As the title says, I am making an RMT about my sandstorm team, that i am soon to obtain. If you play competitively, you will see that weather teams are very popular in today's meta game. Which is why I decided to make this team.

THE SAND CASTLE

THE TEAM:

tyranitar.png

The Lead:

Tyranitar @ Leftovers

Ability: Sandstream

Nature: Sassy

EVs: 252 HP/160 Sp.Atk/96 Sp.Def

~Stealth Rock

~Pursuit

~Ice Beam

~Fire Blast

This set is good for getting rid of Drought Ninetails and Drizzle Politoed. Tyranitar is slower than both of these pesky Pokemon so at the beginning of the battle when he is your lead then Sandstorm is set up, not Sun or Rain, so the other pokemon might be scared out and when they do then you Pursuit them, which in some case can KO them both. This pokemon can set up stealth rocks.

Water Weakness: Jellicent Ferrothorn

Grass Weakness: Ferrothorn

Fighting Weakness: Jellicent Gliscor

Ground Weakness: Gliscor

Bug Weakness: Gliscor Excadrill Jellethorn

Steel Weakness: Gliscor Excadrill Ferrothorn Jellicent

Stallin'

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb

Ability: Poison Heal

Nature: Jolly

EVs: 252 HP/80 Atk/176 Spd

~Protect

~Fling

~Earthquake

~Acrobatics

Gliscor is a great staller because he can activate Toxic Orb, get healed, use protect and stall. Earthquake is great for a STAB move

Water Weakness: Jellicent Ferrothorn

Ice Weakness: Jellicent Ferrothorn Tyranitar

excadrill.png

Sweeper #1:

Excadrill @ Air Baloon

Ability: Sand Rush

Nature: Jolly

EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd

~Swords Dance

~X-Scissor

~Rock Slide

~Earthquake

Who doesn't love this epic mole! This set is basic except for Jolly which is to outspeed other Excadrill. With sandstorm on the field, this thing is faster than a lot of pokes.

Fire Weakness: Jellicent Tyranitar

Water Weakness: Jellicent Ferrothorn

Fighting Weakness: Jellicent Gliscor

Ground Weakness: Gliscor

Stoutland.png

Sweeper #2

Stoutland @ Choice Band

Ability: Sand Rush

Nature: Adamant

EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd

~Fire Fang

~Crunch

~Wild Bolt

~Return

This ugly little puppy has a good perk. Sand Rush. Just like its pal excadrill, this thing is incredibly fast in sand. With very strong moves, he is very capable of a sweep.

Fighting Weakness: Jellicent Gliscor

Nattorei.png

Wall #1

Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet

Ability: Iron Barbs

Nature: Relaxed

EVs: 252 HP/48 Def/208 Sp.Def

~Thunder Wave

~Spikes

~Leech Seed

~Gyro Ball

The thorny pokemon of doom. This thing deals MASSIVE damage, and is a great physical wall. It covers some type weaknesses. And because it is a steel type, he isn't affected by the storm. Physical attacker vs Leech seed, Spikes, Iron Barbs, Stealth Rock, Thunder Wave, and Rocky Helmet= Ferrothorn wins!

Fire Weakness: Jellicent Tyranitar

Fighting Weakness: Jellicent Gliscor

Wall #2

Jellicent @ Leftovers

Ability: Water Absorb

Nature: Bold

EVs: 248 HP/252 Def/4 Spd

~Recover

~Taunt

~Toxic

~Scald

Compliments the Jellithorn combo nicely. It defends against my fighting weakness very well. It makes a very good spin blocker. And for my water weaknesses, it absorbs it with its ability.

Electric Weakness: Ferrothorn Excadrill Gliscor

Grass Weakness: Ferrothorn

Ghost Weakness: Ferrothorn Stoutland Excadrill Tyranitar

Thanks! Rate my team and tell me what you think and stuff.

As far as I renember, Excadrill is banned in competitive battling.

Apart from that, I think it would be wise to exploit Tyranitar's physical damage instead of his special. I'd say to swap Fire Blast for Rock Edge (can still kill Grass, Bug and Ice, and has a bonus of being good against air as well) and Ice Beam for Earthquake. You won't be as good against other Ground enemies, but many Grounds are also Rock. Main threats would be Quagsires and Swamperts. Maybe swap Pursuit for Grass Knot to take care of these, but it's your call.

I like your Gliscor set up. Maybe give him Power Trick (egg move) instead of fling+acrobatics so he can improve his attack, since he will be not using defence too much due to protect, and add in a flying move of your choice, or maybe U-Turn for a quick escape when things go bad.

As I said before, Excadrill (I believe) is banned in competitive. Maybe replace with Nidoking for a less bulky but still reasonably effective sweeper:

Nidoking @Choice Band/Choice Scarf

EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd

Adamant Nature

Ability: Poison Point

-Earthquake

-Stone Edge

-Poison Jab/Megahorn

-Sucker Punch

Stoutland is fine, a great setup as far as I can tell.

Eh, I don't know much about the other two. I haven't played Gen V too much since my bro lent it to a friend without asking me. Someone else will probably comment on them though.
