In order to get it, you had to hook up the game to a cell phone with an adapter of some sort. If you took the GS Ball to the shrine in the Ilex Forest, you could battle and catch a Lv 30 Celebi. Celebi was never released via event in the USA (or at least not from Gen III onward), it would kind of make sense if they have a Wonder Card event or something for it. The event just wasn't released here, but it did exist. So maybe the Shrine wasn't just for decoration, just a symbol that there would be an event in a future game. Perhaps they'll have some random event at Toys R'Us or some other store that gives you a GS Ball and you can place it on the shrine to have Celebi appear. I don't know... it's just my thought. Catch the dogs, trade over the birds, go to Viridian and talk to the lady outside the battle house or something and she'll give you the GS ball.
