Create Your Own Pokemon

So people, have you ever wanted to create your own Pokemon? Yeah, lame and all, I know.

So I got a PM from Pokemonfan saying in a nutshell "hey, we should create something like Smogon's Create-A-Pokemon". Eh... no, not Smogony, but why not create our own Pokemon just for fun? So the rules are simple... we create a Pokemon, and then once a Pokemon's been created, members will give feedback to the Pokemon regarding its balance and personal opinions and whatnot.

Idea of this thread is accredited to pokemonfan.

So what is the format?

Pokemon Classification

Gender Distribution

Held item (if any)

I see. Hey spark, do you have any commentaries on that Pokemon I made? I've ALWAYS wanted something with auto-haze, but to offset its usage, I'd have to make its stats fairly low.

I think its stats can be lowered some more. Its main use is basically the auto-haze, right? It also looks like it learns too many moves naturally, and there are quite a few levels where it learns two or more moves at once.

Nitpicky stuff:

The level-up movepool usually has some sort of pattern to it. Some TMs and tutor moves should probably be dropped, like Earthquake and Dive.

I'm probably missing some more important stuff, so I'll come back to this later.

Yes, the stats should be lowered. BST of 500 is WAY too big. I've already noticed that but forgot to fix it.

And Dive, I can surely drop, but Earthquake is somewhat logical...

BTW the two or more moves at one level was intentional.

Good link sparkdreamer...

Also...I think you forgot just one thing wraith...egg groups...please add egg groups as well to your post.

-michu: extremely speedy and is known to be one of the fastest land animals. It uses its great speed to out maneuver its opponents.

-Maichu: With great psychic power it can communicate telepathically and sense movements of people with the aura. When its home is threatened by construction it has been known to lift whole buildings, people, and construction vehicles into the air.

-mikomo: it is slow and defensive but it strikes with great physical power. It has been known to crush bones with a body slam.

your pokemon kind of sounds like an awesome castform I kind of want one of those :P of course mine sounds like pikachu and lucario except without pikachu's evilness.

Edit:

Added base stats

Also I think instead of just including the evos and pre-evos slighter things I'll just make a whole new one for michu, maichu, and mikomo

Edit:

All the things should be there now...still have yet to add the pre evo's complete data along with various evos

From what I can tell, Stormbus has a very diverse movepool and the ability to take advantage of any weather. I'm pretty sure that was the intention, but firing off Hydro Pump, Thunder, Shadow Ball, Energy Ball, Dark Pulse, etc. under the rain with a decent Special Attack AND removing the opposition's stat-ups seems too good.

Earthquake is okay, I guess, because it's Attack isn't so great.

I know it was intentional, but there are too many :P

I modified the base stats. Now there's a reason why NOT to use Stormbus :P

I already added Egg groups...

oops missed that...hehe..anyways that means I have to add that to mikachu!

Doesn't cirrain learn haze seem redundant and unnecessary?

Also air cutter like twice and ominous wind twice as well?

I can see that this pokemon might make a good lead for the element users being that it can know all the weather moves...plus light screen, reflect, and explosion. So if it held like a damp rock or something and went in as a rain lead then tried to set up reflect/screen if foe wasn't to much of a threat it could work like that.

Or a counter for all those stat boosters. Perhaps negate the ninjask baton passers. Or lucario with swords dance. I dont really know but I bet lots of pokemon depend on stat boosters. Just to remember a certain warstory it could stop the calm minder cresselia.

Tyranitar has Sand Stream but that doesn't stop it from learning Sandstorm naturally. And it isn't really unnecessary. While it isn't worth a moveslot, it can stop someone from setting up again, hence being very annoying. But of course, phazers do their job for the most part...

Some Pokemon have that kind of situations. It's not uncommon, really.

It's a great response to anything that you let set up... but if they set up again, it's no fun.

It is yet an interesting pokemon..I added the base stats to mikachu so is there any comment now towards her? The reason its 100% female is that there is a male counterpart species. I have my own little pokemon world...

Edit:

@at sparksdreamer

or an element lead being that it learns all 4 element moves and explosion plus the barriers.

Stormbus could use Choice Specs or it could use Rain Dance and Hydro Pump and Thunder for sweeping related fun. 71 Base speed isn't too bad.

Obviously it's not going to be able to sweep 6-0, but for taking down set-up sweeper, it would be useful.

@Pokemonfan

You should have the base stats for all the Pokemon in the evolutionary line and the moves learned at each level for each one. Also, you should try to space the moves more evenly (five moves in six levels at the end isn't normal)

Phazers (Pseudo-hazers): Stuff that use Roar/Whirlwind to force opponents to flee.

Wrong word PF. I think you mean things that set up :-/

Yeah I knew I would do something like that but of course...I didn't know how or when or...oh well me and my competitive battling skills. I really need to look at smogon's dictionary.

Anyways I added all the moves to mikachu so is there any comment now?

Also why is its best stat HP?

Edit:

@sparkdreamer...

it doesn't have to be normal..uniqueness FTW

I know for all pokemon in the evo line I was just thinking about making separate ones for each member. I guess I should go add the stats for all of them. *goes to edit post*

Added Agility as one of its moves. Would that be too imbalanced? It can already Calm Mind btw.

Best stat is HP because it's a big puffy cloud (like Wailord, a big floaty whale). It seems to fit... I made it base 100 before, but I decided that'd be too much, unless that's fine in your opinion...

High HP but low defenses tend to be their stat distribution...

@ PF: you have WAYYYY too many moves. Not even Lucario has THAT much of a movepool. I'd get rid of stuff like Ice Beam and Overheat and stuff like that. There is NO way that thing learns ALL of that. Roost? It's not even a bird!!

Also base stats look way too strong o_O

There's something called balance...

...that your madeup Pokemon is lacking, Wraith :P

I don't think Agility or even Calm Mind is a good idea because Stormbus isn't made to be a sweeper.

Remember that an auto-haze ability is pretty game-breaking, since your opponent has no way to stop you from switching Stormbus in.

@ Pokemonfan:

Nice copy and paste of the TM list :P Glad to see that it can't learn HMs.

Calm Mind is okay actually. I can see it running it. But Agility is the big factor. Auto-haze is a REALLY big game-breaking ability, but I was hoping that low stat would offset it all. Priority moves destroy it :x

Agility isn't a good idea I guess -__-

Then suggest something X_X

That's exactly what I did...now that I think about it I better go delete some of those TMs/HMs...I didn't really want to do those so I just copied and pasted a list. I added base stats for all evos and pre-evo.

For your info I love an over powered aura mouse.

OP means it would get banned straight into ubers... want that? o_O

If a Pokemon wants to be playable, it wants to be balanced.

Unless you were creating an uber Pokemon of course, but that in no way can be uber. It evolves and all and doesn't seem to have a legendary folklore X_X

Hmm...several suggestions:

1) Decrease its movepool.

2) Give a harmful side effect to the ability.

3) Lower the stats even more.

4) Lollipops?

5) Make it so only the pre-evolution has White Mist.

@Pokemonfan:

Good idea. I'm pretty sure we all have overpowered rodents, but balance is better, right? :D

Garchomp and Wobbuffet.

So then if it cant be a uber then what in the world is you point? By balanced what exactly are you suggesting? I mean I compared maichu's special attack stat with that of mewtwo's. That was a wrong move wasn't it.

Any stat suggestions?

Edit:

I just realized when I copied and pasted the TMs I thought HMs were in it too..now it can learn HMs and less TMs.
