Help Determining Whether Pokemon is Hacked or Not?

Recommended Posts

So I traded for a Kyogre last night. Usually when I trade with someone I trade from Pokemon Diamond on my flash cart. Then Trade that Pokemon to my Legit Pokemon Pearl copy. I use Legality Checker to check if everything looks valid before trading it to Pearl.

Only this time the Trash Bytes resulted in INVALID result.

So basically I want to ask if I was had, gyped, ripped off etc?

Just read the .txt file that came with Legit Check....

"Trash Bytes:

- Pokemon Pal Parked from GBA have this. If this is displayed, it must be valid or the pokemon is hacked.

- Pokemon which have evolved after they were pal parked will have invalid trash bytes.

- Mystery Gift pokemon also have this. If this is displayed, it must be valid or the pokemon is hacked."

Everything is fine with your Kyogre. ;/

Huh? Im even more confused now?

Im under the impression from the txt. That if the trash bytes result is indeed INVALID then the Pokemon is hacked.

Especially when it mentions in the Legality Checker .txt file that:

"If trash bytes are invalid, this does not apply (since the pokemon is hacked anyways)."

Can anyone clear this up?

1. You have been told what was wrong (even though they were, technically wrong)

2. It's absolutely fine. :D

It was pal-parked to english Platinum, legal.exe does not support Platinum trash bytes, I however know how to manually check them :P and they are fine.

nice, damio xD ..

why don't you write the strings for that ..

at least for English Platinum migration ^^

looking forward to it ... :)

I will add them to the wiki page once they are added to legal, that way, when legal checks trash bytes, it wont say invalid even if they are.
