B/W2 Back Sprite Custom Edit

Hello, sorry if I posted in the wrong place. I've searched countless threads for help but to no avail.

I've been currently editing a back sprite, based off the Hero's(F) back sprite. I've had only one trouble so far.. when I put it (my custom back sprite) back into the ROM I get this (@attachments)

I'm using GIMP, I've tried giving it transparent background, adding a transparent layer to the alpha, and to the background. but none of this changed the problem. if it helps any the animations all work, its just the color won't go away.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

transparant color on nds (pallete file nclr) is always on #0, so you must used background color with pallete #0
