to go to the trainer editor and change the mode to Double and the check bx where it says Al Val: to the letter D( I came up to this beause if you see the values of trainers that were designed for double battles it says D) . this stops the pokemon from attaking their own team. Ive tested this on pokemon ultra  moon and it works.

my game is pokemon Ultra moon and im trying to edit the static encounters.

for exmple, i was editing tapu koko to be able to SOS call the other tapus. To do this I would have to change the values of SOS calls to 130 and 131.

Im aware legendary pokemon ultra beasts etc cant sos call, but i went to the personal editor, and under enhancements I modified the check box for SOS call success rate to 100% for all pokemon so any pokemon should always sos call. Yet this isnt happening.

what can i do to force  legendary pokemons etc to sos call? maybe there is a variable that serves as an identifier to specify wether its legendary or not? if so, how could I edit it?

So i was wondering what it means when i go to edit the IVs of trainers pokemon but instead of the traditional 31 in a stat thingy it gives me a slider that goes from 1 to 255. 
If it is purposefully done so then i'd just like to know how to actually use this function and/or what it actually does.

Was wondering if any one could help me out here. Already did testing on my own to get to this point but for the life of me, and my hopes that there is a button to make all initial pokemon able to "Call for help" or another program that does this for me. Other than going through each patch of grass and hand editing them. (view picture below)
